  1. It's hardly on the back of one bad performance though is it? Dyer is a f****** waste of space and has been for a long time. He's got no heart at all. Bramble has been making ridiculous mistakes for 5 or 6 years at this club and will NEVER be a good defender because of it. I was more referring to a comment earlier about Martins, but I dont agree with you about Dyer either though, I don't think he played particularly badly until he was asked to play DM when he didnt have a clue what he was doing and then was s***. He's not on blistering form but he isn't a waste of space. I don't know what other teams forum members are like and whether they are the same as on here but it seems that when a player hits a bad patch they are finished and should never play again, there is no patience. nobody's seriously calling for martin's head though? i believe that in dyer's case, he has the baggage of s*** from the past hanging on his shoulders. its almost as if he owes it to us to perform like stevie g week in week out, so fair enough. that being said, from an objective point of view, can u name me one aspect of his game which is better than average other than his pace and stamina? When he's on form I think he is very good at running at players and beating his man. He showed when he returned from injury that he can find the net as well. He is good at opening teams up, only problem with him however is where to play him. I think everyone is performing way under par under Roeder apart from maybe Milner, and we'll only see players shine when a manager comes in that knows what he is doing. I don't particularly like Allardyce but he could certainly do a lot for us and bring the best out of players such as Dyer.
  2. please no, it'l be "we're only young" every time we lose!

  4. "We've all heard the rumours in the papers lads, don't worry, I'm going nowhere" depressingly funny!
  5. I think saying that players should never play for the club again and that players are a disgrace to the shirt on the back of a bad performance is a little extreme. Thinking about it rationally, although I still am pretty pissed off, I think that our downfall was the fact that most of the players out there didnt have a clue what they were doing as they were asked to do things that aren't natural to them, which boils down to Roeders decision making and lineup. The first major mistake was when Siberski was taken off and Ameobi was put on, it wasn't working having an AM/FC playing so he brought on a 3rd out and out striker as his replacement. Martins was moved out to the right wing, a position totally unfamiliar to him and unsurprisingly for the rest of the game was not seen. He was however not involved much all game, apart from a few knocks and headers. Roeder should have brought N'Zogbia on and moved Milner to the right, N'zogbia to the left and have Dyer and Emre in the middle, since Emre was playing the holding role anyway. The injury to Emre is what finished us off to be honest, that was when practically all of the players were playing out of position and where I think Dyer's evening turned from an average performance to a shit performance. He didnt know what he was doing in the defensive role. When Emre got injured I probably would have brought Oneyewu on for him, taken Owen (to be safe) or Martins off for N'zogbia and gone with Milner left, Solano right, Dyer and N'Zogbia in the middle with one of Bramble, Taylor or Oneyewu at full back. Overall I think what cost us the game was Roeder, his choice of lineup, his decisions of where to play players during the game and his substitutions. Admitedly the players were poor but when practically a whole team of players is playing a disjointed formation and out of position, you arent going to see much in the way of a performance from them.
  6. 1st half we were ok, second half completely disjointed, players playing out of position, not looking interested. I am one of Dyers biggest fans and defenders but that half hearted shot at the end pissed me right off. Roeder is way way out of his depth. Milner only decent player again, Dyer had an awful second half, Martins werent involved at all, though I cant blame him as he was completely starved and played out of position! Bramble..... fuck it I cant even be arsed to start on our defending.
  7. He has sprayed the ball around well, he made one mistake!
  8. Never seen A Oliver before, looks like a rat!
  9. I think its a bit risky to start Owen, but I think it could scare the shite out of the Reading players if the lineup read Owen - Martins. I'm starting to get quite excited now. I wonder what reception he'll get from the Reading fans.
  10. who voted Fulowashola?
  11. Well, we'll have to agree to disagree, because I thought he was indeed terrible and a waste of space, and I don't care about bandwagons - I call it how I see it. He was woeful, and needed to be substituted. (Then again, so did Sibierski, at least ten minutes before injury forced Roeder's hand) Which leads me to my point re N'Zogbia - yes, he certainly has been underwhelming this season, but when Dyer was as poor as he was on Sunday yet Roeder still thought "Hmmm, I could put N'Zogbia on for Dyer, but no..." - it tells me more about how Roeder views N'Zogbia than how well Dyer played. Maybe you think Roeder made the right call, but I certainly don't Im happy to agree to disagree! However I dont particualarly think N'Zogbia should have come on, as said before the times I have seen him recently he has pretty much been a passenger, and you can't afford to risk putting someone on that may potentially be a liability. This obviously stems from my opinion that Dyer didnt play that bad, and at least worked hard because I'm sure you will think that Dyer was a liability. I think Roeder was actually too afraid to change anything and that his hand was forced to change Sibierski because he was on the floor every 5 minutes with a different knock.
  12. No he was terrible! wipe your face cos your talking s***! Perhaps you'd like to expand on why you think Dyer was anything other than terrible on Sunday? Read the match thread (or the Dyer transfer thread), you'll find you're in a very small minority... Yes, he was through on goal once, apart from that he contributed absolutely nothing. The only reason he played the full 90 minutes was because Roeder has made his mind up about N'Zogbia Fair enough I may be in the minority but my opinion is that he didnt play bad, im not sayin he played brilliant but to say he was terrible, a waste of space etc I think is just people jumping on the bandwagon and overly criticizing a player because it is that players turn to be slagged off. Thats how it seems to be on here. He hasnt been on form of late but he wasnt terrible against Chelsea, he worked hard and got himself into a few good positions, although I concede he did give the ball away a few times. Re: Nzogbia, i personally think he has been pretty shit for us this season so I dont think he deserved to be in the team against Chelsea, he seems to be non existent at the moment when he plays, at least Dyer gets involved.

  14. Dyer didnt play bad against Chelsea.

    Joey Barton

There should be a vote for "out of order but spot on". Guess I'll have to be Spessel!
  16. I personally would be quite gutted if he left. Been my favourite player through out the time he's been here.
  17. Wasnt the Boro game quite significant that season, was it that season that Jeff Winter called the game off even though there was no snow about. Him being a Boro fan and them having an injury crisis at the time.
  18. Dyer versus Everton, 3 touches from behind halfway line to the goal! tbh!

    Anelka v Martins

I would take Martins over Anelka anyday. Not saying he's much better than Anelka or anything but why would you want an older player with so much baggage rather than a player with shit loads of potential.
  20. I voted Jol, O'neill, and Big Sam! I cannot stand Mark Hughes, considered Coppell but then its easy to choose a manager off the back of 1 good season, I would have been considering Paul Jewell this time last year. That applies even more so to Roy Keane as he hasnt even had 1 season, and he has the potential to end up another Souness.
  21. Doesnt suprise me. he looks like he has a constant chip on his shoulder, and has been pretty much shit this season!
