NUFC.com have been doing some world-class stirring in the last 48 hours like, I wonder if they actually know anything? -

I disagree completely, I think that's the best thing that could happen - it would show that all parties were mature and had the capacity for compromise, as well as having the best interests of the club at heart. -

Aye, I think we've reached the point where we just have to wait for another statement from the club, or for KK to turn up for the Hull game. Nothing new has come out, despite what SSN might think. -

I agree to a certain extent, I would have preferred for them to have the meetings and discussions after training as well. All I can think is that the situation was so serious that if the meetings had not been held then Keegan would already have quit. Obviously we don't know what is going on but it does sound like we were very close to losing him. I would agree with you that if Keegan's demands are unreasonable then Ashely should show him the door. But again, I haven't a clue what has been said so I'll just wait and see. I think the fact that this hasn't already ended with a furious bust-up and KK walking out is testament to how hard both sides are working to sort it out. Given that, I'll forgive Keegan a couple of days of missed training. -

You'd have thought they'd have learned their lesson after yesterday. Either they've got a very well-informed source or they're reporting absolute bollocks again. I go with the latter. -

This isn't a big deal, we know that discussions are ongoing. Also, it's the international break, so I don't know how many of the players will be there anyway. -
I think the overwhelming logic of the system that Ashley has put in place is the main thing that will mean we come out of this with a decent result. Keegan must be able to see that Ashley is doing right for the club financially, and that the signings (whether KK's or not) have been good ones. Therefore the best resut will be a compromise, and I still think we can get that. I still thinka compromise can be reached. They would have said he was leaving by now if it was impossible and sort out the compo later. I think there's a very good chance KK will be in the dugout against Hull in fact I'd say the odds are higher than 50%. If Ashley had no room for negotiation liek I said he would be gone. Ashley is obviously willing to compromise to some extent and I'd expect KK to do the same for the good of the club. Defo, keep the faith everyone.

The Magedia Thread - Sunderland suck trollolololol
AyeDubbleYoo replied to Rocker's topic in Football
There's no way that's true, if there was a 'revolt' (which there isn't) can you imagine Michael Owen 'leading it'? Laughable. Certainly is laughable, but no more so than most of the other tripe written recently. Preaching to the converted there my friend. -

Stop talking sense man. Never!

There's no reason to boycott anything to do with Mike Ashley anyway, he hasn't done anything wrong that we know of.

This has been a better summer than most people are saying, bearing in mind those other clubs. -
Exactly how I feel we will ultimately lineup. I love it. If that team doesn't show the club is moving forward, I don't know what does.

Can a Director of Football work in English Football
AyeDubbleYoo replied to Colos Short and Curlies's topic in Football
It's all about the personal relationships really, whether it is a DoF, a footballing chairman or a direct link from the owner to the manager, the key thing is that everyone is able to communicate, compromise and work together. Sadly successful people generally have big egos, and are normally unwilling to take a back seat for the greater good. -

AyeDubbleYoo replied to Colos Short and Curlies's topic in Football
Aye, I agree it has to be someone the manager can work with, but I think it would be naive to suggest an owner would allow the manager 100% say on who it would be. If the point is that the owner believes a manager can't do everything, then he must have some input on who the other person will be. I suppose the manager and owner need to both agree, which is why it's so difficult to get right. -

It will happen, over time more and more clubs will move towards the system, although I do believe the manager still needs significant input into transfers. The 'English game' is no longer English at the top level anyway. Most of the owners, managers and players are from overseas. -

Did you not read it properly then people? The guy has won the FA cup, he must have the inside line! -
We've spent about 10m net. Whoever was bringing players in and it could be the tea lady by the looks of things just hasn't delivered. Players won't be available in Jan, so again we'll have to roll over to next summer. I know what you're saying, all I mean is that is they couldn't persuade the players they wanted then they weren't prepared to sign just anybody. I think protecting the transfer budget in this way is what we needed, considering how we've spent it in the recent past. If we have another summer like this one next season we'll by in a great position IMO. (Obviously barring what has happened with the manager, I don't want that again!)

The Only Relevant Issue Regarding Kevin Keegan
AyeDubbleYoo replied to Crumpy Gunt's topic in Football
As I've said I love KK, but even if that random speculation is true (which we don't know) then getting rid of Wise isn't the best thing to do just because Kevin says so. From what I've seen so far, I trust Ashley to make the right decisions for the club. The fact that discussions are still ongoing suggests he is open to being flexible and is prepared to have a debate on these issues. That only makes him a better man in my eyes. And well done to KK for taking part. -
I think our attempts to get Modric and Woodgate, combined with the £10m that went on Coloccini, show that the money is there for the right players. It's just that if they aren't available or don't want to come, we'll be sitting tight rather than bringing in anyone we can get.

If we agree the point that there will be less spending sprees in the premiership from now on, then all the more reason to support Ashley and the sound financial footing he's attempting to put us on. -
