Took an age to shoot there.

"He's just so gay Asamoah Gyan"

It clearly isn't know as fact by us what his wages and transfer fee were, although I've always thought he cost £6m-£7m, but surely it makes sense that he most likely has cost us the better part of £15m for his services. He was signed from a top club at a time when the club made mistakes with transfers and paid over the odds. Even if he was on £30k, and cost just under £4m, he's still cost £10m in total, which for what we've got out of him, is insane.

What an absolute waste of a position this guy is.
-
We are going to find ourselves seriously in the shit in the coming weeks if we keep up this form.
-
You're probably right, but seeing how expertly Carroll was utilised particularly by Barton was pretty entertaining to be fair.
-
How is the obsession with him baffling by the way? I wouldn't personally say I was obsessed but I can understand it given that this lad was thought to be the future of our club, a geordie striker with the potential to be as big as Shearer was. He practically symbolised as a person the optimism and belief for the club going forward.

I'm still mixed about all of this, I can't bring myself to want Carroll to have a shit career, I want him to do well but just not for Liverpool, I can't stand them.

Reckon Spurs are capable of doing Real.

Did we ever have a worse bench than that last season?!
-
what a hideous bench.
-
Without the mental block that seems to prevent him from playing in the Premier League, Routledge always appeared to have a pretty decent delivery to me.
-
Even he knows he's shit So that last sentence means he's either going to try and improve, or try and fuck the club up

Europe: would you take, er, 5th place right now?

For a start players of higher calibre may be interested in signing. -
I didn't think Martins did a lot wrong. Had shite service and worked hard. Strange how Birmingham lacked any quality. Their lineup on paper isn't the worst team in the league by a long way.

Starting to look like we'll stay up. Can't take anything for granted that's for sure, but that was a massive win. Professional job done, we defended well from what I saw. Really pleased for Best. 5 goals in 7 league games is pretty impressive for anyone. What odd's on him to outscore Carroll for the season
-
I only watched the second half but Lovenkrands is just a waste of a position, how he stayed on the pitch for so long is beyond me. Really frustrating result, we should have won. We seem to be difficult to beat at the moment, but incapable of picking up a win. Enrique is absolute class.
-
Szeczny shit himself the second time though. Barton and Nolan ran at him and he couldn't get rid of it quick enough. that was brilliant, Nolan and Barton just plodded towards him like a couple of cronies and he cacked himself!
-
I actually voted for the Villa game (particularly Barton's goal), as it was just a massive relief that we were able to compete in the division and there was room for optimism.

Bought my younger brother a Carroll #9 shirt for Christmas, the first shirt I've ever bought with a name and number on it. I also had Premier league badges stuck on the sleeves....

I'm absolutely gutted that this is going through, but I don't think you can blame any club of our stature accepting this sort of money for a player. I also can't see Carroll wanting to leave to the extent that he's put a transfer request in. Wouldn't be surprised if it's something along the lines of deliberate forfeiture of a loyalty bonus (if he's due one). It's one of those things unfortunately. If (and it's a big if), the money is reinvested, it could make the team better. Don't get me wrong, the passionate football fan in me would rather keep Carroll than reinvest the whole lot on other players, but Spurs did it for a few years with Berbatov and Carrick and look where they are now.
-
Doesn't he forfeit any loyalty bonus by handing in a transfer request. Personally can't see him demanding a transfer to Liverpool of all teams.

Wow. We've just been promoted, people were calling our season over when Hughton left and/or BenArfa was injured. Oh fuck off. Dunno what he finds so funny, we're definitely 2 or 3 first teamers and a bit of squad depth away from being a European contender.
