  1. Isn't he just saying there that since hes moved him from Left Back, where Kinnear was playing him when he first arrived, to Centre Back he's been one of our best players? I don't see him saying he was the first person ever to play him CB. Hardly worthy of calling him a fucking clown either.
  2. It really would be a relief to get this whole situation put to bed if he signed. It would also be a very pleasant suprise as well.
  3. I think its clear that people are interpreting this in quite varying ways. As said above, I personally find this statement one of the most embarrassing I've heard spouted from him as he's either a complete fucking idiot, or hes making a joke that is in bad taste, which makes him a complete fucking idiot.
  4. He's silent for months, and then it gets to a time when a bit of professionalism from the club needs to shown in a bid to keep hold of one of our best players, and with the transfer window approaching and he starts coming out with shite. Great.
  5. Whose reactions are you referring to by the way? This forum, or just Newcastle fans in general? I wouldn't have thought general fans reactions would be any worse coming from Shepherd than Ashley. They would possibly even have less impact as he was such a media whore.
  6. I don't really tend to get worked up or pissed off with comments made in the media, but I personally find that in bad taste considering the state we are in. I find comments like that a lot more embarrassing than any of the tripe Kinnear's come out with.
  7. I don't. He was a decent-ish player that wasn't really interested when he first came here, and since his return from Birmingham hes been a generally poor player with the odd decent game here and there. Absolute rubbish. He was our best player throughout the last 12-15 games of last season. I think its safe to say we're not going to agree here as I think that statement is absolute rubbish.
  8. Just watched it, quality His English is good enough to be captain
  9. Interesting that he of all players would praise the confidence the team has gained given Kinnear's recent comments.
  10. I don't. He was a decent-ish player that wasn't really interested when he first came here, and since his return from Birmingham hes been a generally poor player with the odd decent game here and there.
  11. He may well want to leave but the very first line of that article makes the whole article sound utterly fucking pathetic.
  12. The thing is, for me personally, he's already shown a great deal more than Jenas showed in his time here. Jenas had the technique and vision, but hardly ever applied himself. IMO Guthrie is the real deal in terms of application, and long may it continue to improve. The key is for the player not to believe his own hype and just get on with things. My Jenas-loathing aside (which has subsided considerably, it must be said), I'm not sure Guthrie has quite yet matched what JJ did for us here just yet. He was very, very good at times and scored some hugely important goals. I was always a big fan of Jenas, him and Dyer gave us a fantastically high powered engine room during our Champions league years. I don't think he has made the most of his ability though, either here or since he moved to Spurs. I'm not sure he's hungry enough to dominate games week in week out, and that's what Guthrie has to look to do. I always thought Dyer ran himself into the ground by half time, particularly early on in his time with us. I wouldnt say he really had a big engine. Just uber quick!
  13. The only real alternative I can think of to stopping teams buying their way out of trouble would be to introduce a cap on the amount that can be spent per season. I don't know whether that would work though.
  14. Jenas was very good in his first season for us. Just a shame that his career is pretty much living off the back of that.
  15. You know I've had my share When my chairman left home for a brown eyed man I really didn't seem to caaaare He knows now what it means to be alone He sure don't wish he was at home.....
  16. Its a shame your avatar doesnt involve the smug grin he pulls before making a tit of himself there. The end bit reminds me of when Robert smashed the ball into Bernards head
  17. I'm not saying he didn't score. I'm just saying that it wasn't the fantastic piece of work that most people seem to have persuaded themselves to think. FFS, he was one on one on the goalkeeper, inside the penalty area, in ten yards of space when he received the ball. You'd back any Premiership striker to score from that position. The finish itself (not the first touch), really was class, I fail to see how you can't see that.

this idiot hasnt got a clue. Makes those two late headers up here from Bramble & Faye even worse now...would have been sitting pretty in 8th. That is fucking depressing!

Would be nice to see West Ham plummet now as well. Oh and just for shits I'd like to see Hull lose every game between now and the end of the season and go down
  20. If he reminds me of anyone its Steven Gerrard, not that I'm saying he's as good as him by the way.....

    Jonas Gutierrez

Some people are never happy. Quality player in my opinion, the only questionable lack of end product from him is with his shots, hes already assisted a fair few this season.
  22. Can't really argue with that. Other than perhaps Butt deserving of a 7 maybe...
