Milner was in no way AWFUL for us! He wasn't great but more than an adequate squad player. In the time he was with us he outperformed a lot of arguably technically better players we've had.

the football was awful due to shearers and asprillas long term injuries. those two infront of hamman,solano and thomasson would have quite good to watch. Was also due to the way Dalglish set us out to play.

Thats basically how I feel. We've got nothing of worth to actually compete for, other than mid-table mediocrity at best, so 17th/12th doesn't really matter and the first garuntees we would stay up. Fuckin hell its 4 games in. All it would take at this stage is a 3 game win streak and you'd be up there. We've seen from our first couple of games that we can play so its not beyond the realms of possibility that we can have a respectable season. My opinion will of course be harder to justify the longer this situation drags out.

Don't you think it says a lot about a player when Liverpool were virtually giving him away and the only other club with half an interest was Bolton f***ing Wanderers? What it says to me is that you (probably) haven't seen a lot of him prior to coming to us and that he has played well for us so far, so for you to call him "very average" is just pre-judging him based on nothing other than the fact that he didn't cost much.
