    Papiss Cissé

He doesn't even look Championship level with his back to goal.

We didn't capitalise on him being doubled/tripled up on at all. Weird because you know it's going to happen. I wonder why we didn't work on anything properly (or at all) midweek to exploit it.

    They're are busy under-reacting.

I think we should have replaced Cabaye with Marveaux and kept our shape. Didn't help us at all changing formation. Didn't understand Tiote coming on at all.
  5. Seriously i don't think the rest were that bad.... but Debuchy was f*cking horrific. He's the main reason we lost today and i'm in a vile mood, thanks a lot you french t***. MYM and Colo were terrible too. I really don't think they were..... neither were to blame for any of the goals.... there were all Debuchy's fault.... the first two were due to his awful positioning and they both should have been picked up by him and even the third he was awful for and the midfield not picking up Aluko if he wasn't playing we win today IMO. I honestly couldn't blame Colo or MYM for any of the goals. MYM invited pressure tbh and Santon was often well out of position when we lost the ball.
  6. We really did play some nice stuff at times going forward but without a CF who looks truly dangerous he did look at bit impotent when in and around their box. Our back 4 was pretty ropey i must say. They had a good gameplan to deal with us. Shame we didn't have a good gameplan to deal with them.
  7. He doesn't know how to defend. Apparently he didn't have to do it in that Mickey Mouse sham of a league. Tbf i expect more from a guy who's played International football. WHAT he was doing for the 1st goal i just don't know. I know he didn't get much support (well next to none) from HBA today but you have to expect that with a 4-3-3. It's just the way he would go into midfield or central leaving his wing completely exposed that baffled. What was even stranger is that we had players there already but he still went walkabout.
  8. Weird lapses of concentration today. He really had no idea what he was meant to be doing at times.

We did really struggle to hold shape today.

    Who said otherwise?
  11. No, he had plenty of good games in the season we came 5th. You look silly saying otherwise. Hope he adapts and improves as it will benefit everyone.
  12. They use chalk lines. The ones they use to mark carpet before they cut that. Pretty accurate tbh.
  13. Whoever said HBA was offside is talking out of their Haris. Anyway, we'll never know what the linesman would've done. Given we had another player running to the back post it was a poor decision by Cabaye.
  14. Hope he takes a long, hard look at himself and realises what he needs to do to get back in the team. Competition for places is good for everyone.

Well, my POV is that he's not really very good and i'd wished we'd replaced him with someone better. But, as we haven't i hope he leads us through an absolute stormer of a season and does very well with the mix'n'match squad he's been left with.
  16. I wouldn't split them up yet, don't get me wrong. But anyone who thinks CB is sorted in the long-term is deluded and not very bright. I'm totally shocked as to the usually brilliant posters taking this view. I thought it was obvious to everyone that given Colo's age, we will need another CB soon enough. Obviously it would be nice to get a CB who complements MYM's weaknesses. It also seems fairly obvious that our in form CBs are Colo and MYM so stick with them for now. Surely this is not revelatory enough to need a page of posts over?

The lack of investment hasn't improved much We're a couple of injuries away from being a very different perfoming team to the one we saw against Villa imo. Of course, hopefully that won't happen but it's bound to at some point.

I don't get this 'Pardew under-performed but it's not his fault' line. If it wasn't his fault then he wasn't under-performing. The team under-performed last season for a few reasons and one of them was the approach of then manager.
  19. I think Krul was trying too hard that game. Think the CBs realised he was coming for everything whether he should or not. I'm not convinced on the basis of that game that MYM and Colo are an ideal pairing anymore than you. Clearly they're very good when the ball is played on the deck. We'll see how they get on with the aerial stuff as the season goes on. Did well against Villa though, must be said. And, if Sissoko's marking Benteke and loses him completely it's a bit churlish to blame someone else entirely.
  20. Wasn't Sissoko marking Benteke? Or meant to be anyway...
  21. Want Hull to be worried about us this weekend (not in a gay way....). Want them to worry about having to deal with HBA's trickery, Remy's pace and the receding idea that Cisse might start lashing them in. Want them to be worried about Sissoko running them over, Cabaye spraying naughty passes around, attacking fullbacks, the works. Want them to turn up nervous.

Ba had a stormer for half a season and then literally EVERYTHING Cisse kicked went in. Colo was great and HBA made a big impact when Pardew eventually realised Obertan was making him look bad. Good players playing well. My tripe file gets bigger. 3
