They do if you put them through a shredder.
  2. We were a better team with him out before we picked up injuries, unfortunately he has to play at the moment. Yeah, but swapping Ben Arfa in for anyone would make us a better team TBF. Wouldn;t be surprised if he's a better goalkeeper than Krul.
  3. Congratulations, we've achieved a totally circular argument.
  4. If there's any saving grace in situations like this, it's that footballers only care a small amount who their manager is. Yes, they seemed to love Hughton, but hopefully they will be able to adapt to whoever comes in.

Oh, give over I don't particularly care for his appointment and sacking Hughton was never on my radar during the cold, miserable walk out of The Hawthorns but this OTT-vitriol comes across as yet another example of deluded/clueless/ignorant/demanding/insert generic media stereotype Newcastle fans thinking "they deserve better". That's balls.
  6. Yet ... See if this has changed in a years time. More than happy to change my mind if it has.
  7. But he obviously wants to sell the club already, is the objective just to get him to lower the asking price very slightly?
  8. Anyway, I can't say much more than I have, I don't believe Ashley's plan is to make profit from player sales. I don't see any evidence that suggests that.
  9. Milner for £12m was a great deal, it's very difficult to turn down that sort of deal, especially if the player himself wanted to join City. Given was a mistake, especially to sell him for so little. That said, he had made it clear he was unhappy at the club and had handed in transfer requests at the drop of the hat before. The mismanagement of N'Zogbia began a long time ago, mainly when we signed Duff to hinder his development.
  10. I'll choose to credit you with enough sense not to really be suggesting we could get relegated and retain all our players.
  11. Well OK, that's debatable, but it's still back into the realms of speculation about the future based on no real evidence. We'll see what Ashley does, hopefully we'll appoint a decent manager, stay up and it won't come to selling players! Which players have we got that Ashley has turned down the opportunity to cash in on? How can I possibly know that?

They don't have one, there isn't any? Don't really need or want any more evidence of that.
  13. We can only sell players we can find buyers for, and no one will buy players who can demand ludicrous wages, like Alan Smith. Even so, the fact we haven't sold players can harldy be used as evidence we're a selling club.
  14. Heard Phil Brown on TalkSport a few months ago, talking about how managers are treated and that he 'just wants to get back to work'. He sounded like a pathetic, desperate man, but at the same time I think he would baulk at working under Ashley.
  15. So many good things to say about Hughton and what he has done for us as a club. Bearing in mind what we felt like towards the end of the relegation season, how we felt about the club this time two days ago was worlds apart. Galaxies of difference. Thanks to Hughton and the 'group of lads' he had created. What Ashley has done is criminal, absolutely without foundation or logical explanation. The man is a disgrace to football, and I wish more than anything that he'd never set foot near my football club. Since this is the Hughton appreciation thread, thanks for your work Chris. You always conducted yourself with dignity and an open mind, the polar opposite of your farcical employer.
  16. Well OK, that's debatable, but it's still back into the realms of speculation about the future based on no real evidence. We'll see what Ashley does, hopefully we'll appoint a decent manager, stay up and it won't come to selling players!
  17. Who else have we had to sell? Eh? Is your argument that we shouldn't be selling players we 'have to sell'? Seems a slightly different point.
  18. That's because we've had very few promising players to sell. Obviously someone like Bassong is an exception ... Let's see your opinion this time next year, let's see if the likes of Enrique, Carroll, Tiote and Coloccini are still here. You might be right, all I'm saying that there's no actual evidence (apart from Ashley's general shitness) to believe that will happen. As Skirge says, the reason for most departures will likely be that players want out of this farce of a club after Alan Pardew takes us back down to the Championship.
  19. That is actually the most plausible reason.

The atmosphere will be shit, I can't see any way to avoid Ashley chants throughout the entire game. It might affect the team, but I can't criticise anyone too much for it after what we've bee put through.

Just don't introduce him to your partner.
  22. Well he's never demonstrated that blueprint yet, has he? I know he's a mong and a cunt of the highest order, I just don't think selling players is one of his faults. I think his blueprint is more to sign underperforming or unsettled players on the cheap. I don't think it goes so far as to deliberately plan to sell them.

If Ashley has any plan (which he probably doesn't, or if he does it's shit) then it seems to be horses for courses - use a cheap manager to get us back into the Premier League and dispense with him when he's not the traditional name for that level.
