He had a shocker against Hull, however he wasn't the only one. Nicky Butt was absolutely woeful and he's meant to be "experianced". He didnt have a shocker against Hull at all IMO. One moment of madness in the 93rd minute doesnt mean he had a "shocker". In fact he was probably one of the few that actually put in an adequate/half decent shift. He barely ever lost the ball and had a good first touch.

Its unfair to judge him on the back of that game, but in all honesty I thought he was pretty poor up until Ameobi went off. His touch and confidence was much better after that point. Pleased he scored. He's now officially on par with Stephane Guivarc'h.

Cant help but feel slightly sorry for him tbh. On Sep 1st I was really concerned that he was intent on asset stripping, which was tbh a kneejerk reaction on my behalf, but I do think he is genuine when he says he has the clubs interests at heart, I just don't think he realised how big the task was.

Personally I dont see selling Milner for £12 million as being a selling club. If we'd used the money to buy in a replacement then we'd have had the necessary depth in that position. Also, £12 million was too good to turn down as he just isn't that good. There's no excuse for not getting in a replacement however.

I dont think Heskey would be the worlds worst signing. Not brilliant but would do a job and have no problems with him sitting on the bench when Viduka/Owen/Martins are fit.
