I'm not, personally. Do you have kids? where's this going? i've hated my job for the last 1.5 years, absolutely hated it, but it pays well and kids are f***ing expensive not sure how that helps pardew not being able to get a team to bother their arse in cup games tbh it had nothing to do with football. Was just wondering if Polic had bairns as that's probs on of the few things that motivates me at work. Keeping them fed, clothed and sheltered!

Good point! That's why people who are good at motivating others ar held in such disregard. There's just no need! How are you motivated to do your job? Im not saying a good half time team talk doesnt have an effect. What im saying is, so does your MASSIVE salary, your MASSIVE bonuses, a big crowd, and most importantly, you should be motivated as a professional. Said more simply. There are 12 people to blame for our exit. Not 1. Sport psychology not a strong point for you then? Ok, you're right. The players have nothing to do with it. Football is just like playing Fifa, with 1 man solely responsible for success. Apologies No. We both know neither of us has said anything like that or pointed to either extreme. If the players occasionally had put in somewhat ineffectual displays, especially against 'lesser sides' we could probably point to their complacency. As it's been a feature since Pardew took over, no matter who the players have been, the weight of probability points to a leader who isn't very motivational. And that's important. SAF wasn't (apparently) the greatest tactician, he chose good coaches for that, but he definitely knew how to get his players incredibily hungry for victory and to remain focused on winning.

Who cares, he still ran the show for them every time they attacked. He was literally Man Utd's only threat. Yes there was a couple of situations where he shot at distance when he could have brought the ball further in or slipped another player in but he's only 18, plenty of time to learn decision making. Picking out that point from that game, is woeful stuff. Wouldn't have even got to pens if he hadn't stepped up and got them back in it with a lovely 1-2 then cross. Did he bollocks. He was constantly throwing himself on the ground, giving away free kicks and shooting from anywhere when there were far better options. Took the corner that led to goal, created the best chance of the game with Hernandez then produced magic to get them to pens. Who else for Man Utd did any damage in the slightest, he ran the show for Man Utd to the extent it was like a one man team going forward. Not just this game either, been like that for a couple of month. What was his tracking back like? Couldn't tell you, don't really pay attention to that part of his game. Could have just stood on the half way line all game and i wouldn't think any less of him. Not his job to defend. Is it a FB's job to support the attacks?

Good point and good idea.

I'm not sure i understand that..... You can keep the ball on the floor all you like when you have it. If the other team want to lump every time you can't change that by simply keeping it pretty when you have it. You do have to be able to deal with the aerial ball.

I've said it before, he must one of if not the highest earner at the club. If the manager doesn't fancy him we should look to get a player in in his stead that Pardew could actually feel he could use.

It's like Matt said, the crayon eating factory has disgorged itself onto the forum. We should be winning the league and every game five or six nowt you know. Criticism is fine, if it's balanced, it's just pitchforks and torches all the time. "Pardew's a witch burn him". You know you dont help yourself by being so confrontational, you're being a bit of a tit with s*** like this tbh. But sadly it's true, it's like a thread full of zealots. We are making progress and that is good. You contribute nothing to the football threads other than the unpleasant experience of watching someone figuratively clean Mashley's ring piece.

He really loses sense of what he's meant to be doing when the ball goes wide. Always has.
-
So happy with the result and the 1st half performance. I absolutely knew Pardew would shit himself at HT. You could bet your house on it. He obviously just can't help himself.
-
1st goal against Chelsea was absolutely fantastic. So calm and poised.

So faux it doesn't even exist. Faux Faux

Can't really remember tbh, just remember watching him and thinking we've dodged a 12 million pound bullet with this lad. He was breaking down his teams attacks rather than being on the end of them Sorry Brett, i meant 'unless he's strong with his back to goal'. I really haven't seen him myself. I'm coming to the conclusion that the only Pardew will play attacking players like HBA is if there's a guy he feels confident the ball can stick to up top. Give the midfielders and defenders the option of a ball a forward can control and bring other players into the attack. If De Jong can't do that then i see no point. Will just be another player given to Pardew that he doesn't really want.
-
Unless he's strong with his back to goal i really can't see the point to this.

I've seen plenty of grief over the players he IS picking.

Jonas is a shrewd loan for Norwich. He will win free kicks and help to run down the clock in games they are hanging on for points in. He fits the situation they are in very well. Plus it's not like they paid any money. They need to attack teams and give it a go. I love Jonas but the last thing they need is him lumbering around on the wings, not providing for their strikers. Norwich are all huff and no creativity, pace or excitement as it is. I doubt very much Jonas will start on the LW for Norwich.

Being questioned to why he's moving on without Jonas and not explaining the situation. Can't make this s*** up I'm no fan of Jonas and i'm not that bothered with Pardew being ruthless, he ought to be with a few others but, a model pro like Jonas probably deserves an explanation don't you think? Doesn't that just seem like common courtesy? Yes, the issue is we don't know what was said between them or how it was said. Not that it matters either way like, but still think it's a bit harsh considering up until a few weeks ago people were slammed Pardew because Jonas was going to be picked as soon as he was fit. Edit: or what Brett said. I have no idea what you're on about and Pardew can be slammed for a fair few other decisions over the past few weeks, can't remember any for him 'probably picking Jonas'. You're just being defensive.
-
Still don't think Anita will get an extended run in the side over Tiote and Sissoko.

It strengthens us if De Jong can regain his Dutch league form though... What is Cisse finds his EPL form though ? His Bundesliga form would be more than good enough tbh.
