Just watched Derby game again, ridiculous how much of a team we actually look now with the whole team working together and smart pressing/closing down. Keeping it simple patterns most of the time as well. You can see there is more progress to be made but we look very effective and just needs a few tweaks, main thing is we are competing and acting professional at the moment and are a lot better defensively than for a long time, quite liking the back 4 even with Dummet in there. So cover wise Keeper Sels, Darlow, Woodman, Elliot Right Back Yedlin, Anita, Mbemba, *Hayden?, Gamez Left Back Dummet, Haidara, Lazaar, Clark, Gamez Centre Back Mbemba, Lascelles, Clark, Hanley, Dummet, *Hayden Right Mid Ritchie, Yedlin, Perez Left Mid Atsu, Aarons, Gouffran, Perez Centre Mid Shelvey, Hayden, Diame, *Tiote, Colback (lol) Forward Gayle, Mitro, Murphy, Perez, *Gouffran It does look pretty strong in terms of options for this level at least and a lot stronger/better balanced than last season. Ritchie, Diame, Shelvey, Hayden, Mbemba and Lascelles have to start as many as possible with one of Gayle/Mitro probably. Think we could have done with another centre midfielder but first choice is looking good and could see Rafa adjusting styles if we had to put others in the centre.

Seems a more balanced squad with multiple players for each position. Genuine wingers rather than Wijnaldum or Sissoko shunted wide. More functional centre midfield and greater options in defence. Fairly successful but still unsure of the quality of some players. Getting Gayle, Diame, Hayden and Ritchie was great business
