  1. I think it's likely Joelinton will come in for Longstaff, but Murphy will retain his place.

    Joelinton

It's a perfect bedding-in scenario for him, if the rest of the attacking players are on form; he can come in when needed and get acclimatised with minimal pressure.

    Kieran Trippier

His technique and general footballing ability is absolutely elite. No action is wasted with him, even if a long ball is landing on top of him under pressure, he tries to (and more often than not, does) find a team mate.
  4. They weren't entirely unforced errors, even if they had a nightmare defensively; there's credit for us to take.

    Joe Willock

He's been pretty vital to us the last couple of games but some of his decision making just baffles me
  6. I think he just simply doesn't believe in stamina.
  7. Contender? Gotta be nailed on and a contender for goal of the season, surely? It was absolutely outrageous Maybe I'm over-egging it due to the sheer surprise but it was a proper worldie.

I just feel like he tends to favour putting his laces through the ball instantly and on almost every occasion. I think as our standards and expectations increase and we're able to get picky about criticising the minor things, it might become a minor annoyance when our desire is to control more of the ball but for now it's nowt.

But for his insta-punt kicking he's been pretty perfect for us so far.
  11. I believe it was an Ian Watkins enforced name change
  12. If you are basing the season solely off the final league placement with absolutely no context whatsoever, then yes, he did a great job that season.

    Joelinton

He has a few areas to work on, but he really could become elite if he does continue to apply himself; at his best, he's pretty unplayable. One of my favourite traits/strengths of his is how he is so strong and able to hook the ball into space even when under pressure, he does it a lot. He needs to work on the consistency of his short passing, and obviously his finishing needs improving too but he isn't far off having all the tools needed to reach the top. Also, on viewing that video, I have to say it, but I think we miss Shelvey.
  14. Murphy in particular was worse than non existent yesterday in that he actively negatively contributed to the team. He had a couple of good opportunities to work a chance and each time he conceded possession in absolutely pathetic, submissive fashion.
  15. Klopp seems a bit of a cunt when things aren't going his way, doesn't he I'm used to only ever seeing him grinning away, chilled out, as his side beats us without breaking a sweat.
  16. Really enjoyable that. What a fantastic, assured finish from Isak and an all round tireless performance. He has that leggy reach that Joelinton has that sees him get to a lot of things you wouldn't expect him to. Causing their defenders all sorts of problems with the press. I would be very surprised if Liverpool don't find a minute or two in the second half that turns things in their favour, but we're just a difficult team to beat now even under-strengthed.
  17. Given the injuries we already have, would Pulisic be a wise signing given his record? I'd be very happy with him, but there's some risk associated.
  18. We're going to "need" players for several seasons to get to where we want to be. We all know where our weaknesses lie but it's quite an unrealistic ask to expect them to all be addressed in one window, particularly since our desire seems to be to only bring in players that improves the first 11. Hopefully we do bring in some more (and I think we'll bring in at least one more), but whatever we have come the closure of the window gives us the tools to start the journey towards our targets.
  19. Win at home and draw away and we're on track (with Liverpool and Man City exceptions). We didn't look great but we didn't lose which is important for momentum.
  20. Probably felt that power was the better option over placement.
  21. The two points you've highlighted aren't minor risks, mind; there's every chance that either of those scenario's come to fruition.
