and ramage hasnt been playing badly recently, in fact hes played quite well. One OG and people are all over him again. I dont think he'll ever be a player that can command a first team place but hes handy to have, like andy obrien was.
-
to be fair, points for us and most teams in the prem are so important that i can understand why managers choose to use their experienced players when they have them. the way most people get into teams in the first place is through another player getting injured, unless they have been bought for £10 million obviously. Im not saying its the right thing but i can understand it.

Where the hell did you get that Ramage is 27 from, hes just turned 23!
-
he looks a lot more confident and composed than ramage and huntington, looks like he has a brain. He doesnt just lump it up the field when he gets it. He was also probably the only player i can think of that didnt give the ball away cheaply today. I thought he deserved his MOM.

Ermm....what? Sib is one of the few players we have who can trap and bring down a ball. when the ball comes into him on the deck he's not so good though, and against the manure defnders lost the ball whenever he tried to dribble. Having said that Luque would of been a lot worse To be honest i wouldnt have let Luque within ten yards of the pitch today. Luque is clearly off id have played Carroll before him

Milner did a good job defensively, would've thought it would've been better to have him on the right to kick the shit out of Ronaldo, but it worked out well. Apart from his goal, which ofcourse, was absolute class, he gave the ball away too often, just like the rest of our players. Great fighting spirit and a lot of credit to Roeder who got the tactics SPOT ON. Yeah i think he wanted the new player to be protected which is understandable. I agree that we gave the ball away cheaply way too often considering the quality we had in midfield today.
-
Milner protected edgar really well, i think roeder had him do it when huntington played at full back against chelsea. Effective.
-
Martins good at holding up the ball but on the other hand he tends to lose possesion way too easy also. If only he would pass it a bit earlier... He needs to make more runs down the line and get his head up, if he does he will be a quality team player aswell as a goalscorer, which he isn't quite atm. he def needs to take people on a bit more

gave quite a few cheap balls away but was calm on the ball most of the time He dominated Ronaldo in the second half, looked like he was gonna break his legs with some of the challanges did more than enough to keep him quiet. yeah agreed if you can keep ronaldo quiet youve done your job. Just a few sloppy passes when in possession. I suppose for someone as technically superb as him you dont expect it.

anyone hear Mcqueen when Manure scored, "Newcastle have to score if they are gonna get anything out of this". no shit sherlock!
-
In all honesty i thought that edgar, regardless of his goal, was superb! (i said hed played well at ht as well) he looked really composed, looks a better prospect than huntington. Lets hope it wasnt just a one off!

Wheres Butt?
-
You sure? likely being the key word, didnt say it was certain!lol
-
well at least its likely that we wont be the team that loses by the biggest scoreline today.......
-
F***ing hell. Hope he's alright. oh i thought it was niemi!

In all honesty Melchiot probably wouldnt be a bad shout until the end of the season!

The Olympiakos game was in March 2005! The only time Iv ever been to SJP, was for my 21st bday. What a game to go to! Wow. Bet that was immense. My St James' Park visits currently stand at Blackburn in the Worthington Cup, 1998 (drew 1-1, lost on pens), and 3-1 against Valerenga. :| It was probably the best day of my life to be fair mate, absolutely perfect day. My only minor issue was that cos it was my 21st my dad got me those executor seat things or whatever they are where u have a posh meal before hand and have an ex pro talk, the meal and everything was quality but in comparison to where the other supporters were sittin, the atmosphere werent as good. Im guessing its cos they are all business people etc. Other than that tho it was amazing!

Although i didnt vote for him, im suprised Friedel hasnt had a few more votes!

Where? blueconfused.gif don't you remember that scuffed shot that only went 15 yards wide? Clearly this shows he has the ABILITY (DO YOU EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT ABILITY MEANS>>?) to score from long distance Ginola could score from range, but i remember a shot he had once that went off for a throw in, so although i partly agree with ur argument, thats just a shit angle for argument!

Sorry just annoys me when people chat complete shite, I really don't think some understand the difference between the ability to do something and to consistantly do it! How do you know he's got the ability to shoot from long range when he's only scored 3 in that style all his life? Did he have a special X-Ray that showed a super tense muscle in the thigh or something? If he had the ability he would have score a lot more. People like Gerrrad or Lampard have shooting ability, and we know they have that ability because they score goals from range from time to time. What has Parker done to show you he has shooting ability? Im a fan of Scotty's by the way, think he gets a lot of unfair criticism. But he just hasnt got the ability to score from range mate. I think the difference between the Gerrards/Lampards and Parker is that they have the confidence to shoot a lot from range. Parker doesnt shoot as often as them. Lampard particularly misses shit loads of shots, but because he shoots a lot he scores more. Of course im not saying that if he did shoot more he would score as many as them but i would imagine that he would score more if he shot more. There's a reason he doesn't shoot that much; because he's shit at shooting, it's an obvious flaw in his game and he knows it. His shooting isnt that bad. Hes not a great goalscoring midfielder but hes not shit at it!
