Newcastle United 3-0 PSV Eindhoven (21/01/26) | post-match from pg. 39

Well no they didn't, we pressed them and forced errors, which we capitalised on. It didn't happen in a vacuum. Admire your new provocative posting style but no real argument here IMO. -
His body movement is great and so is his acceleration, and he's able to take the ball with him as well. Very hard to play against. Actually feel like Bobb has similar deceptive body movement and ability to beat someone with a short burst of speed. Not sure poacher was ever the right word for him, maybe just a very efficient shooter.

I guess he doesn't really want to play for Scotland or he would have done so already? So definitely a chance for Tuchel to call him up. Call up him and Hall in the next squad for sure.

I think we still had plenty of good play like, just might not have ended in a concrete shot opportunity. -
Wissa's injury was absolutely killer as well, he was meant to be the sure thing signing to bridge the gap.
-
TBH not many players would have scored that goal. Needs a great touch, decisive and deceptive movement with explosive pace and a finish on his left foot. Really top goal. I liked the signing but he's gone to a level higher recently.

Also a different game situation, surely. We took the game away from PSV so early thanks to our great work, it becomes a totally different situation to a game where you're looking for a goal. -
He's generally been playing decently the last few appearances IMO. Of course when people pointed to the fact he hadn't scored from open play in the PL for ages etc and his stats, they didn't look great, but the performances weren't that bad. He still is involved in some weird moments like that big chance where he made the wrong decision, but he's also involved in plenty of good play.

You can ease off for a day or two now.

The intensity of the opponents is so much lower as well. Actually thought PSV tried to close us down well initially, but just couldn't follow through with the speed that PL teams can. -

Also we created the errors. -
I tried a song to the tune of La Bamba, but no dice. Try again next time.

What was the check for when the ref went to the screen? Didn't look anything live.

Lovely to see Elanga get so much support, obviously the mood was up which helped. Miley getting the armband was amazing as well.

I literally think he's the best LB I've ever seen

I get in early but before 7pm is a bit silly. -
You could apply that logic to nearly any transfer.
-
If we'd got him we would be saying he wasn't technical enough and Howe was just going for type.
-
Think you’ve gone a bit far there.
-
It's classic but you need great confidence, strength and technique to make it work. Bruno does it too in his own weird way.
-
Think our lack of comfort on the ball doesn't help either, we ask the wingers to track back quite a lot but then can't necessarily put together moves that are good enough to allow them to push up confidently.

Footballers are the worst

I'm not brave enough to go in, the less pathetic posters will have to fill you in. -
