Sorry just annoys me when people chat complete shite, I really don't think some understand the difference between the ability to do something and to consistantly do it! How do you know he's got the ability to shoot from long range when he's only scored 3 in that style all his life? Did he have a special X-Ray that showed a super tense muscle in the thigh or something? If he had the ability he would have score a lot more. People like Gerrrad or Lampard have shooting ability, and we know they have that ability because they score goals from range from time to time. What has Parker done to show you he has shooting ability? Im a fan of Scotty's by the way, think he gets a lot of unfair criticism. But he just hasnt got the ability to score from range mate. I think the difference between the Gerrards/Lampards and Parker is that they have the confidence to shoot a lot from range. Parker doesnt shoot as often as them. Lampard particularly misses shit loads of shots, but because he shoots a lot he scores more. Of course im not saying that if he did shoot more he would score as many as them but i would imagine that he would score more if he shot more.

Parker to score screamer from 30 yards today! well the last time i criticised parker's shooting ability he scored from about 25-30 yards less than 12 hours later so probably I would like to think u would want to be proven wrong!!!

I do love how most people make out Bellamy to be a saint and that he was ruined by Souness. Frankly that is complete and utter shyte, there arent many things Souness did that were right but getting rid of Bellamy, and Robert for that matter was the right thing to do! To Sounesses credit he came in and cleaned up a whole load of shit left behind by a manager that had no control over his team. He removed 2 cocks, and transformed a players attitude in Kieron Dyer. Oh and before people think i love Souness, i dont, he was shit, but he wasnt pure evil, there were a few (very few) things he did correctly!

you're talking shit i dont think he is to be honest, Butt has made quite a few mistakes, mistakes that if parker had made, people would have been all over him. People on this forum pick people to pick on for a while. Like Martins at the beginning of the season, parker now, taylor a while back, even f***ing paul huntington! I was just kidding because of the amount of times he used shit in his analogy. I do think Butt has improved hugely though from his real shit form yeah i thought u was jokin but thought it was a good opportunity to have a say!lol, yes i agree Butt has got better, but he is still making mistakes that he shouldnt, just think that he isnt as good as ppl are making out, most ppl have him as MOM after every game. Very rarely has he put in a performance that deserves MOM. What he does do however is just do his job and do the simple things. if parker was told to be a DM id have him ahead of Butt any day!

He is shit at protecting the back four, as Butt has proved. He's not fast enough to be an attacking mid, so he's an all rounder, jack of all trades, master of none. Dont agree with that at all! Parker was superb last season as a defensive mid, if he was told that that is his position we'd get much more out of him as last season showed.

To be honest I can't think of anywhere in that post that I didnt agree with. Credit where credit is due, if Roeder is going to get all the shit he had when we were doing bad, I think its only fair that the praise comes with it for how he's turned us around. Good post.

i thought butt made quite a few mistakes yesterday

What i like about Martins is that he's getting better and better with each game, his link up play is starting to show, i wouldnt be suprised if he gets almost as many assists as he does goals. My only slight issue with him is that he opts to shoot early a lot when he could easily ruin the defender. He has been taking people on more now though.

I think we should only get him on loan if we are going to buy him at the end of the season because otherwise we'll end up losing a pissed off Milner as well as not havin swp! But then as u say, we do have other priorities! I personally dont think we should really sign him, although I wouldnt be disappointed if we did!
-
It's not about what's fair and what isn't. This is a football club and we need the best players playing wherever we can get them, if it means another decent player has to drop to the bench then so be it. Duff/Zoggy

I think Milner has got better and better for us, his end product is getting better all the time, after all the shit he's been through I think a little loyalty towards him wouldnt go amis since we dont need a player in that position! There should be no place for sentiment within the game but unfortunately that's one of our biggest flaws. i agree with that but hes been playin well and we dont need a right mid If it was on a six month loan deal and in no way harbored our chances of bringing in a decent left-back I'd be all for it. A player like SWP could be the catalyst to revitalise our whole team. The opposition would be shit scared of having SWP, Martins, Dyer and The Zog running at them at full pelt. This would cause opposition defences to drop a lot deeper allowing players like Emre more time on the ball to create things and give the back four a whole lot more breathing space as well. Like I said I see your point, and if it happened I wouldnt exactly be cursing because at the end of the day hes a good player, but I just think that spending time over the xmas period tryin to sign players for non essential positions is a bit risky, especially considering how we go about buying players, i.e. last day! I also think that in terms of work rate/effort, and consistency, Milner has probably been our best player this season, one of the few positives from the bad start we had!

I think Ramage is like Andy Obrien, never going to be great, but handy to have, works hard!

fuck off with picking on parker bullshit its gettin really boring!!
-
Kaka for 25M Lennon for 8 Puyol for 10 Parker still in the team. An even bigger bluelaugh.gif i reckon if Parker was told to be purely a DM he could be in a team like that!
-
With £100 Mill to spend you'd expect to be challenging the title, could you see that team challenging? i personally couldnt!
-
Baines, Borre, Upson, Ashton (or similar sort of player). prob be more than 20 mill tho!

Eh? Can you point out the quote that 'undermines' Shearer because I'm not getting that at all. He seems to be trying to be pretty diplomatic from where I'm standing. Although only hinted at in the interview, his point that the team needed to move away from purely focusing around Shearer was always fair (if slightly suicidal), and was something Robson also eventually struggled with. I just got the impression that he was talkin about shearer like he wasnt really anything special. "i played in europe at the highest level", is a kinda im more than he ever is or was attitude. I just think there is a bit of bitterness in what hes saying. at the same time tho the reporter did try and put the words in his mouth!
-
I personally think its fair enough to say your opinion but the way he talks about shearer (from that article) is soured by his dislike for him! I dont think its a very professional opinion and it appears to undermine Shearer.
-
From that it seems that Gullit does talk about Shearer as if hes just another footballer, like he didnt have the ability to achieve what gullit did, which to be fair is pure and utter bollocks!!!
