  1. Ugh, I can barely stand this thread already. Imagine what I'd have to deal with if he comes to Man United and actually plays well.
  2. Turkish press says that Trabzonspor has made official contact with Bolton concerning buying Lee. Korean press seems to think otherwise. I've got no idea of course.
  3. Where were you for 2009~2011 where he was Bolton's best players and one of the most productive wide men in the entire league?
  4. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1079815/bolton-midfielder-lee-chung-yong-coy-on-future?cc=4716
  5. Park Ji-Sung confirms interest from Galatasaray. It's a shame that his career is going downhill, but maybe we'll get to see teams other than Man United (Sunderland? ) on tv now.
  6. That still means a team who would ordinarily qualify would miss out though. That's true. I'm probably able to say these things because I'm not a fan from one of the country's that would be affected. Think it would make both cups better if the Europa League winners were in it though.
  7. Why not just reserve a CL spot for the winners every year? Seems the simplest way around it. Personally think they should have the Europa League winners in there as well.
  8. Don't think so. Was pretty good this season though. Obviously I would be happy with either of the two. They would both be almost ideal for us, as Lee's natural position is as an inside forward in the 4-3-3 and Ki is almost ideal in a three man midfield with Cabaye and Tiote. They're also both from my local club and I watched them since they were coming up from the youth team. Seeing them play for Newcastle would be, as I've mentioned numerous times already, a wet dream.
  9. That only delights me as long as he f*cks off out the country. He's blatantly going to one of the promoted clubs to give us our obligatory annual bad home loss.
  10. I say we offer him a deal at whatever the minimum wage for footballers is. Just for the lols.
  11. A highlights player that is very inconsistent who is flashy and perform 1/10th of the time when starting but looks good as an impact player..... that's Johnson in a nutshell. He would be good as an impact player but we cant afford to have someone like him on the bench. Johnson is much more than a MOTD player IMO. Would create a lot of goals given a consistent run. City fans I know have all been very critical of Johnson. Although they certainly have higher standards than we do, it does seem that he's a player that looks better in the highlights.
  12. You wouldn't fucking love it as much as I'd fucking love it
  13. Gone for talks with the owner in Boston. Seems to me like he'll definitely be gone after that. Shame.

Walker not going, Richards not going. I can't imagine Hodgson fancying Glen Johnson at all. ....Dare we dream?
  15. it may not be the clubs decision. They do have the option of giving him a new, more lucrative deal that could convince him to stay, possibly with assurances of first-team football. Up to them to decide whether that's wise or not. no-one should have a contract that ensures them first team football anmd i wouldn't want him being unhappy at a tactical thing but the cash making him stay. Well, yeah. But if the club do decide to throw more money at him I'll trust that they're made a reasonable decision based on what they know.

  17. Meh, I trust the club to make the right decision in this sort of situation. Most of the factors involved in deciding whether to renegotiate his contract or allow him to leave are psychological/emotional, so it's impossible for us to make an accurate assessment from the outside.

bit sad he wouldn't at least come back home and play a season, given how apeshit bonkers everyone is about him there He's disgustingly loyal to that club. Retired from international football at age 30 to prolong his club career as well. No wonder Fergie loves him.

Park has said (and taken a lot of flak for saying) that he'll retire when he's no longer good enough for Manchester United. Can't see him agreeing to a move to Sunderland, of all places.

Shame all of the Russian teams qualified are Western. Would be pissing myself laughing if we got an away day in Vladivostok Looks like the closest I can hope for is Kazakhstan

To be fair we've done well in the 4-4-2. It worked against Man United at home and Chelsea away. It's pretty obvious that his plan (at least later in the season) is to go for a slightly more direct 4-4-2 against the better teams, while going with the more adventurous 4-3-3 against teams we should beat. I don't think the 4-4-2 suits or players, but at the same time, our impression of it is probably biased by the fact that the teams we use the 4-4-2 against are much tougher to play against and (usually) make us look worse.
