zzZZzZZzzZz I'm Korean and even I don't care.

it's on the telly here so I suppose I'll watch it. Badly need a footy fix... (European leagues in off season, domestic league in summer break) I don't think I've ever watched an entertaining England match though. Hopefully the Americans coming out like they've got something to prove will make it competetive.

Man, I don't think I should. You look at where the club was then, and where it's been since. You're asking me to experience all that for the first time over the course of a few days. That thumbs up smiley should have a knife in it. I think you should get them, also the Newcastle history dvd to see the TRUE glory days of NUFC........Ah the 1950's......... I've only read Fifty Years of Hurt. It pretty much caught me up to speed with present day, but in my mind, there is this huge gap between Keegan's first stint as manager (I've seen highlights of a few matches on TV) and when I actually started supporting the team. I've never seen any of the Robson era, and nothing of the managers that followed him. There's a few good videos on youtube, Robson era compilations (Tooj's in particular) but you've probably seen them anyway. The 4th and 3rd seasons were class. You planning on attending a game next season? It's going to be a big deal getting over there, I don't want to fly over and catch a Derby type of game. Season after next is my target. I've flown over from Boston to Newcastle twice now, once for Man City 2006/2007 and once for Liverpool 2007/2008. Somehow I walked away without throwing myself off level 7 both times.

So all we have to do is make it a bit bigger and we get a star sounds kindergarten-ish to me.. Thing is the club would rather put away teams in shit dressing rooms rather than be eligible for hosting the Champions League finals.
-
Something to do with hotel facilities? Thought it was the dressing rooms & floodlights I think it was because our away dressing room doesn't have the same facilities our home one does.
-
No Park, not even on the bench. Sort it out Ferguson you fucker! Go Chelsea, I suppose
-
Will need a lot more than one good signing to get up to their past standards.
-
This is just completely random, but what would your reactions be if we reached the UEFA cup finals and the venue ended up being the Stadium of Light? Just checked the wiki page and it's a four-star stadia so it's not impossible. CoMS is also a four-star and it held the finals this year.

Announcing their first signing of the summer: Shola Ameobi.
-
Do we have any choice but to sack him? He'll be out for six months yeah, but the psychological effect prison time will have on him plus the fitness he'll lose from not training regularly will probably irreparably damage his worth as a footballer. It's not as if he was a world-beater to begin with. Hopefully there's some get out clause in his contract we can exploit.

can't happen (i think) due to the way the draw has worked out. I thought all combos could happen (not sure like) because the half of the draw you would go into is affected by whether you come 1st or 2nd. They're both s**** like, which could get in the way. git your wall chart out. Czech Republic, Switzerland, Turkey, Poland, Austria, Romania, Greece, Sweden are the only ones without a prayer really. Yeah, that's half the field but still it looks like a relatively wide open tourney

Switzerland really? A one man attack of Alexander Frei coupled with a back four headlined by Phillippe Senderos doesn't seem particularly frightening to me. They've got some decent players and are tactically very sound but to me they're just not good enough. Good point about Russia though. Never bet against a Guus Hiddink team. The Euro is in Austria/Switzerland, so I think they can play better than normaly... think about Japan in 2002. Almost nobody said before that they would go through the group stage... Japan didn't win the World Cup mate. Aye, and they didn't even do better than the other co-host

Nah, just a smoke screen to jack up his contract terms with Spurs (sorry, this joke got old about a week ago.)

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/may/20/premierleague.chelsea All this talk about the big 4 clubs having huge debt is nothing really. Many successful modern institutions run on deficit spending. Any of the big 4 going under is just about as likely as the United States of America going bankrupt due to their ginormous national debt. ie, it's not impossible, but not damn likely any time soon. The difference being top football clubs can't start wars. If Spurs keep fucking around with our transfers, we just might get around to disproving that

I think the dutch are much weaker than they look. A lot of their first team squad plays in the Dutch or German leagues, and remains unproven at the top level. They also lack any "flair" superstars that can really impose themselves on the game. (I suppose Van Persie being the closest thing...) Similar problem with the Germans. A lot of their players are shit/unproven otuside of the Bundesliga, and some of their mainstays have been in shockingly bad form even within their domestic leagues lately.
-
Young and Bentley wouldnt have played They were both called up and capped during the qualifying stages and Capello has had them in his squads. Surely based on recent form they'd be up for consideration if England was picking a team for Euros.
-
Honestly I don't know where this talk saying he won't come to us becuase he'd walk straight into the Real/Arsenal/Liverpool first team is coming from. He's a 22 year old playing in a mediocre league who hasn't had a single outstanding game against good opposition yet. Like I said, I see him as having about the same stature as Huntelaar or Berbatov/Eduardo prior to their moves to England. It's a bit of stretch but if he wants consistent first team football in a top tier league aren't us/Spurs/Everton/Villa about as good as he's going to get? Fair enough if he prefers slowly breaking into a CL squad, but it's not beyond the realm of possibility that we could get him.
-
Even though I'm not English I feel that it's a real shame that England didn't qualify. Would have been very interesting to see how the young talent we see every week in the Premiership (Young, Bentley, Richards etc.) performs on the international level. On the bright side, at least Owen won't be breaking his leg again. (I distinctly remember screaming and chucking my remote at the television screen at 3am during England v. Sweden two years ago.)
-
Portugal would be favorites if they had even one out-and-out striker capable of preforming on the international level, as opposed to the rotating bunch of white Ameobis they've got. Spain have an excellent team on paper but they're notoriously good at bottling major tournaments, so I guess France for me.

I honestly didn't mind Spurs at all before I started posting on here. They played good football, they signed a Korean, and I kind of felt that we were kindred spirits as mid-table clubs trying to break into the top four. Of course, since defo (who honestly should be banned by now,) Kingdawson, and Martin Jol became the only three Spurs fans I know, my opinion of them has slided a bit, to say the least.

He doesn't need that. He has already done this in Stuggart and his next step is definitely going to choose a club that can win Champions League. Put it in this way: he is classified by the top clubs as the best striker in the world under 23 years old. He has already gain the hype similar to Berbatov. Those watching EPL may not know this but the fact that he is the definite starter for Germany speaks all. Now it's Klose and Podolski who wish the get a place alongside Mario Gomez. No other player except Ballack has similar status in Germany. Of coz I hope our club can sign some great players, but it's really pointless to have expectations for such kinda player. Is this actually true? To be honest, I had only heard of the lad once or twice before he was linked to us, and had envisioned his stature in Europe to be more along the lines of Huntelaar ie. potentially very good young striker currently tearing up a mid-tier European league. Not to be too critical but nobody's seen what he can do against real quality opposition. Podolski was putting up similar numbers a couple of years ago and he's been well and truly found out since moving to Bayern. I don't deny that he's a player with talent, but how exactly are people so sure that he's one of the best strikers in the world and way, way, way too good for us?

What makes it possible for us and not possible for Everton though? Their fan base is large enough, they have a decent amount of cash (granted it may turn out we have LOTS more, but I'll believe it when I see it,) and as far as the current squad goes player-for-player we simply don't compare. I'd say it's either possible for both or impossible for both.

Spurs had very advanced talks about signing Arshavin in January but his wage demands were too much and it all fizzled out. There has been no mention on the Spurs boards of Arshavin joining Spurs in this window so I'm not really expecting him to wind up at WHL. Do you hover around these board, your heart beating in anticipation, just so you can pounce in and have an ITK jizzfest at anything that's even tangentialy related to Spurs?
