  1. Is there anyone in the US East Coast who might be interested in suffering through this together?
  2. I'm not worried about Milner, it's the likes of Carew and Young we won't be able to handle physically. Milner has been far more effective than Ashley Young for several months now, he's doing really well. Hopefully we won't see the utter f***ing madness of him being played at RB again (that'll be Gardener if Luke Young isn't fit). Know what I'd do if i were one of your ilk without a ticket this weekend? Turn the radio and telly off. Go for a walk or something. Smoke furiously. If you don't smoke, start. Just do something else for 90 minutes, come back in, turn on the telly and get it over and done with. im seriously toying with that idea. That is exactly what I'm going to do, can stand that level of stress. I'm seriously pondering a vacation in Las Vegas with some mates if a ticket to the match doesn't magically drop into my lap within the next few days. Blowing my annual Toon Travel fund on Blackjack should be enough to take my mind off the match. would they let you in to the USA? I'm already there?
  3. I just think the "Premiership Era" distinction is significant because clubs that were "too big to be relegated" simply didn't exist before it. I see what you mean, but disagree. You're right in that nowadays, the financial aspect has cushioned big clubs against relegation far more than they ever were before, but even back then the "too big to go down" thing still existed. In my life time I remember Man United in the second division. When we went down to the third, it was unthinkable. My great grandad used to tell me that when we first went down to the second, it was unthinkable. You'd know better than I do I suppose.

  6. Just in terms of name recognition/size of fanbase/cultural significance though, there has never been a club anywhere near the size of Newcastle United that has been relegated in the Premiership era. I'd actually find this situation kind of interesting if it wasn't affecting me directly.
  7. If only I could get a god damn ticket for this match
  8. Hiddink saving us from relegation and sending Sunderland last day. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that there would be a way to make me love the man even more
  9. alright lads, all you have to do is win one game of football and all is forgiven. One fucking game of football. It's not that hard.
  10. Surely all of this season has been part of an elaborate plan from God to test our faith and then reward us with the sweetest result possible on the last day ...I hope
  11. Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck. We are living in the Matrix and Newcastle United is what the robots created to punish those who tried to escape.
  12. I'd wager he's played our last game for us, regardless of what division we're in.
  13. I'd like to think that the squad that plays the first game of next season in the Championship will be pretty much unrecognizable, so it's really impossible to say at this point.
  14. oh Jesus Christ not this again, not now.
  15. It is really very, very simple. A big club who you wouldn't expect to be in this situation is, well, in this situation, so people scent blood. if it were Man City or Everton or us (for others) or Chelsea, or even Spurs, the reaction would be exactly the same. Football is about lots of things, most of them tribal, and laughing at the misfortune of others is one of the main ones. very good point. i guess if it was spurs or the likes i would be thinking the same had we not been in this position now. knowing how i feel at the minute, i'll never laugh again at a club going down, its probably the worst i have ever felt, and i meant that. agree with your points though, its just the way it is i guess. Exactly what I've been thinking for the past couple of days
  16. Elsewhere, Hull fans are probably complaining that they have to play against a Man U bench players who will be desperate to secure a place in the CL finals squad while we get to go against a demoralized Villa squad with absolutely nothing to play for.
  17. shit players + instability + bad luck + evil refs + injuries = relegation We're just following the script to the last 't'

    Jonas Gutierrez

Out of all the pieces of shit in our team, this is the one player who I can say with confidence is not actually shit. We'll all be watching him do the business at Spurs next season and weeping.
  19. come now, if Boro can draw against Villa surely we can.

    Brede Hangeland

He's about five times better than any defender we have. You'd think we'd have a decent scouting network in Scandinavia to pick up these guys
  21. Bang on I don't understand this thinking. Why would they give a s*** about sending Newcastle down? Their c*** fans might hate us but there's absolutely no reason whatsoever why Fergie or ManU's players should be bothered about which insignificant s*** club they're getting three points from next season. If anything, Ferguson supposedly has always had a "soft spot" for us. What ManU's second string players WILL care about is impressing Ferguson and getting an inroad into the first team against a side which they feel they can beat. They'll try hard and probably dismantle a very poor Hull side. Aye. Even from a cynical point of view... Newcastle will generate more ticket sales than Hull. Maybe in their finer moments they couldn't care, but Ferguson thrives on grudges and revenge and burning us would be more satisfying than Hull. What kind of grudge would Ferguson have against Newcastle? It's not like we beat him to the title or anything Shearer snubbed him. Howay 5 0, lots of Scots hate Newcastle, Manchester are the Kings of The North not those clueless and deluded runts from the North East. The list goes on. I honestly doubt any of those are so paramount in his mind that he's ask his players to throw a match against Hull city.

  23. Taylor and Colo against Carew. Oh joy. Oh fucking joy.
  24. Every person in any way related to the club needs to keep believing over the next week. The collective positive energy could just be what pushes our players over the top on the last day. If the fans and the city are in full-on doom-and-gloom "we're already relegated" mode for the next week, that's naturally going to rub off on the players and it won't help one bit. Just let yourself be deluded for eight days. It can't hurt, can it?
