  1. That’s a problem that can be dealt with later if needed be. Like how? This is the worst part of the whole sorry saga for me. No matter who the next owner is, our future development as a club has been massively curtailed by this parasite. It's f*cking shameful how he has been allowed to develop this land to the detriment of the club. Shameful.

53 wins for us, 51 wins for them, 49 draws. Thats what I thought but Wiki (yeah, I know) and another site say differently. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyne%E2%80%93Wear_derby https://www.11v11.com/teams/sunderland/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Newcastle%20United/

Is it true that we have now won/lost the same amount of games against this lot? I thought that we were still two wins ahead but a few websites say it's 53 wins each.

I appreciate I am new on here so I say this with all due respect, but you are talking nonsense when you say the city centre is 'awful'. I don't live in the city anymore, but I love close enough that it is always my destination of choice when going shopping etc. with the kids. I love taking them to the places I enjoyed as a young boy: Fenwicks (toy department!), Mark Toney's for an ice cream, Exhibition Park etc. Yes, I would agree that there is a proliferation of student flats and development that could equally be at home in the likes of Manchester or Leeds, but if you can't see past that to admire the majesty of Grey Street, Grey's Monument and Grainger Town (never mind the units at the ground floor, look up!), or enjoy the likes of Fenwicks (give me that any day of the week over Harvey Nicks) and the brilliant pubs, then that is a shame. I'm not that well travelled but I've been a few places and nobody will ever convince me that my home town isn't the greatest city on earth. And yes I'm biased. I admire lots about our City Centre, but its becoming a pretty bland and uninspiring place these days for all kinds of things other than the occasional night out drinking and dining. Its focusing too much on students and office space and cheap and tatty shops and it can be awful at times. Although that's largely down to some of the people that inhabit it on a daily basis, beggars, charvers and f***ing charity sales people etc. I genuinely think remove the Quayside/Central Station area and Grey Street and its just a bland old boring City Centre. Northumberland Street is s***, The Gate is s*** and the Bigg Market and Haymarket likewise. Although I quite like some of the pubs around the Haymarket. I have probably visited every city and town in England, Scotland and Wales and although Newcastle is great compared to many, compared to say Leeds or Manchester, it certainly isn't the Greatest City on Earth. I personally would like to see more open space for pop up events and market stalls. I'd like to see less traffic in the City Centre and I'd like to see some new additions aimed at leisure rather than shopping and f***ing eating. How many shops and food joins does a relatively small City need. Things like an ice rink, an open exercise park for example. A water fountain maybe. Less ugly buildings for students and office space, less stupid shops that sell the same s*** as any other but under a different name/brand and less f***ing kebabs and bookies. Its Adelaide Terrace but NE1... I'm probably a miserable old c*** these days, but the idea of me visiting the City Centre other than for a p*ss up with the lads sounds horrendous. Me if I was in charge I'd build the world's biggest car park where the Arena is and all that other disused land and run electric buses into Town from there and make it a pedestrian area with more open space. Do away with the daft polluting buses clogging up the roads and other traffic. Similar to Manheim in Germany who has trams and small buses and a nice clean and freed up centre. Agree with a lot of this. Also, people bang on about Grey Street & Granger Town but the truth is that the buildings are actually in horrendous shape. Next time your out in town take a look up at the buildings. They are rotting & crumbling away and look absolutely filthy. The unpalatable truth is that the central part of the city centre is in a bad way. Newcastle City Council are a shockingly absentee landlord and think the answer is to just build as much student accomodation on prime locations as possible. Appalling.

http://i1.chroniclelive.co.uk/incoming/article10164889.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200/JS73415633.jpg If either of the two proposals above are how it ends up then NUFC are screwed. Honestly, in 32 years of following NUFC I've seen plenty of heartbreaking moments....relegations, selling off local superstar players, blowing 12 point leads, Keegan being forced out etc etc but none of it hurts more than this. And that's because the damage done by ambitionless owners, inept managers & players, relegations & cup loses can all be repaired but this cannot be. Once it's completed it will be permanent. On of the most iconic city views is taken away forever and NUFC's status ceiling as a second tier Premier League club is cemented, destined to never again compete with the current top seven clubs in England. Hell, even Sunderland could eclipse us one day as they have ample room to expand to 60,000 and beyond. When this abortion of a development is finished the vast potential that everyone feels has always been there, lying dormant, within NUFC is gone.

Is nobody else here absolutely raging at the sight of this photo? What happened to the claim that this monstrosity would not hamper any expansion of the Gallowgate end? This photo confirms the death of any hope of NUFC becoming a top player again in the Premier League. Ashley is about to wreck our future, permanently. His legacy will be here forever, long after he has gone. And our utterly inept City Council are going to let him do it too. :'(

They are convinced that the German takeover is done & dusted. Would be highly disappointing to see them get out of jail so quickly.

Realistically, we can now afford to lose all of our remaining games and we still will not be relegated. If our lot cannot bring themselves to boycott a game now then it will simply never happen.

  13. Seriously....how has he not been physically harmed at a match yet?
  14. It's warming up nicely at Rangers. Why can our downtrodden lot not give Ashley the same kind of treatment?
  15. This is from The Mag...seems to add up IMO. He's not that arsed about us getting relegated. This is how much of an idiot this man actually is. Nobody is going to convince me that there are not some very lucky people out there who get rich by accident.... Forget the chronic porous nature of our defence on Saturday. Forget too the weak as water uselessness of our midfield bite. Then forget, if you can, the Championship standard of Messrs Williamson, Gouffran, Riviere and Obertan. Let us turn to the most worrying fact to emerge from the weekend. You would not have seen it on the pitch on Saturday, or in the dugout. It was in the Chronicle and it was a reported comment from the hierarchy at St James’ Park. Mike Ashley, said this unidentified person, ‘is not particularly bothered anymore.’ This is not boredom. Far from it. Ashley is as bothered as ever about losing money. If and when we get relegated, Ashley will be bothered. Nor is it exhaustion with the barrage of criticism. I doubt if he is aware of it. If he is aware of it, I doubt if he cares. He’s not particularly bothered about criticism. If anything, criticism brings out his astonishingly stubborn side, and makes him utterly determined to persist with his established strategy. He is usually right to do so. Mike Ashley trusts his instincts above all else. He fancies himself as a gambler, and knows when to walk away. It’s just that, at Newcastle, he has nowhere to go. There are, it would appear, no buyers, although he was reportedly scouring the United States recently to discover some sports enthusiast like Ellis Short. I believe he would certainly sell if he could. But he can’t. So he is a gambler on a losing streak. It is all going tits up at Newcastle, and he can see it. He knows he is the problem. He knows Pardew is about as good as it is going to get for him. He knows nobody else will come to manage our team unless they are an alcoholic pensioner, a dangerously deluded fantasist, or an average hack with no track record. He also suspects a replacement will have no long-term effect. Pardew is his perfect guy. Ashley thinks Pardew is a good coach, and he may be right. He may be wrong, but he may be right. Ashley knows the problem is him. He can see it. And he knows that paying off Pardew and bringing in another manager who would want to spend money and would make it a condition of his contract that he would be given money to spend, is just a tiresome series of negotiations Ashley can do without. So a money enthusiast who is not particularly bothered any more, despite the spectre of relegation, means what, exactly? Well, in my view, it means he is a gambler who has lost and is going to lose big and go on losing big and who cannot get out of the mess he’s in. He can’t cash in his chips. He’s dying to run away. He’s dying to be told the bill and to leave the casino and to forget all about his doomed series of stupid punts. But he can’t. Newcastle is wrapped around his neck. So, when you’re a feckless, epic gambler like our bull-headed, ignorant owner, the only thing to do is to mentally withdraw. That is the worst outcome of all for Newcastle fans. It means he’s just going to sit back and watch, like the rest of us. Except he’s not bothered. Does his face look bothered? Not really. He wants us to stay up but he’s not going to do much about it. Sacking Pardew would expose his ridiculous and hopeless lack of alternatives, as well as exposing him as a stupid idiot. There’s nothing else for it. He’s running away, except he’s staying where he is. He’s just not bothered.
  16. Something that I have definitely noticed about them when watching their games though is the lack of passion and atmosphere at their games. Even goals are cheered only half heartedly. Can they really be bored of success already? Maybe their natural mental inclination is to be the underdogs?.....which is something I have often wondered about ourselves too, actually.
  17. Trouble in paradise? Would this forum be full of threads like the ones below, had the Sheiks bought us instead of them? http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=306272 http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=306251 http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=297762 Seems like we have more in common with City than we think....two clubs that have lost their soul. Except they win trophies.
  18. Looks to me like Ashley says to Charnley "I'll tell him if you want, I'll tell him...yep. "
