  1. Can we just stop it? The reality is bad enough, without clinging on to shite like this.
  2. The internet has taken speculation to a whole new level... so much potential to make stuff up.

We've run out of straws lads, they've all been clutched at.
  4. That's probably what they used as a source.
  5. Just seen this horseshite For example - per season - turnover 80m, expenditure 60m, 20m to pay back his loans Make sense? would still take 5 years to get just his loan back let alone his full investment which would take 15 years plus Also, surely we're still making a loss?
  6. It's so rare that a manager gets fired when all the fans are behind him, it's bizarre. Even with SBR, some people thought we were looking likely to decline.
  7. I'm trying to forget we actually have some football matches to play.
  8. Kinnear was possibly worse than this when looked at objectively, but it now turns out that that decision was how Ashley planned things to go, and both together are examples of how he plans to run the club from now on.
  9. I don't think you could say Shepherd was as bad, at least his errors were made because he wanted Newcastle to be massively successful. He over-reached our finances and made us look a bit silly doing it, but nothing on the scale of Ashley.
  10. Closest to my feelings really, we've just seen the final confirmation that we have no chance under Ashley and no prospect of him leaving.
  11. The only hope I'm hanging onto is the ability footballers have to adapt to new managers and new situations. Although I think Pardew is a knob generally, once he gets each player in his office and sets out what he's planning, he might be able to make it seem as though NUFC is still a normal football club. And although the players really liked and respected Hughton, players have loved managers before and not left when they were sacked. I don't think it's inevitable that the players will leave.

It's difficult to say isn't it? He's got a unique combination of arrogance, pigheadedness and a lack of knowledge of the business he's in. It could be that he believe's NUFC fans are dedicated enough to keep coming no matter what. Either that or gate receipts don't matter to him, and he simply doesn't care.

I'm just angry in general about firing a decent manager to appoint someone who's not all that. It's not really about Pardew, if he gets the job I hope he does well, although all signs suggest he won't.

I was with you up to that. who u suggest ian? bayern robben? Iniesta?
  15. I was sat a row in front of him in that season, wish to god I'd had the sense to strangle him to death.
  16. I don't think he's taking the piss, he just thinks he can take his Sports Direct business model and apply it to a football club. Basically, he's just ignorant and incompetent.
  17. There's a woman in the box office who always takes fractionally too long to print tickets... maybe her?

Seriously, the security will have to be tight as fuck. Someone is bound to try something like that. I would be amazed if Ashley is in his seat.
  19. "nice guys don’t win." They've got more chance than absolute twats.

To be fair, his wife and kids could always divorce/disown him, so they're not entirely blameless.

Exactly, avoiding shooting yourself in the foot is a bit pointless after you've already shot yourself in the head.

I was with you up to that.
