I don't think I've ever seen a group of professionals more lacking in intelligence. We make so many stupid decisions and mistakes.

We'll be down a good few games before the end of the season if we lose this today.
-
They all play like they themselves are too good to be where they are and look like they're absolving themselves from responsibility. Every other rival we've played play like they're in in together and fighting.

We're down. Rotten, heartless, talentless bunch of individuals. Absolutely no desire.

He's another one of our talented players that are massively under performing.

Was pretty funny when all the Sunderland fans celebrated when Defoe hit the side netting

He actually tried to shoot aggressively in the box against Leicester early on and it really surprised me. He needs to be told to just shoot whenever he gets a sniff.
-
Biggest issue I have with him is that his first instinct doesn't seem to be to shoot; it'll be to lay it off or try a clever flick. I don't know if it's because he's lacking confidence or otherwise but with his mentality there's no chance of a half chance coming off. You make your own luck and all that; if you don't shoot you won't score.

Thinking about it, I probably hate Dalglish as much as I do because it was the first time I'd ever experienced bad football times since getting really into the game. I just remember finding the whole period depressing as hell after such an amazing time supporting us the few years preceding it.

Why is kick off time not in the thread title?! I shouldn't have to look this shit up. -
Pearce was a good signing for a couple of years, Barnes was a good signing for a season too. And I was talking about the cornerstones of Keegan's team, not the additions. Lee, Ferdinand, Ginola, Beresford, Albert etc all over 30 in Dalglish's first full season. Bottom line: Dalglish did some good things here. McClaren didn't. Ultimately your bottom line is a key point, and I agree with that, but Dalglish did more harm than good for us IMO. The three most important players you've mentioned above (Lee, Ferdinand, Ginola) all went on to have a good few more years playing very well so they could have remained cornerstones. He did sign some good players but certainly didn't himself get the best out of a large number of them. Speed in particular was shocking in his first season for us. Hamann was the only thing I remember loving about that period of time.

Easily dislike Dalglish more than McClaren tbh. Dalglish may not have had Shearer but it was his choice to play ugly football and all but completely dismantle a very good team.
