That's quite an ineresting point actually, if Ameobi was holding the ball up with that sort of composure, a lot of people would notice and rightfully give the appropriate praise.

I've always thought that when you play 1 striker up front they don't get many chances, but they do tend to bring others into the game by holding the ball up, which is why you generally don't see a small/fast striker up top on his own. I thought Ranger, particularly in the second half did this job brilliantly and played a massive part in the goal by doing what he was supposed to do. Very composed for a debutant. In his case, you also have to take into consideration that it was his first game, in front of a LOT of people, and he probably wanted to make sure he just did the right thing, and didn't screw up. Rightfully Man of the Match in my opinion. I wouldn't be suprised if he had more opportunities to shoot if he was playing in a 4-4-2 formation.

I find it quite interesting that people are criticising Enrique's crossing, as I've always thought that some of his crosses are pretty lethal, and mostly of a decent standard. His passing and crossing was poor against Leicester mind.

I don't know if he appeared in any premiership games at some point in the same season but he spent a season on loan from us at Birmingham and they were a Championship team (weren't they ) In the prem when he went to them I think, he single handedly relegated them and came back here Ah ok! It took him a few attempts but he eventually got the job done for us as well.

I'd be suprised if Ryan Taylor was dropped, I thought he had a fairly decent game, put himself about and his delivery was superb at times.

My mate (Spurs fan ) watched the game today and even commented that he'd be suprised if Enrique stayed as he looked a cut above everyone else on the pitch.

He started dodgy, first 20 minutes or so, but he was much better today than last week. As much as I don't like to see it from centre backs, he did a lovely bit of skill to flick the ball round the opposition player and walk away with the ball at one stage.
