Yeah, this seems great for the time being but I think all the players, including us, will gain great confidence when the first signings are made. Then you'll see a lot of players announcing their true intentions rather than dilly-dallying. I think our first signing could be incredibly important, lets just hope its a significant one that sends a message to both players, fans and the rest of the division alike.

Liverpool are in talks with Sammy Lee with a view to him becoming Rafa Benitez's assistant manager
-
howay man, hes only £62,000 a week!

Yea, I think replacing Viduka and Smith are vital but the duke won't be off this summer imo, hopefully January....annoying that he got that big injury recently.. I still think we'll buy that Gomis player, 12m is my guess.

Sick of trawling through that annoying Realistic Transfer Targets topic so I posted this story seperately. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_3564888,00.html Paris Saint Germain star Amara Diane has admitted he would jump at the chance to join Newcastle United. The Ivory Coast star has been linked with a move to Tyneside after Kevin Keegan checked on him personally earlier this month. The 25-year-old has now told skysports.com that he would love to make the move to England. "Kevin Keegan is a dream coach, his team always plays offensive football and playing in England would be a great opportunity," he told skysports.com. "I know there is some contact between the two clubs and if an agreement is reached, I will go to Newcastle. "To play with Michael Owen would be great and there is also Obafemi Martins who is a top striker. "The Premier League is attractive and some of my Ivorian friends are there so I would be in good company." Newcastle are seemingly taking a keen interest in the French market with St Etienne's Bafetimbi Gomis also thought to high on Keegan's list of targets. Keegan is understood to have been in France last weekend to check on potential new signings and he attended the PSG-St Etienne clash with both Diane and Gomis playing - but neither scored. http://img127.imageshack.us/img127/5693/dianeqi1.jpg

I'm very happy with this, more chances for more players and tactically better replacements
-
omg. Did I read this right: Smith is reportedly earning £62,000 a week? WTF.

End of thread (and dodgy speculation hopefully).

And NONE of the staff/club officials involved in any of those deals are at the club now. And all, bar Duff, have actually left the club. Sound argument like. this is one of the big reasons I'm hopeful of a bright future, yes we'll make the odd mistake but the ambition is there, Mike just has to match it with his wallet....
-
God I hope that happens. Keegan has said and we already know thats how he deals in the transfer market - by announcing a press conference and showing the player then. I think we'll only know about a transfer if its failed, a la modric. Makes things more exciting doesn't it?
-
...only if the gel is purchased in Newcastle
-
Got to keep the guy but the only reason he's going to stay is by declaring our intent in the transfer market, he's been great since he came back so even if he's fit for half of the games next season he'll be worth the money I think our bid for Modric shows we have the money, just nobody knows how much....
