  1. Ameobi Loven Ferguson Smith Barton Jonas ^^^ Would pick that personally given the options we have available. At least give Ferguson a run out and some game time.
  2. Good stuff. Lets hope Barton follows suit and signs up as well.
  3. Anyone got a link to the articles saying he's going to sign the new deal?
  4. Arriving at Ewood Park and sitting down just as Dabizas gets a straight red card. Despite a Shearer penalty we go on to loose the game.
  5. Starting to see articles saying we'd exchange Enrique for Jay Spearing + $$$ Source is the daily mirror... http://www.footballtransfertavern.com/2011/04/premiership/newcastle-united/you-want-enrique-6-million-plus-spearing-then-please
  6. I would agree. Whilst in an ideal world he should not be starting for us, he is one of the better forwards that we have at the moment in terms of movement, pace and goal scoring record. Could be good cover for next season, although I would hope he'd be playing with the reserves and only coming into the first team picture when the shite really hits the fan in injury-terms.
  7. Awesome news, could not be a better start to the weekend!
  8. ^^ This. I will give him praise for putting cash into the club, but I suspect it is purely to protect his investment. Our resale value would drop if we hadn't made it back to the PL.
  9. I think people forget.. he's here apparently to sit on the bench and be backup for when we need a change of tactics late in the game. In that respect I don't think he's to bad given the other option was a Boro cast-away.. We obviously though need to address our striking options come the summer.. :|
  10. Would love to think so, last time I went there we lost with Dabizas getting sent off in the 3rd minute (yes it was that long ago)... so would like to think we could win it. Odds of Kuqi scoring the winner? Or does the curse of the ex-player not work when he plays for us?
  11. Well, he's saying the right things at least. If he's just another body on the bench for when we pick up our obligatory injuries then it's alright for now. We really need to get some strikers in during the summer mind... Roman from Spurs?
  12. For 8 million I'd be tempted, but I'd rather not see a flimsy squad weakened further as there is no guarantee how much at that 35 we're actually going to spend.

Get him signed up! Definitely beats some of the other dross floating around on a freebie!
  14. Holy heck.. a gooner praising us.. shocker. Seriously though.. which paper was that in?
  15. End product may be questionable but he doesn't half scare the opposition when he has the ball.. definitely a keeper in my view although with Ben Arfa & 35 million around maybe he'd have to settle for being a squad player in an ideal world!
  16. Complete and utter over reaction. He's being supportive of a mate who's moved clubs, and is offering to help him settle in. I fail to see any crime in that..
  17. Jesus... heart attack and a half that one.
  18. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2011/01/31/whirlwind-move-could-see-carroll-at-anfield-by-tonight-72703-28088092/ Whirlwind move could see Carroll at Anfield by tonight * By Lee Ryder, Evening Chronicle * Jan 31 2011 ANDY Carroll is understood to be on his way to Liverpool's Melwood training ground to talk to manager Kenny Dalglish. The Toon striker started the day with a visit to Newcastle's Benton base but in a swift turnaround, it is believed that a second huge bid for the player came in but was again rejected. Talks are on-going between the two clubs, but Carroll has stated on a number of occasions he wanted to stay at St James' Park and was proud to wear the Number 9 shirt. And only this morning that was understood to be the case with the player due for a photo shoot with Umbro on Tyneside, until his plans suddenly changed. As is usually the case, every player has a price, and it is believed that Liverpool may try again with a third bid north of £40m. And a source close to the player today told Chroniclelive: "It's happening, the wheels are already in motion." Carroll, who is under contract until 2015, could yet snub the move if personal terms can't be agreed. However, with the player already on his way to Merseyside, it looks ominous for the thousands of Newcastle fans who adore him.
  19. He doesn't. Read his latest interview in the chronicle. "Wouldn't mind staying for life"-ish What are the odds of him turning down a move on reportedly treble we're paying him?
  20. Gotta love it when even the BBC starts to take the piss about our goals.. "The more you see that Newcastle goal, the worse it gets from Wigan's point of view. They dallied at the back when Shola Ameobi flicked on Steve Harper's punt upfield, and paid the price for trying to play it around on the edge of their own area... which is when Joey Barton stole possession."
  21. Would agree with that, how anyone could play Smith up front in their right mind is beyond me. Stick Ranger up there along with Ameobi.. thats the best we can probably do right now.
