  1. It wasn’t to bad in the Gallowgate, it’s been better though. The lad beside me (in my daughters ST seat) is a perfect example of what goes wrong with the atmosphere, came in, loadsa selfies and videos of himself singing, chose to video the display instead of taking part, lasted to about 20 mins then didn’t here a peep out of him. Im of the opinion that everyone had the right to watch Newcastle, regardless of whether or not they want to sing, shout or sit in silence but I do think now is the time to expand the corner and create a larger section of people who want to sing. Maybe if the Gallowgates extended they can use it as a reason for change because for all I’ve just said that, there’s people that have sat there for years, have emotional attachments that just want to watch the game. It’s a hard one.
  2. There’s always a Carlisle Mags bus parked down towards Central station after the match, try finding the supporters group.

If the Leamside line was to be reinstated then it shouldn’t be for metro imo. It should be reopened for mixed passenger and freight use, this will free up capacity on the ECML and give a strategic diversionary route. There’ll be a scheme in the next couple of years to relock the Pelaw area (which was missed under the EC resignalling in the 80’s and outside of Sunderland Direct, my prediction is that the asset to the Leamside will be formally abandoned (temporary in place to 2027 currently) however the data will be put into the new interlocking for future development.
  4. Strangely, if your logged into the Booking.NUFC website, go into personal info, you can manually change the number of loyalty points you have. It doesn’t stay like that, when you change the page it resets back to the original number but it did get my hopes up for a while ?
  5. Top tip, avoid the internet and the whinging disappears. alternatively, focus on looking for and seeing the positives, if your using the internet as your sphere of influence then your doomed.
  6. The support was good, there were periods where it was a bit flat however we were all just as nervous as the players were, you could sense it in the crowd. All that said, given the difficulties of getting to San Siro, the shambles of passport checks, the monumental walk up to the top of the stadium and the heat/humidity (which was intense) and finally how the experience of the ground and the ultras is captivating we put up a good show IMO. I agree though that at times we can suffer because everyone’s peevy, I made an effort to not drink as much because I forget everything the next day and didn’t want to forget this. I doubt there’ll be many clubs give a perfect support in there.
  7. It’s fucking massive for a start, the positioning of the ground makes it very intimidating on approach. Inside is similar, it’s just huge. the Milan fans do a great job of intimidating players, the Curza Sud Rosso is constantly going in a way English grounds aren’t. when we attacked, they had someone on a microphone or something making a tone that’s canny off putting, all the ground joins in. beat away ground I’ve been to by a mile.
  8. Woke up in Rome, train to Milan, can’t fucking wait for the match.

  10. Has anyone got travel itineraries to Milan they can share, our group are struggling to get something sensible together.
  11. There’s a canny article on SS about Forests transfers this summer, gives some insight.

    Isaac Hayden

Didn’t he want to be closer to London a couple of years back.
  13. The Woking team bus was in The Village in Shitemoor this morning, didn’t expect them to stop there
  14. I know of a lot of example where it’s sold as a package. As an example, Brighton a couple of years ago was £150 for travel and ticket. I remember when games were postponed and my mate asked for a refund the answer was no because they still had to pay for the match ticket.
  15. No, personally I wouldn’t want to affect that group of people…I can’t give an answer to that question. I think some clubs remove a proportion of loyalty points each season? Do that along with the current checks and it could protect the genuine regular attendees?
  16. I think there are multiple scenarios of why the demand has increased, not just about the winning but I agree that’s definitely a reason. I’ve been to around 80 away games both in Europe and domestic and my experience is that the handing off of tickets is absolutely rife and not just in the innocent twitter post that’s doing the rounds. Theres a protectionism amongst fans that want to hold the option to get a ticket despite going to 1-5 select games a season therefore they’ve sold tickets on at face value or below for years just to get the point. For as many “new” fans who want to attend there’ll also “the new old” fans who have points from years gone by or gathered by selling on that have decided to start attending for themselves (ask any of the normal travel groups).
  17. Yeah, I would. But you’re angling the question how you wish to be viewed. it’s not a case of “we’re good”.
  18. There’s no system that will satisfy all groups of supporters. Scrap the lot and put all the tickets in a proportioned ballot for season ticket holders and members. People are going to pass tickets on regardless. The “loyalty point” system is broken, it’s been abused for many years now and to some degree became a closed shop for a large proportion of tickets with many handing over use of their tickets to individuals and bus runners for years, imagine some of the friends and family setups people have online.
  19. Just wait till he hits the traffic going over the Redheugh or Tyne Bridge, Mama Mia!
  20. We’re in a home bar but the lads are saying that it’s only NCFC that’s near to the ground that’ll take us.
  21. Also, for those travelling. It seems the only bar away fans will get in is at Notts County’s ground.
  22. Johnson will be playing according the Forest fans in the pub were in.
