The only thing I'm worried about with booing etc is that we really need the players and Pardew to be united as one team for the rest of the season. Fair enough the players will know that the boos are directed at the board/manager, but we don't want them to resent Pardew or not be happy to work under him. I know it's unavoidable and people have every right to protest, it's just a shame that it will undermine Pardew's chances to get the players on side.

I know, I don't get that either. Some of them are probably as angry as us(although their £200,000 or so this month will surely help them through). They know the craic, they won't be expecting any less. The really sad truth is, that most, if not all the players that are of any great benefit to the team will be gone by the end of the season anyway That's not really the truth, it's the most pessimistic prediction you could make.
  3. Totally, Supermac has been a dick for a while now.

I don't think Hughton had taken us as far as he could, no way at all. He's shown that he was flexible in his opinions and open to learning from his mistakes... I was looking forward to seeing how he could develop as a manager. He could quite easily become a Moyes-esque success in a couple of years
  5. If he succeeds I'll be happy, would be very naive of me to suggest I'll ignore it. It won't change the fact that I think sacking Hughton was a bad decision, but the conclusion would have to be that Ashley's gamble paid off. FWIW I don't think any manager can get this team into the top 8, so I won't judge Pardew too harshly if say, we finish around 14th/15th.
  6. I'm actually gullible enough to be positively influenced by what I've seen of Pardew so far. If he has any chance of success, it's that he's a persuasive enough person to get the players on his side. I'm holding onto this small crumb, please don't spoil it for me! (PS I still think the whole situation is shit, obviously).
  7. I bet his basic wage is actually quite low. I'm baffled by the length of the contract like.

Yeah, if we're choosing from a pool of second or third tier managers (which we are, because Ashley's conditions are mental) then he's not as bad as some. Hopefully he'll do better than expected, time will tell.

TBF to Pardew I can see why he was pissed off with Tevez and Mascherano. They turned out to be great players, but at the time the circumstances were very strange. We weren't happy with Keegan having players forced on him.
  10. Welcome Alan, we love people called Alan so you should be alright. Aspers is in the Gate (as you know), Stanley is behind central station and the Grosvenor has just been refurbished. All the facilities you could need. As for players wives, I'm not sure who's is most attractive. Just start with Mike's daughter and see what you can get after that. Welcome on board!

No way. That's literally mental if true... shameless.

Aye, we all know they prefer the controversial callers to keep people interested. Luckily I haven't listened to any football radio since this happened, and I won't be for another few weeks either!
  13. Reuniting him with Heskey and Reo Coker would cost a fair bit in itself.

All I've had is sympathy so far, except for one mackem mate saying we didn't care enough to force Ashley out etc etc. Fans of other clubs seem as genuinely baffled as us... they can obviously see that we didn't want Hughton out.
  15. TBH, spending £10m would be a decent result at this moment in time.
  16. I don't think he's a terrible manager, West Ham fans I've spoken to don't seem to hate him that much. If he was replacing Sam Allardyce instead of Chris Hughton, and not working under Mike Ashley, I might have a more optimistic view of it all.

They cant ban the likes of Sky and the BBC. They can't ban the cameras without losing money, but they can refuse interviews etc surely? Fergie already refuses to speak to the BBC.
  19. Think the shock of this is worse, and the contrast to how we were feeling before. Relegation had been approaching for a while, and it was inevitable it would happen if we kept going like we were. It was horrible, but it wasn't a total kick in the ball sack like this is.

I'm wavering between unhappy and disgusted. If it was just a question about Pardew as manager of NUFC, then unhappy. But if it's about Hughton's sacking and replacement by Pardew, then disgusted.

I want him to succeed 100%, that would mean success for NUFC. But I don't think he will, I I think Hughton was a good man and manager.

Out of interest, why do you think it will be temporary?
  23. Easier to change the question to "is Mike Ashley the worst person ever?"
  24. Better than most of the other possibilities IMO. Still, it isn't happening.
