  1. Does our current chairman guarantee us permanent CL football? No club has qualified for Europe in the past decade through the back door more than us, fact. How many times did we qualify for europe in the 40 years pre-1992 through the front door ? I bet you didn't complain when we qualified through the back door in 1968, 69 and 70 although I bet you jumped on the bandwagon, or would have done if you were old enough In the last decade we have finished in the top 5 for 3 consecutive years for the first time in over 50 years. .... FACT ..... this is not qualifying through any back door. You're right, I didn't complain about qualifying through the back door in 68, 69 and 70, I don't use it as bragging rights either. I don't think I've ever tried to make our old chairman look better for those qualifications, unlike you and now. I have highlighted that we last won something because of the qualification through the back door, something that hasn't happened since. Where did I say that the top 5 finished were back door qualifications? No chairman can guarentee CL football, thats down to the team and manager, and for me i dont care how we get into europe as long as we do, a club our size needs European money to fund its way forward IMO and who appoints the manager? So what your sayin is that the chairman completely dictates that fate of the club, sorry but your talking absolute shit So NO-ONE could see appointing Souness was the wrong move? Aye im talking absolute shit  On paper Souness is a very succsessfull manager, im not saying it was right to appoint him but at the time everyone of us was screaming that we needed discipline and that the players ran the club, the chairman does have to take account for poor descisions however is it the chairmans fault that owen is injured ? nope is it the chairmans fault that a very prolific spanish striker signs for us and cant adapt to the way of life ? nope, ultimitly its the manager nd the team that take you places

  4. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ade_Akinbiyi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Beattie_%28footballer%29 ive just done a bit of research lol Beattie, 227 app 82 goals % 36.12 £4 mill Akinbiyi 409 app 123 goals % 30.07 £750 k interseting eh lol
  5. I agree, I'd probably pay a max of £4m for him. 4 mill would be my max too, although i will say this, they rekon Nugent is avalible for about 5 mill or so, so why not take a punt on youth ??

    Police at Everton

I went to Bham last year when we put them done and for a club who had just been relegated they were pretty subdued, there was a lot of piss taking and they just took it
  7. id have beattie, wouldnt want to pay over 3-4 mill for him though
  8. well looks like we ahve missed out on ade akinbyi, just signed for Burnley.......God Dam it lol
  9. Given Solano Taylor Edgar Huntington Butt Milner Parker Emre Dyer Martins this is what i wud do
  10. Bottomless pit of money obsession again. He also wanted Carr, and was given the money to buy Milner, Butt and pay the wages to Kluivert. Its called a budget. Macbeth and his monkey will explain the concept when he comes back as he surely will soon now the team has lost a couple of games, to tell you that we didn't even have the money for Carr never mind Miguel. The shite board spent millions before and after that summer. Damned if they spend, damned if they don't, as usual. We couldn't afford another £3 million for Miguel but at the same time we could afford to bid £23 million for Rooney? I was under the impression the Rooney bid was to be funded from some kind of special package via Banks that was available only for this special player. That's what I heard anyway, so don't ask me for a link and I'm not saying it is a fact. It is speculation. i was more under the impression that we "wouldn't" go another £3mill for miguel as opposed to couldn't. i think u may be right about the banks thing, i got told that northern rock payed for owen supposedly anyways

    poor jose!

aye i saw that this morning, made me think with all our injury problems maybe we aint doing that bad !
  12. Top post, i agree that Butt has been far more positive for the team then Parker this season however i just can not see Roader dropping his captain lets not forget it was him who appointed him at best i can see Roader trying to employ a alternative formation prob being playing Butt in front of Def with Parker and Emre in the middle an one up front which away to top teams i can understand but at home i aint to sure about. i think the top and bottom is that Roader needs to decide what to do, Drop Butt and imo weaken the midfield, drop Parker and risk losing him not to meantion swallowing his pride and lets remember whats Butt now 32 ?? Parker seems to be the longer term solution however the next option would be my choise, id sell Emre and find a player who can compliment Parker in the middle i do think Emre is a good player but only when either winning at home or when he feels hard done by and as for Butt for the time being id use him but he aint getting any younger...Id like to see someone like Papa Diop in the middle with Parker, and to finish with i will say this i like Parker as a player but he needs to change his game because to be honest he seems stuck between trying to be a defencive mid and a attacking mid and at the moment it just aint working for him.

    Robben

Id love for someone to break the little fuckers legs one day.....want to go down do ya, ill give ya summit to go down for....that kinda thing !
  14. PCW1983

    Boro

id be chuffed if they went down, 2 years workin in boro was enough to make me hate the bastards, they call us but there expectations are out of this world for a crappy club with little to no supporters.....the filthy smoggie twats !!!!
  15. IM pleased that we have some what up-ed our game a little recently however our recent games are ones that we should be expecting to take the points from anyways, i dont boo, i still go to all home and most away where possible, however i can understand why people do.......if you went to work and done a shit job of it im sure your boss that is the man who pays your wages would soon let you know about it !!
  16. PCW1983

    Ray Jones.

Is that you Mr Souness lol it was actually Hansen Oh i Souness was "you will never win anything with 11 james milners" summit like that
  17. PCW1983

    Ray Jones.

Is that you Mr Souness lol

    Crouch in january

Shola or Crouch, hmmmmmm let me think lol i would have Crouch, i think him and Oba could be good together
  19. I do think that so far we have underachived this season but i would give him till the end of the season then sack him then, i just cant see us moving forward under Roader Hitzfeld, O'neill, curbs-maybe or thaat dutch dude who is manager of Russia or summit, if i was to keep Roader i would like to see Bobby come back as a director of football type role, to pass his experiance on and to help recomend, not decide signings
  20. it amazes me that people are still linking us to Bridge, a new 4yr deal says it all surely !
  21. yes but remember it was not long ago freddie seemed intent on having sole ownership so does he really want to drive up share prices ? A catch 22 situation for the fat fella
  22. no i agree with what you said tbh, imo id like to see him get loaned to a championship side to get experiance, i cant see us getting rid of many in jan, prob Luque and i have a feeling Emre may look to jump ship tbh
  23. Peter Beardsley reckons Pattison has the potential to be the next Gazza
  24. Can you remember in the summer when we were all on this forum linked with Bridge, Bent and co..........now think of what we got lol i do hope this daint happen again !
