I think Taylor needs an intelligent defender beside him myself. Taylor held it together today at times. He did. Gooch has done nothing, apart from his throws, to suggest he is even as good as Bramble. Gooch's decision making was a bit suspect at times, didnt think he played shockingly bad though. Showed good intelligence in the RB position to turn the defender and pass up the line.

Butt and Emre both did pretty decent jobs, just could have done with Emre pushing on a bit, his passing was fine nonetheless. Nzogbia was shit when he came on. First time Iv seen Gooch's throw, quite impressive!

If he pays the last year of his wages surely it wont have anything to do with arsenal will it? Touché. I thought I was falling into some sort of trap there werent sure whether to post or not. Can any player in the last year of their contract buy themselves out of the contract? Would that mean that other teams could just pay for them to get out of their contract rather than paying a larger fee to the club? Im sure its much more complicated than that but was just wondering.

The thought of Roeder staying for 2-3 seasons actually almost infuriates me. I agree that we need stability but I dont think a stable shit manager is really going to be good for us. I have been in the "lets give him a chance" camp most of the season (up until the 2nd Alkmaar match), but I now think he should go. I think we should get rid of him the moment we become safe (which will probably be after the last game of the season), that way any new manager will have time to build a relationship with the players and plan his spending for the summer.

Oh and I think Given is the best in the prem if not simply because he is the only gk (other than perhaps Friedel actually) that has produced consistently season after season.
