    Jacob Murphy

Is there something that suggests it is sustainable for Murphy then? I’m not saying it’s not, I just don’t see what the evidence would be.

Definitely a more interesting call, comparing it to people saying we should have sold Miggy and Wilson when they were playing well, for example. Depends if you think there’ll be a reversion to the mean at any point or if this is a genuine level he’s reached and can maintain. At the very least it means we don’t need to rush a RW signing if we can’t get them until summer.
  3. I didn’t think Mbeumo was realistic TBH, but he is if that price is right.
  4. No brainer for £50m really.

By some of our previous logic (Miggy, Wilson), this is when the club should sell him.
  6. Not sure about cult hero but he’s definitely been underappreciated for all the work he’s put in. Closing down 3-4 players on your own isn’t easy
  7. We’ll probably lose if we allow as many chances as Wolves had.
  8. What do you consider making an atmosphere though… just singing? I think about this a lot. I would like more sustained chants but I think our fans do get involved with making noise and reacting to events. We just can’t keep songs going around the ground like we can in the corner. There are plenty of people who want to make a good atmosphere. FWIW I thought the Leazes was pretty good, maybe because of all those tickets returned near the away fans. I consider 3 or 4 decent songs a half to be a good result outside of the corner.

    Joe Willock

He’s one I would sell to bring in a more technical midfielder. Someone like Bergvall but left footed, good technique and smooth movement. I don’t mind Willock but I can’t see him being a key part of the squad or team.
  10. Definitely, we will know that though. I also think a lot of the Wolves performance was just game management.
  11. I imagine we knew he was an absolutely brilliant player.
  12. On the other hand, he was signed to play in quite a dangerous front 3 under Rafa with Perez and Rondon, and he ended up grinding most of his time here under dire managers at a disaster football club.
  13. Why did Raya come out for Arsenal wearing an outfield shirt over his keeper kit?

Almost wish he could help Longstaff a bit with mentality etc. I’d have said both were complete write-offs but only Murphy has managed to raise his level.
  15. This is the best game he’s played, the others he didn’t have that much to do.
  16. Have to admit I forgot how good he is. He’s genuinely a world class defender.
  17. Very fair point. Either way the fact he’s in the conversation means he’ll go down as a club legend. Wins a trophy and it’s very hard to pick anyone else as our best ever manager.
  18. I suppose it depends if you credit Keegan with basically saving the entire club. Always going to be difficult for anyone to beat that, but it might be an emotional assessment.
  19. I think we’re maybe even better now than when we got CL last time.
  20. Yeah, but what I mean is, they’re ‘could’ve scored’ rather than should’ve scored.

    Dan Burn

He’s reaching levels I never thought he had TBH. So pleased he’s getting this period in his career, must be absolutely amazing for him.
  22. One on the sideline where he rolled the defender and would’ve been through on goal and he was blatantly dragged down.
