  1. RTG is a laugh a minute on a normal day, since the announcement on tickets it’s gone into hyperdrive. They’re so focussed on the Saudi ownership, everything seems to revolve around it from Just stop oil protests, chants of “your going home in a suitcase” and now there talking about having Yemen flags……these are the straws they are clutching at. I just hope we go there and destroy them, sap every last ounce of moral they have, never mind 6 in a row and all that crap just an absolute spanking from their nearest and dearest.
  2. Imagine if they found out that at least one of the 4 people in the opening photos is a NUFC Season ticket holder…
  3. Yeah, it’s been a long time since we played them and everyone has a different point of view. I’ll admit that I’ve always been very tribal about derbies, Sunderland and Boro I fucking despise and expect the same in return.
  4. I couldn’t disagree more tbh, the hierarchy of importance in terms of games and competition aside, I want us to fucking obliterate them, to completely blow them away…that means I want our strongest team playing in the game.
  5. It’s fucking pathetic, they’re very manufactured. If we ever get to that point, just close us down.
  6. Fucking awesome effort. Paris players and fans seem so frustrated with us. On that note, they’re fans appears so plastic. Gahdhe on the microphone gee-ing them along.
  7. I’ve got three kids and two season tickets. I take my two eldest on rotation (9/7) and to be fair, they love it and join in to an extent. I didn’t start taking them till they were 5 though as they’d not have watched or enjoyed it, even now the noise can overwhelm them at times. There are times when I can see there not as engaged in the match that I feel a sense of guilt because I know how many fans would love to sit where my bairns are but that’s life I suppose. I don’t think a 2 YO will enjoy the match, nor will you but don’t let that stop you because I found that it’s canny testing in the early days until they “get it”. Support the match day experience with watching it in the house with them etc. My life has changed dramatically since I started going to the football with my mates, we’ve been all over Europe (currently sitting in Paris) and all over the country but I’ve never enjoyed football as much as I do with the bairn, it’s fantastic scoring a goal and seeing how jubilant they are. Do it, just make sure they are as ready as can be and not that you’re ready for them to be.
  8. Not surprised tbh. Mind, the tube was mental….its one of the few times in my life where I felt unsafe because of how crushed it was, kids crying, people shouting not to push…it was horrid.
  9. As soon as it was confirmed there’d not be any ID checks, it was open season for passing tickets on.
  10. Agree, but I’d say drink and drugs. It’s even reflected in some of the songs I heard…summit about Nick Pope sniffs coke and some other butchered song about 10 bags. The only saving grace for me is that I didn’t hear anything about WW2 or anything stupid like that (which I expected to tbh).
  11. Yeah, it’s traditional. Looking up to the left at the Dortmund fans it looked like safe standing. I just meant if we’re to have standing it need much tighter controls around it….and some sensible people.
  12. It was very uncomfortable, we were in 60 and it was jam packed. If we’d have scored it would have been chaotic, one chance early on and it all surged forward, that was bad enough. Saw people pissing in glasses, one lad pissed down some poor blokes leg….he got moved and just started pissing everywhere. If that’s safe standing, keep it for me.
  13. There’s allocated paddocks for the standing and a steward doing a very poor check on entry to the paddock, so you could really just go where you wanted to. the seated areas where accessed via the concourse that leads to the paddocks so yeah, all mixed.
  14. There’s loads of tickets changed hands today around the square. The home fans were ok, It got loader when they scored their second….that said, even the ok beats SJP most of the time. I really can’t reiterate how utter shite our support has been though, in my opinion from everything I’ve seen it’s because a large contingent are utterly spannered and a good deal of them are just dick heads…..if I never hear the Anthony Gordon song again, it’ll be to soon.
  15. There was some fucking zombies in the away end, certainly in the paddock we were in. I’ve came across loads of people who could barely walk or talk today, it’s pathetic. we have some great fans but we also have some of the most cringeworthy fans as well, the train coming back from the ground was pathetic.
  16. It wasn’t to bad in the Gallowgate, it’s been better though. The lad beside me (in my daughters ST seat) is a perfect example of what goes wrong with the atmosphere, came in, loadsa selfies and videos of himself singing, chose to video the display instead of taking part, lasted to about 20 mins then didn’t here a peep out of him. Im of the opinion that everyone had the right to watch Newcastle, regardless of whether or not they want to sing, shout or sit in silence but I do think now is the time to expand the corner and create a larger section of people who want to sing. Maybe if the Gallowgates extended they can use it as a reason for change because for all I’ve just said that, there’s people that have sat there for years, have emotional attachments that just want to watch the game. It’s a hard one.
  17. There’s always a Carlisle Mags bus parked down towards Central station after the match, try finding the supporters group.

    St James' Park

If the Leamside line was to be reinstated then it shouldn’t be for metro imo. It should be reopened for mixed passenger and freight use, this will free up capacity on the ECML and give a strategic diversionary route. There’ll be a scheme in the next couple of years to relock the Pelaw area (which was missed under the EC resignalling in the 80’s and outside of Sunderland Direct, my prediction is that the asset to the Leamside will be formally abandoned (temporary in place to 2027 currently) however the data will be put into the new interlocking for future development.
  19. Strangely, if your logged into the Booking.NUFC website, go into personal info, you can manually change the number of loyalty points you have. It doesn’t stay like that, when you change the page it resets back to the original number but it did get my hopes up for a while 😂
  20. Top tip, avoid the internet and the whinging disappears. alternatively, focus on looking for and seeing the positives, if your using the internet as your sphere of influence then your doomed.
  21. The support was good, there were periods where it was a bit flat however we were all just as nervous as the players were, you could sense it in the crowd. All that said, given the difficulties of getting to San Siro, the shambles of passport checks, the monumental walk up to the top of the stadium and the heat/humidity (which was intense) and finally how the experience of the ground and the ultras is captivating we put up a good show IMO. I agree though that at times we can suffer because everyone’s peevy, I made an effort to not drink as much because I forget everything the next day and didn’t want to forget this. I doubt there’ll be many clubs give a perfect support in there.
  22. It’s fucking massive for a start, the positioning of the ground makes it very intimidating on approach. Inside is similar, it’s just huge. the Milan fans do a great job of intimidating players, the Curza Sud Rosso is constantly going in a way English grounds aren’t. when we attacked, they had someone on a microphone or something making a tone that’s canny off putting, all the ground joins in. beat away ground I’ve been to by a mile.
  23. Woke up in Rome, train to Milan, can’t fucking wait for the match.
