You need to take a look at the Daily Mail take on the tackle, they are calling it an assault and using several photos from different angles claiming that Mapau made two separate contacts with Nasri's knee to ensure he was properly injured. Fucksake, they are country men, the last thing he would want is one of the key French players out of the world cup squad.... I think we are lucky that Jones was as card happy during the game and called the tackle a yellow at the time, if he had not "seen it" I think it would be safe to assume that we would be staring down the barrel of a lengthy ban to Mapau.... Trial by media opinion.....

We have seen it, more than once at St James', where a player is rolling around the floor in agony one second while he game continues around him, the ball breaks to said mortally wounded player and up he pops to re join the game. I can even think of at least one event when the "injured" player actually got up and scored a goal. Rooney wonder goal against us was a sort of example as he was whining to the ref about a tackle and the ball came to him - volley - back of the net wonder goal.... Injury simulation has become part of football because of the referees needing to see something tangible before they blow for a foul. This is why we see players fling themselves to the ground simply because a opponent has placed a hand on their shoulder! The whole thing is fucked in my opinion and anything that will help to stop cheating is worth a try....

In that thread about the indictments of SAFC that certain Randy Savage has been able to get his point across relating to his personal feelings surrounding the club that he supports very nicely. I just had 10 minutes going through their Pewer Football forum, my god there is some shit in there.... On one of the topics someone was going on about Poyet being the third manager to tell Short that the squad isnt good enough, what has he done about it? Nothing! Or words to that effect.... Jesus, he has backed every single manager with huge sums of money to improve he squad, it is hardly his fault that every manager has brought in similar shit to that shit they already had! It is no surprise that Short has appointed someone like Di Fanti to oversee what the manager are spending his cash on considering the waste they have brought in to date. Seriously, without big hearted, thick headed, Ellis Short they would be so far down the pan by now. All that would be left would be some fading skid marks......

The time (locally) is automatically entered into your phone as a result. At least that is my experience of travelling through Europe.....

So we bagan a reasonably good natured bant and he came out with the classic that DiCanio is the manager for them, he never liked O'Neil at all but, DiCanio is going to take them places.... He gave me the quote and I politely said that we would not be buying his product!

Not at all surprised by that news. Still glad for him that he is getting well.

I am in the East Stand and there was a pretty big flare up in the toilets after a match earlier in the season between two blokes that started to argue about whether it was a crap match or not that they had just watched.... I took around 10 seconds from a bit of banter to turn into a fight and all because one bloke thought we were rubbish and the other bloke thought we were OK... Crackers really. There is such a lot of passion involved in being a fan of Newcastle but, use it positively man!!
