I can see a Steven Gerrrard influence in him tbh, in the way he strikes his passes and how he takes his first touch. He almost moves to where he wants to go as he passes the ball. And before anyone jumps on this I'm not saying he's as good as Steven Gerrard.

Why is it that some people on here take to criticising our better performers? This lad has looked far from an "average player" for us and has shown a lot of potential yet some people are on his back. The same thing happened a couple of seasons ago when Milner was pretty much our only decent on field player, and people were saying we should get rid of him when players like Duff, Emre and the likes were constantly turning in shite. Maybe its because his name's Guthrie and not a household name people are spouting shit and not actually watching his performances.

He may have heart and done alright since he came, but he is a very very average footballer. Have to disagree. He's showed real potential to be a very very good player in my opinion. Totally agree.

He had a shocker against Hull, however he wasn't the only one. Nicky Butt was absolutely woeful and he's meant to be "experianced". He didnt have a shocker against Hull at all IMO. One moment of madness in the 93rd minute doesnt mean he had a "shocker". In fact he was probably one of the few that actually put in an adequate/half decent shift. He barely ever lost the ball and had a good first touch.

Its unfair to judge him on the back of that game, but in all honesty I thought he was pretty poor up until Ameobi went off. His touch and confidence was much better after that point. Pleased he scored. He's now officially on par with Stephane Guivarc'h.

Mate, you know just as much as everyone else so what makes people whose opinion differs to yours those of "mongs"? There is no definitive right or wrong here.

Cant help but feel slightly sorry for him tbh. On Sep 1st I was really concerned that he was intent on asset stripping, which was tbh a kneejerk reaction on my behalf, but I do think he is genuine when he says he has the clubs interests at heart, I just don't think he realised how big the task was.

Just like Xisco, Edgar and Butt Edgar hasnt done a thing wrong IMO. Give Xisco a chance for fucks sake.

Personally I dont see selling Milner for £12 million as being a selling club. If we'd used the money to buy in a replacement then we'd have had the necessary depth in that position. Also, £12 million was too good to turn down as he just isn't that good. There's no excuse for not getting in a replacement however.

Did I dream that he actually scored 7 in 7 for us at one point? Edit: not from his start with us, but just a run of sorts....

Begs the question, how far can stereotyping go before it is classed as racism? Is he expressing any disliking for "dark skinned people" or just stating his opinion (albeit an ignorant opinion)? In all honesty I'm usually very reluctant to post comments on racism subjects as things are so easily taken out of context, especially on this forum.

apparently he had a very good last season (fifth highest in the league based on goals per minute, think he was injured a lot though so he didn't get that many minutes), so we can expect him to be even better in the next FM Nope, if he signs for us he'll automatically be made worse!

To be honest no1 has a fucking clue whats going on with us, we havent even confirmed Xisco or Gonzalez yet, all the signings will probably be announced at the same time. No1 can say whether things are looking bad or good with us.
