  1. Milner was (and still is) massively overrated IMO. Selling him for the price we got for him was a great deal, and if anything shows the club's transfer policy in a good light. As a central midfielder he's worth a place in the second (or maybe top) tier of teams, but as a winger he's no more than average.
  2. He shouldn't be for sale, full stop. For the fee we could get, we wouldn't be able to find and sign players to give us what Carroll might give us. And our financial situation isn't that dire that we need to sell everyone.
  3. Nolan's probably confused because all the games passed him by.
  4. Have I missed something? I thought the general feeling was that Williamson was a bargain and him and Collocinni look a great partnership?

    Louis Saha

A diamond with the hardness of chalk.
  6. Is that two for the season now? Prime example of what i'm talking about. Lennon sensational for a season and a half is all forgotten but Lennon off form for 1/4 of the season after coming back from an injury that put him out for 4 months is all that's remembered (most are basing it on his poor England WC form tbh). Forgotten far too early IMO, should be starting on the right for England when fit, or at least competing with Johnson for that spot.
  7. But is that not also to do with how many places are given to each country? Or are they all the same?
  8. I don't watch any other leagues enough to compare them TBH, certainly not outside of the 'big matches'.
  9. Having said that, I watched the Fulham v Villa game on Sunday and the Villa fans opened up with 'your support is fucking shit' after literally 30 seconds of the game. Give the fuckers a chance to get sat down eh. They'd been to Craven Cottage before, obviously.
  10. Haven't seen much of him this season but last season and any other time I saw him he looked very clumsy and shot at every opportunity. Has he gotten better? Tiote is much better. Yeah, now we have Tiote it isn't an issue, but at the time I thought he could be the player we needed for that position. He looks pretty good to me this season, has anchored Bolton well and allowed Holden and Lee to get forward. Admittedly I haven't seen him over 90 minutes very often!
  11. If anything the Premier League is getting better. It's certainly more exciting and unpredictable than in recent times. We still don't attract the superstars at the peak of their careers like Barca, Madrid and Milan, but that's more to do with finance and their reluctance to move to England. Other leagues only have two good teams, at least we've got 4 or 5.
  12. Fucking hell! just the level of detail man Any idea of Saturday's lottery numbers?
  13. Also, was that report by Alan Oliver?
  14. "He's a good player, I like him, he looks a real talent. But certainly we haven't made any enquires at all for him. There's definitely nothing going on there at the moment." Classic Redknapp denial that!
  15. But getting freekicks and pens just means you're good at freekicks and pens, don't see why it should detract from someone's total goals. If Carroll was great at them, he would be taking them.
  16. Sol has looked good whenever he's played recently, Taylor isn't as bad as people make out... we're lucky to have such good cover in defence, most team's second and third choice CBs are worse.
  17. Really interesting that, I didn't know those details. I just couldn't imagine Spurs playing in Stratford.
  18. Totally, FAs in general need to grow a backbone and get behind their referees. Managers and players need to learn to tow the line.
  19. A lot of factors will depend on it, but potentially he could. No s*** If was a stupid question TBF!
  20. Do you think it makes sense in any way though? Seems to me that Spurs are just trying to add credibility to a bid that was clearly designed to intimidate the council into allowing their original new stadium plans.
  21. I was right about Fabrice Muamba, the most minor victory possible. Really wanted us to get him when he went to Bolton.
  22. They had a load of chances at the weekend, Drogba could easily have had a hattrick. He didn't finish, whether that's a good or bad sign I'm not sure.
  23. He looks to have potential in the air and on the ground to me. He should be out on loan getting proper experience of week-to-week football - his development is being hampered by the fact we have such a paper-thin attacking lineup.
