Right, he goes past 4 players and the goalie. The first one is purely down to luck, the defender misses his tackle and Messi holds him off as he barges into him. The second one is great skill and pace to stay away from him. Third one (The left back) never makes any attempt to tackle him, absolute statue. Fourth one (Centre half) lunges in with Bramblesque naivety - and while Messi almost knocks it past him, he still gets a toeend on the ball and that gives him the angle to go around the goalie and takes all the pace off it for him to retain control. Fith one (goalie) is candy from a baby. Some great skill in there but for me there is far, far too much luck involved for it to be considered a great goal. Maradona was in complete control from the moment he got the ball, no-one came close to taking it off him. BTW, if goals against defenders as shite as these are allowed to count as great, David Nugent vs Palace earlier on this season was better IMO. I agree, great goal but didn't exactly blow me away..

Do people not even realise whenever an article says 'an insider' or 'a source close to the club' it basically means its utter mythical bullshit. Can you imagine if Owen was sold and only £12m?! Hes played something like 10 games, scoring 7 and all the way throughout his comeback hes been quoted nearly weekly as saying how much he'd love to get back playing for nufc. Hes said countless times how guilty he's felt about his injury and one of the first things he thought of when his injury occurred was the newcastle fans. I gurantee Owen wouldn't leave us, people have really short memories, especially on this board.

Hiddink would be my main choice out of those, with Sam 2nd but we're simply not going to sack Roeder so this is pretty much a pointless exercise... Why do we always have to write '___ in, ____ out?' Why not have both players, we need to bulk up the squad and need as many as possible. Yes you can't please everyone but injuries will happen, squads will rotate and their wages will never stop. Euro games (I hope) will also require a constant stream of backups too. Butt has arguably been our best player this season, along with milner, given and possibly martins. Keep Butt and get Sidwell in and we can focus entirely on defence and attacking transfers.

Think of the possible positives it can bring You can only laugh at what comes next on the Nufc rollercoaster and I still have faith we'll spend relatively big in the summer. He HAS to get lots of players in, he has no choice, his job is on the line and the natives are getting restless

Top post Stevie, always enjoy what you write on here. I agree with everything you said. I've wanted to be patient, I've constantly supported Roeder but reality seems to be catching up with me now. Its like we're already half way down a slide and theres no way of climbing back up that slippery slope unless BIG changes are made..... I'm just scared yet another new manager will take a good 2 years to get "settled". Not a good time to be a toon supporter right now.
