  1. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng_prem/4906562.stm April 17th 2006. Miley born 1 May 2006.
  2. First scorer that wasn't born when Shearer last played/scored.
  3. Good to hear it was decent cos I was thinking it sounded proper shit on the telly, apart from maybe last half hour.
  4. Aye. He withdraws his leg. Accidentally clatters him with body, like can happen when one player jumps for header and other doesn't. Yellow card.
  5. Think some people not familiar with European sport culture can be completely oblivious to it. It's pretty acceptable to wear away colours in the US (see Elaine's indignation in Seinfeld at being asked to remove her cap...). An Indian mate of mine is a big Chelsea fan and he got shit for being openly a Chelsea fan in the Man City end for one of their games (his first game) - though I was surprised how he didn't know that since he watches every week. (I've sat in the wrong end once. Was an easy one really as it was 0-0, at QPR. Found out on the full time whistle the guy next to me was also a secret toon fan).
  6. The few weeks where we lost 3-0 to the mackems and 6-0 to Liverpool were my worst supporting the club. A dead club.
  7. Last night because that would’ve been a night for the ages, historic away CL win. Liverpool home was a gutter but so fuck I’ve seen us beat them and we’ll play them every year.
  8. Blows my mind anyone who’s ever played football can look at that and say aye that’s a pen. Loads of handballs are messes, total joke.
  9. Anything behind the non-celebration? Just absorbing it maybe.
  10. Why was Sterling getting loudly booed? Was it something I missed at the beginning?
  11. I played on occasion against Paul Dummett just on the field by mine and he was obviously a cut above. He was 3 years below me at school and it was an age where you should never be getting skinned by someone 3 years below, even if they're better than you - but he'd show me up. Can't say I had my eye on him being PL pro though. There were a few others I did think might and never did more than lower non-league. Ryan Donaldson played in a cub-scout tournament and I believe he was disqualified for being underage (Beaver playing for the Cubs )- which would only be complained about cos he was class.
  12. I saw he'd gotten a red and totally expected it to be deserved, since he's a massive radgie. But that is ridiculous. Nowhere near even borderline.
  13. Before seeing this I thought we'd gotten away a bit with the foul/push call - but now I see they got that right too, exactly, his fall forward is not from the 'push'.
  14. I started at 6 (mid 90s) - loved it as a kid. Only thing was the journeys seemed much longer at that age.
  15. Grim how quick how fans change. We were 19th two years ago. Now people kicking off after aye, a shocker, but a week we’ve beaten Arsenal and been away in the fucking champions league. Gan on Tripps.
  16. Yeah I think this is the way to go, and realistic. There'll obviously be the argument that it's still unfair to be able to get tickets through who you know, but the club already accepts that as okay and official for home games, which are also hard to get tickets for now - so there should be nothing stopping the club.
