Hello, Just a quick plug for those who might use Twitter. I spent two weeks in Poland during Euro 2012 teaching football in youth detention centres and schools. I was asked by the charity Lionsraw if I would like to spend a year volunteering in Curitiba, Brazil coaching different sports in schools and the surrounding favelas. We need to fundraise through different events and will be looking into sponsorship to help support us (mostly towards a flight and our accommodation). I would appreciate a follow @ProjectCuritiba where we will keep it up to date with latest ongoings and news. Hopefully we can leave a legacy similar to Poland where 3 cities have taken what we did with the young offenders and are replicating that. Thanks!
  2. I think it finished 10-7 to them. To be honest they weren't trying 100% like.
  3. I'm off to Warsaw tomorrow doing some football over there. Might get a chance to go to some Poland games if tickets available over there. Safe to say I'm too excited!
  4. He was playing against us last night at Complete along with Lua Lua and a few others. I didn't realise how quick they were until they were running against you!
  5. Have decided to go for the horse racing today. Regal Acclaim, Lutine Bell, The Lemonpie and Prince Jock (E/W) in a lucky 15.
  6. Think the leniency shout is considering the ref showed leniency to Tiote literally about 4 times when he could have been sent off, then gave your bench the nod to sub him as if it was a pre-season charity game. Anyway, nothing against you lads but I was delighted with shoving Pardew's words down his throat yesterday. Really can't stand the smarmy f***er and his twattish comments about us going back to some embarrassing stuff he came out with in his West Ham days. Did our team talk on Friday with his "another level" dig. At least from your perspective the result didn't matter for CL in the end anyway. Good support and was surprised a lot seemed to stay to clap our players on their lap of the pitch? Fair play for that like. I wouldn't do it. Pardew's words about Everton were taken out of context and used by Everton supporters and the media as a slur against the Everton team. When he said "Forget about Everton and Aston Villa, we have put ourselves in a similar position to Arsenal" he was referring to other clubs coming to buy players off NUFC. He was referring to the fact that we are financially secure as Arsenal are. If a club wants to buy off us we don't have to sell to balance the books so they better come with a massive bid if they want our players. Everton and Aston Villa aren't flush with cash as I understand it. Grabbing someone by the throat isn't the same as robust tackles. Anyway, Heitinga should have gone for his two footed challenge long before Tiote fouled anyone. I could understand if they thought Tiote should have been sent off as he was on a yellow and could have had another one. However as for Cahill he can have no excuse for raising his hands to Cabaye then trying to nut Ben Arfa.
  7. Could he get done retrospectively? I don't think there was a foul given and Halsey looked like he did see it as was only 5 yards away.

    James Perch

Did what he had to well. Broke up Norwich attacks with some great tackles and 5 yard passes to Cabaye or Guthrie who then tried to start attacks.
  9. I think the first goal was two quality touches by Van Persie and Williamson couldn't cope. If Shola had headed to the corner flag would have been better than back towards half way. However a poor throw considering the time taking 6 players out of the game. Van Persie is a great player, however I dislike him the way he behaved tonight. You've pretty much won the game so to rub it into the faces of those players who have tried hard is a bastard. The thing with Krul was going on all game, you've scored a alst minute winner just go back to get ready for the restart. He could have shown a bit more respect. Clearly Woodman was trying to say something to him in the tunnell as well!
  10. I think it was Mason who called it, not sure he even looked towards the line.
  11. The first goal was not a penalty as outside the box. The second goal was poor defensive play. The third goal was well worked. The fourth was a penalty as Krul made no contact with the ball. All in all after comfortably dealing with Fulham in the first half we have become a shambles.
  12. Its been mentioned a few times by Sky (just now in the Daglish) for Carroll to claim for an assist for the second goal as he 'distracted Simpson'. My word!
  13. I think the referee gave a soft free kick against Tiote and then I can't really explain why Simpson dropped back towards the line. Krul would have got it easily, but Simpson was in the way. For the third the ball instead of going to Simpson should have been cleared, we played it back to Simpson and he panics putting it out of play just before their third. Tiote and Cabaye played well in the centre of the park. Vuckic didn't do too bad, although didn't really impose himself onto the game with a lot of his play going backwards (maybe negative play was pre match tactic). Gerrard did change the game for them, some great passing which was something they had lacked in Henderson, Spearing and Adams. Krul - 6 Simpson - 4 Coloccini - 7.5 Williamson - 6 Taylor - 5.5 (Santon - 6) Obertan - 3 (offered nothing going forwards and was a liability with the ball) Tiote - 6.5 Cabaye - 6.5 Vuckic - 6 (Ben Arfa - 6) Jonas - 6 Ba - 6.5
  14. Interesting. Pardew on an oversea scouting trip as well yesterday.
  15. Just before half time I put on a £1 accumulator for Barca to win 4-0, Shakhtar to win 2-0, AC Milan to win 2-1 and Porto to draw 1-1. The return would have been £7800. I'm almost glad Porto drew 0-0 as I don't think I could have handled Milan giving away a 2nd goal in injury time.

Krul, Lovenkrands, Perch and Ryan Taylor were all in Tup Tup last night. A lot of Swansea players were in there like Routledge, Neil Taylor, Ashley Williams, Leroy Lita and Luke Moore (out again tonight by sounds of it). I think a few teams must have came to Newcastle for their Christmas party as my mate is out tonight and has seen a few Ranger players knocking around Collingwood St.
  17. It should have been a sending off for Luiz, but it didn't happen and ultimately having Sturridge against Ryan Taylor we would always struggle. I think Tyalors problem is that he will either focus on the ball or the player and this will either leave him out of position, his body position will be all wrong and the opposition player is allowed a clear run behind him. I know left back isn't his normal position, but as a full back you need to have a clear view of whats going on the pitch so ball and player to help make your decisions. Perch could have been closer to Drogba for the first, but the second goal was just a good through ball (I thought Perch did well to get a block in before it got to Kalou). The third goal was just because we had a back four of Obertan, Perch, Simpson and R Taylor. Tim Krul pulled off some phenomonal saves, we struggled with our luck as we made a couple of chances, but the woodwork prevented us from scoring. I thought Guthrie had a good game, but we struggled when there was no movement in front so had to resort to the long ball. Obertan...could be better, he doesn't seem to know what to do with the ball. He has pace, but no end product. Its frustrating today, but I couldn't really fault the players effort. It was a difference in quality between the players and I just hope that the injuries weren't serious.
  18. Penalty was correct, but wasn't a deliberate hand ball from Taylor. The second goal was shocking from Raylor, he was caught on the wrong side as he lost track of where Richards was and he took a poor first touch. For a defender it was a decent finish from Richards on the volley. I would think about bringing Santon on for Taylor second half as Richards has been having a field day down the left side. Its a shame that its 2-0 as potentially it could have been Newcastle leading 2-0 had Ba put away his chances. I think the free header in the 6 yard box he could have done a lot better with and at least worked Hart. Ben Arfa has been decent, some nice bits of skill, but some loose passes. Sammy has been quite good on the right, maybe try and run at Clichy as he has had a bit of joy cutting inside onto his left foot. I'd hate for some kneejerk reactions after the game today as you can tell the difference in class, but Newcastle haven't done too bad.

    Nile Ranger

Just drove past him in Forest Hall hanging around outside the Nisa. I guess he wasn't involved in the reserve game and will be going out with his posse instead.
  20. Nice one, Robbo, who was that for? Forest Hall. I've been helping out for a few weeks when I can. Have set up a tasty rivals match with the Eagles U12s haha
  21. I was caretaker manager today for an U12 team. Helped them to their first win of the season in the divisional cup with a 3-2 victory and managed to give all kids around about the same game time!
  22. Sylvain Marveaux who was set to join Liverpool may not complete the deal due to a disagreement between the player and club over the terms. It had been suggested that an issue with the medical had put the deal on hold, but Marveaux told L'Equipe that if he had to do a medical he would pass with no problems as he was training with Rennes at the end of the season.

    Nile Ranger

I think he has got raw attributes to potentially be a decent player, but needs a loan spell to improve his composure in front of goal. The fact he has been in the news for the wrong reasons of late makes it hard to give him a chance. If he addressed things which would affect his game like turning up late to training, not trying as much as he could in training or turning down help from more experienced professional's he could make some minor improvements. Sadly I don't think he is going to change his 'gangster' image anytime soon, but getting a stupid smiley face tattoo on his lip despite isn't going to affect his game.
