  1. It's not. Iceland are a very good side with results to back it up. It's absolute arrogance to dismiss them based on the fact they used to be nothing. We should absolutely beat them. No. England are not a good team. There's a reason I bet on Iceland. Yes, I'm sure you were saying we're not a good team when we won all of our qualifying games and when we beat Germany. We massively underperformed this tournament through poor squad selection and tactics. There's plenty of ability in our team.
  2. Really hope you live to regret those words. such confidence when you couldn't top the weakest group in the competition. Scared for when Martial comes on. Really can't see us holding a 1-0 but they look a bit shaky at the back too and McLean and Long have the pace to hurt them. Nerves. Scenes. England are undefeated in ages man and dominate almost every game we play. Sure that doesn't make us invincible but Ireland wouldn't get the ball. If we find our scoring boots against Iceland we could go all the way IMO. If we got France, there's always that quality factor that they have, a player like Payet from a free kick could put us to the sword. FWIW, I don't think Ireland could beat Wales or Slovakia. You could go all the way alright. Iceland ffs. Give it a rest, immediately after the game looking for a bite.

  4. I actually agree with this, as dodgy as he is; Redknapp was very good at getting momentum and spirit. Could have been a Venables type for England.
  5. Nowt against him, but if we can get coin and actually reinvest it somewhere where we're lacking a bit more I'd not be too disappointed. He hasn't reached his potential here and our goalkeeping cover is reasonable. Now is the time we want to keep hold of any player we think has greater potential than what they're currently showing, if possible. Would rather he stayed.
  6. This is the day I go on holiday. Plans for the first evening clearly involve finding a bar showing the game

Laughed a lot at that one
  8. Didn't roma sell Pjanic to fund a replacement for the injured Rudiger. We shouldn't sell cheaply. We won't. Despite the fact he's gone missing for a lot of the season, there's clearly a very good player in there. I think he'd have looked twice the player next season under Rafa. Agree but prepare for pelters him and Sissoko are this forums pet hates I think Sissoko would look a different player under Rafa, he actually did for the last 6 or so games of the season. Wijnaldum however was still just as shit as ever right to the last, despite basically everyone else upping their game under Rafa he was still as infuriating as ever. Sissoko was still poor in the final 6 games IMO; he just put more effort in.

    Steve McClaren

I don't particularly have any animosity towards him, and if anything do side more towards sympathy. That said though, given that he supposedly had to deal with similar circumstances at Forest, it doesn't say a lot about his character that he's felt the need to say that he's [again] been too weak to take control. He's not a leader and doesn't inspire, so unless he walks into a team full of model pros he's never really going to achieve anything.

First time since this thread was created that we aren't wanting him as manager
  12. Except the second scenario wasn't possible the moment we got Rafa in Agree with the sentiment, mind.
  13. At his best he's close to world class in everything but distribution IMO.
  14. I implore someone. His balls are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy There's semen on his pants already, Pards' spaghetti He's nervous, but on the surface he looks smug and ready to drop bombs, But the team keep on ignoring what he wrote down, The whole crowd goes so loud He rocks a move, but the win won't come out He's choking how, everybody's joking now The clock's run out, time's up, over, blaow! Snap back to reality. Oh, there goes gravity Oh, there goes Alan, he choked The fucking cunt You're a father of two, Dave. The post is topped by this response IMO
  15. Check out the big brain on Brett! So I always thought his name was Brad!
  16. Dancing his way to the Thames with a giant rock chained to him.
  17. It really couldn't have gone any better could it
  18. Him, Perez, Armstrong and a proven (at least at Championship level) striker should be a good pool of strikers to choose from. The three we have would offer different qualities as well. If we brought in a striker with pace we'd be well balanced.
  19. To me it looked like he tried to get his body between Walker and the ball, caught the player, realised he was in the shit so commenced the play acting to try and get out of punishment.
  20. I think Sissoko has been poor since Rafa came in; with the only exception being that he's put much more effort in.
