The absolute brass neck on these cunts tonight, saying it was a terrible decision to sack Johnson.
-
They seem to be forgetting that Keane was bankrolled by Ellis Short the first time around, and that definitely wont be the case under the current regime. They have collectively lost their marbles over there, once again. At least its not about us this time.
-
KK had been out of the game for less than 3 years when he came back to NUFC in 2008. He had also been a success in every managerial job that he had previously had, bar the England one. Coming to us fresh in 1992 is irrelevant. Every manager has to start somewhere, Its not Keane's time out of the game that is the issue though, it's the fact that he has done nothing as a manager to warrant the Mackems fawning over him for the job. Except of course, that he is still a high profile name in the game. That's it.

Of all the many things to loathe about these cunts, one of the most prominent is their stunning hypocrisy. When Rafa was here they jibed us that we were only happy to have him because he was a big name whose association with NUFC gave us some relevance and elevated our status as a club, and that we rated him based on his achievements with his previous clubs. Yet here they are, getting their knickers in a twist over a bloke who has one promotion success on his CV, yet because he is a big name within the game they can overlook the fact that he was sacked by them and also failed badly in his other managerial job. Desperate for some media limelight, they are prepared to ignore all of the glaring red flags that come with the appointment of Keane. At least Rafa was a proven winner in his previous jobs and hadn't been out of the game for 11 years.

They are gonna be gutted if Keane rejects them. They've got their hearts set on it, bless them. The way they have gone on about Defoe and Keane coming back once again highlights how much us hogging the media glare is affecting them. They are absolutely desperate for some media attention. All of a sudden, sacking Johnson is looking a real risk. Under him they were never finishing outside the top 6. Now though.....
-
If Keane gets the job then I hope they give him loads of money to spend. The amount they wasted under him the first time was delightful.

The Everton game will give a good indication on how things are going to go. Like Leeds, its a must-win, no excuses. Untll that game is out of the way I am still on an 8.

I thought they got it completely wrong in sacking Ross and Parkinson but I can see the logic in sacking Johnson, even if it’s still a risky decision to make. On the face of it, the decision to get rid when sitting third looks stupid but the bloke has shown consistently now that he is streaky and when they lose games, they lose them badly and when the expectations are high. It was very likely that they would blow the play-offs again IMO. Let’s just hope they balls up the decision for the replacement as seeing them flounder in the 3rd division is simply too much fun.
-
Bah, disappointed with this tbh. They weren’t going up automatically under Brent and every chance they would have bottled the playoffs too. Unfortunately I could see the likes of Warnock getting enough of a tune out of them to scrape promotion.

Poor old Exile was in torment last night, seemingly about the state that SAFC are in... https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/jermain-defoe-rumour.1569054/post-35416586 ...but we all know that it was really because the NUFC thread was locked. Thankfully there is now a new one open so he has a purpose again.

Looks like they’ve lost one of their footballing friends. Cos everyone loves Sunlun and hates the Mags, right?

https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/bolton-fan-in-peace-get-leam-richardson-as-your-next-manager.1570469/ Bolton fan in peace. Knew it wouldn’t be long.

We aren’t getting this lad mind. It just seems too good to be true..

Man Utd fans on Red Cafe seem livid with their own club that they are making these ridiculous demands of us. Lingard isnt popular on there and they just want shot of him it seems.
-
If you want any evidence of how on edge they are about our respective futures, then their reaction to Lyon denying the news about the Guimaraes transfer is a perfect summary. Absolutely ecstatic about it. A trophy-winning NUFC will truly send some of them over the edge completely. Hell, even CL qualification regulars will probably do it. I think Exile may also have a contender for the title of most bitter SMB on their forum. Step up Mackem2017, who thinks this transfer window of ours has been “legendary”.
-
Have to say I really will miss the "Mackem Messageboard Gold" thread. The one on here dedicated to our loony neighbours can be quite juicy but never quite reaches the savagery of that one on TT. RiP.
-
Shame that toontastic has gone. It wasnt very active but I liked the different flavour it had to the other NUFC boards. Skunkers was fantastic in its heyday but was slowly dying as it had lost some of it's edge before the rug got pulled. Some of the members are still here https://sk0nkers.boards.net/ but its not even remotely as good as skunkers. Walter the Mackem is still there but dont think toontoon migrated over to the place.

Back down to an 8 after being on a 9. Today needs to be season-defining and we need at least 3 top class players before the next match.
-
Well done Eddie, you really, really needed to win that and you did...... Hopefully a watershed moment and he can kick on from that. We need 5 players in the door by the next match.
-
If he doesnt start getting results and pronto he's a goner. End of Feb at the latest.
-
Dear me. Bearing teeth just meant being a bit more critical. Not actually asking for him to be sacked.
-
Who said anything about wanting him out? He has got to do better, results-wise, that's all. Playing nice football but getting beat every week is not acceptable. Fulham did that last season and look what happened there.
-
Just remember that only two weeks ago we had one of the worst results in our history, so the idea that the current manager is blameless is bullshit. He has also had the luxury of the most supportive home crowd for at least 15 years and we have little to show for it. Even Rafa didn't have that luxury and Bruce achieved results against the exact opposite backdrop. The honeymoon is over and it's time that the support showed it's teeth a little more as we are sleepwalking into the Championship.

Benitez wouldn't be the long-term answer to getting this club back into the top 8 but I think he'd keep this squad up. It wouldn't be sentiment that would have me harking for him to return, but more like pure pragmatism. We absolutely need to stay up this season. I really don't understand the relaxed attitude towards relegation from some quarters. It will be a disaster and nobody can say with certainty what the consequences of it will be.
