Aye thats right. Makes it more of a gamble now, it's either - he's away for the season or maybe playing reserve team football all season. Personally i'd take the risk and loan him out to the highest quality team that will have him. That would be the best for him in the long run. I would as well, I'm not sure on the details though, like whether you can loan someone out in the January window anymore, and whether if you do they would have to stay until the end of the season, or a year from the date of the loan. Safest bet if possible would probably be to keep him until January, assess the injury situation, and if all 4 strikers are still fit then loan him out. At least that way he'll get half a seasons first team football for someone.

Allardce said a few weeks ago that loans have changed and now they all have to be a whole season.
-
we lose a CM to injury, and another wants out, so we should sell another of our centre mids. Makes no sense whatsoever, I personally think Emre will do well under Allardyce

agree with pretty much all of that, although stamina is one thing you cant say Milner doesn't have, he probably has the biggest engine in our entire squad! I personally think that this Dyer situation is bullshit and I hope that Im proven correct and he stays because I think that he is a good player and I dont think that we are in any position to be losing any players.
-
I hope to god that this is incorrect. just our fucking luck!

I cannot see Lahm signing for us in the slightest, and would be utterly shocked if he 1) signed for us and 2) signed for us for £7 million. Would love to have to eat my words however.
-
Possibly because he's been mentioned as it's rumoured to be him, that and him being a class defender. Where has it been rumoured to be Lahm?
-
why is lahm even on the list?

shoddy they missed KO

3+6 = 9 only reason I can think of Edit: just realised 18 is free... i hear 81 is free......but obviously steven taylor wanted to be number 9 too with his number choice.... ...c'mon man, does it realy matter who gets what number... I didnt say it did matter mate, was just tryin to see any sort of logic in the number.

treading seriously close to Roeder territory there! I do agree with you though. But at the same time a high transfer fee for a well known player doesn't necessarily mean they are money grabbers, and it would be nice to see a reasonably high profile CB sign for us.

Silva/Arsenal - Could be good or bad news re: Martins
Lenny replied to Colos Short and Curlies's topic in Football
Id rather he didnt go at all but if he was to go I'd be much happier if it was to a team abroad. -
My first choice would be Heinze, then Bridge. Can't see us getting Heinze though. I would be happy with Shorey, can't comment on Quedrue and Baines as I haven't seen enough of them. Shocking to see Babayaro even put in that list, more shocking that 3 people have voted for him!

That, hands down!

Probably just a standard response since he hasnt said anything on the issue since the Owen article.

This. Only i see him warming up from an angle, rather than right in front of me. He is in front me; running up & down at between say a 45 to 90 degree angle to the front of me, depending upon his running position on the cinder track. OK? ......and no matter what angle I see him from he looks like he couldn't give a sh*t. If Sam can make a decent PL player out of him he will deserve a medal. Confidence will not give him pace & I really don't think it will give him courage either. The 30 minutes or so he played against Manure on his debut was deeply disappointing; he clearly wasn't a winger & ducked out of every challenge. He was unfit in that game iirc wasn't he? Newcastle do have a tendancy to throw players in at the deep end in difficult circumstances. I agree with what the lad above said in that if you are more confident you are more likely to put better tackles in and not necessarily duck out of challenges. Also, although confidence cannot add pace, it can add that extra level of sharpness as you will be more determined and that little bit more explosive. Confidence plays a huge role in how a player performs.
-
From what I've seen of Shorey he looks like a solid confident full back, also seems willing to support the left mid by overlapping and sticking crosses in. Haven't seen much of Baines so I can't really compare, but I'd be very happy if we signed Shorey.
-
I see your point about him warming up, but I probably wouldn't be flying up and down the line warming up whole heartedly when I know that its more than likely I won't be going on. Its a vicious cycle at the end of the day, Luque doesn't want to bother because he thinks he won't be given a chance anyway, and Roeder doesn't want to give him a chance because he isn't trying. Hopefully that will change this season.

Owen - surplus to requirements even though fit Martins - 4th choice striker Viduka - money grabbing lazy c*** sort of like that you mean? How about Owen - Real Madrids top scorer Martins - Loved by Inter fans Viduka - Boro's best player Plus: Duff - League winner and regular with Chelsea Luque - Regarded as one of Depors best players Barton - Arguably Man City's best player Butt - Man Utd league winner, albeit not necessarily regular starter
