Just out of interest, who actually "overrates" Milner? A lot of people on here would quite happily get rid, and those that do rate him far from make him out to be Christiano Ronaldo.

We actually have a pretty decent balance of wingers (judging by pre-season) in Guttierez, Milner, Duff and N'Zogbia so doubt we'd get rid. I wouldnt particularly be too happy if he left either as he can at worst be a very useful peripheral first teamer.

Id be a bit pissed off if Faye left. Him and Colo would make a good pairing.

In the last few years (post Robson) I'd probably choose the Alkmaar game, particularly the first half. Martins was brilliant that game.

Aye, but what about Newcastle - neither player has really replicated their previous form in black and white stripes (not the only culprits, I know) - has Barton's semi-impressive end to 07/08 really overshone Bowyer's goals - especially under the Souness era. Well for Newcastle its hard to judge as Bowyer had longer, I think Barton did well at the end of last season but I wouldnt say its really enough to say he was better than Bowyer. I think that Barton has the ability to give us more than Bowyer did however.

Going by what I've seen of both players, I would say at his best for Leeds, Bowyer was a better footballer.

I see what your getting at but leading by example isnt the only method though, I cant imagine Alex Ferguson or Wenger keeping up with their players.

Unfortunately I agree with you. Probably one of my favourite players when playing. As someone above said, he should have achieved so much more.
