Thanks for this HF. I do like looking at these tables and do appreciate the work gone into them. Disagree about some of your other posts but no one's perfect
  3. I reckon Haidara could be a better player than Santon in a couple of years. Dummett, i'm not sure about.

It's a good sentiment, but who?

I doubt him a lot as well, always have. I don't think anyone is saying he's Wenger. But at the same time, I do think we've talked ourselves into this over-exaggerated view of how terrible he is, and because of that people are extremely wary of admitting anything he does right. Why bring up Wenger as a comparison? You're loading the arguement, deliberately. No one's calling him a Barry Fry or Mike Basset either. The observation is he's not particularly tactically astute and he can have problems motivating the players. With numerous examples to illustrate. He also blots his copy book by dedicating a victory to 'Mike'. He's not awful, he's not even bad. He's certainly not great and he isn't even good. He's run of the mill. For some people that's enough and for some that isn't. There you go.

So he should be aware of it, seeing as it happens time and time again. You're right, it does. If it's as simple as Pardew saying something different at half time then it should be easy to remedy. If it's the players losing their bottle or drifting off the gameplan then it's a lot more difficult.
  7. I don't think Pardew will want to change things much so i think we'll see the same front 6 in a 4-4-2 formation. His only real decision is who to play at CB. Think i'd go for MYM and Willo but i can see Pardew wanting Colo in there.

I thought we'd win and we did. We've had great difficulty playing more than 45 mins of cohesive football in a game for a while. Pardew's clearly aware of it and acknowledged his half time team talk didn't help. Hopefully, he'll do his bit against WBA and then i hope the players do their bit.
  9. Didn't think that quote was THAT bad tbh. He almost sounds optimistic!! I think we'll win. Whether we manage to open them up early (might be unlikely) or as the game stretches later on, i think we'll win. We ought to, anyway.
  10. Santon's biggest weakness is that too many crosses come in from his side.
  11. This. Pointless discussion Thought we were discussing what Ron wants tbh
  12. Or we could just keep Santon in his best position and let Haidara earn his chance. And play thin air at right back. Good choice. I'd play Anita there. Problem? Tiote in the middle against Norwich?? Where the hell else would he play like? Eeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaassssssssssssssssyyyyyy son!!! Big Ron doesn't like the idea of playing Tiote against teams where we need to control the play or open them up. He'd rather have Anita in there i think for that. Against Norwich (i would hope) that CM would be a more influential part of the game then RB so i'm surprised he'd advocate moving Anita out there. Given we have FBs (all be it not on there natural side) and also the option of MYM i would have thought Ron would have preferred that option. Somthing like this... .........................Krul....................... MYM.........Willo...........Colo......Santon ...............Sissoko......Anita............... HBA................Cabay................Remy ...................Gouf/Cisse.................... ....is all i'm saying!

  14. Quite similar actually, our lot are nowhere near as intelligent as the Arsenal duo though. Mapou is. I've never seen a defender run away from a ball but I won't start that again. John Terry when we played them. It happens quite often actually even though coaches always say go to the man. You probs don't get to watch any games. I've been to over 100 football matches in the last 5 years. I've never seen a defender run away from a long ball straight down the middle. Yawn.
  15. Do we ask our strikers to cover one of their central midfielders? Probably tbf
  16. I actually think Ashley's involvement with NUFC has done very little to add anything to the Sports Direct brand. If anything it has a negative effect, most people you talk to about the club think he's a bit of dick and that what he has done to our stadium is brainless. It seems unlikely that its led to more punters going to his shops. Clearly the advertising space at SJP has some monetary value but its limited imo. Why do you think he bought us then? Or why hasn't he sold us? It can't be keeping the club because it's a gas and he's having loads of fun....

  18. Course not, no. Expenditure should be balanced between on-pitch success while safeguarding our financial future. I was responding to the idea that NUFC should be 'allowed to spend its own money'. As we're in profit, what's wrong with that?
  19. You're surely not suggesting that the club have to pay back it's own price of purchase before he can consider spending money on transfers?
  20. You're an odd one, Ian. Now we're making losses every year and are no longer an ongoing concern without Mashley keeping us afloat.......
  21. Not good positionally imo. Has pace to make up for that. Anita will be much more useful in midfield against Norwich anyway along Sissoko and Cabaye. Either Santon or MYM at RB for this.
