  1. if he's got the slightest bit of sense he'll sit the team deep and play our paciest players to try and get them on the break - if our defensive line leaves any space in behind kane & son will crucify us
  2. he reminds me of what i'd be like if i lied on my CV and got a job i wasn't quite qualified for and knew it, i'd always be on the defensive looking for criticism and trying to make excuses for it until i was found out he knows he's not earned it and he knows he's not good enough, unlike pardew who i reckon (at the time) thought he was good enough but just made excuses because he couldn't comprehend it wasn't down to him
  3. the only other thing you could do with shelvey would be to take him out of the firing line by playing two DMs behind him to cover all the space he leaves and protect the CBs, everton are p[laying a version of this actually but with better players obvs...along the lines of back 5 DM DM Shelves Fraser ASM Wilson problem with that is he's not really dynamic enough to get up and down in support of the forwards but would arguably be a better option under bacon because shelvey being in the team as part of a two or sitting deep just means long balls...he has improved his fitness and stamina somewhat under bacon, imo, so it might be a better option overall as long as the wide players and shelvey were tunned to play it early and into space either longstaff would cover that position better as well tbh...problem is we only have hayden who can play DM don't we?
  4. bruce will flog shelvey to death thinking he'll repeat his 5 (?) goal streak that won us a few games last season, not understanding we were keeping clean sheets last season and shelvey has never repeated form like that in his career afaik
  5. aye, there's a FM trait in fans that if you're not beating the world at age 18 then you're finished
  6. agree with kaka, given what bruce has done to our CBs if shelvey is on the pitch he needs to be sitting on the CBs looking for the ball problem is you then need the other CMs to be mobile and have enough nouse to be able to move into space and make angles for passes otherwise it's hoofball all the way
  7. Just seen the Newport result. I'll say one thing for the cunt, he's had more luck in cup draws in 12 months than I can remember any of our other managers having.
  8. i agree we'd be better than them with a real manager, for sure, but we don't have one so it's completely moot as they'll be better than us over the season unless bacon gets sacked
  9. Played Man Utd off the park on Saturday Yeah that's absolute s*** tbh. Made good, progressive moves in the market and Hodgsons system is nice and settled. They're a counter attacking team, that's not the same thing. Tactically they were outstanding at the weekend, we'll not see anything like it under Bacon. Imagine saying a team with 20% possession played someone off the park. They executed a counter-attacking game plan to perfection and benefited from a poor team selection and dodgy pen. It's Palace ffs. Newcastle are better. I didn't say they played you off the park tbf, but they completely outplayed you tactically so it's splitting hairs really imo. There's more than once way to skin a cat, Nostaljaer should try and work out how to win games without penalties. That'd be a good start for him.
  10. Something tells me he's not gonna make it at the top level
  11. Every time I see Wolves behind in a game Nuno changes things and flips the game. They don't always reverse it obviously, but it's very impressive to see.
  12. Played Man Utd off the park on Saturday Yeah that's absolute shit tbh. Made good, progressive moves in the market and Hodgsons system is nice and settled. They're a counter attacking team, that's not the same thing. Tactically they were outstanding at the weekend, we'll not see anything like it under Bacon.
  13. The richest league in the world ladies and gentlemen, and this shit is still being tolerated. Astonishing. Hoping Bruce comes out as an anti masker pro brexit cunt so I'm justified in hunting him down like the dog he is.
  14. someone should contrast that with the way palace set up against manyoo, was borderline perfect the entire game...defence and midfield moved together never leaving a gap bigger than 10 yards or so and completely shutting down bruno et al as they couldn't get in between
  15. Bruce has this annoying knack of facing teams at the right time a la West Ham last week. That was a free 3 points that papered over some horrible cracks. Our CM options are abysmal.
  16. This has been bothering me a bit. Hoffenheim qualified for the CL for the first time in 17/18 when Joelinton was in Austria. He came back from loan and played the next season. It's a little misleading to claim he played for a champions league team imo.
  17. my boro mate reckons that's a positive
  18. Urghh man. What's this bollocks, who's she? Some twitter account that was ridiculously pro saudi about everything. Just look at the profile man, British, Saudi flags and a rose. Ah.
  19. Exactly this. Since when does not considering Caulkin some kind of journalistic Messiah count as abuse. He's good at what he does, but is far too reliant on single sources. What other sources did you expect him to get in the nufc takeover like
  20. his good spell came in rafa's best period when the style of play changed not long after ki was injured that season - he was playing quite advanced but was well supported by the players around him at the time as everything had started clicking with Schar/Lejeune dictating play from the back freeing other players to get further forward so tiring seeing the same arguments year after year that the players should just suddenly be better totally in isolation from what's going on around them under bruce we have and probably always will play with a huge gap between defence/midfield and attack...that's gonna lead to wild variations in performance in both the team and players, it clearly doesn't suit longstaff
  21. Exactly how it will play out. As Mojo said... Gullit - won stuff elsewhere, came here, tragic. Dalglish - won stuff elsewhere, came here, tragic Souness - won stuff elsewhere (even Blackburn and after destroying Liverpool), came here, tragic Sir Bobby Robson - won stuff everywhere, came here, did amazing but still won nothing. We are a very special club. Nick De Marco - acted on behalf of Derby Couty in their battle against EFL over player registration and the sale of their Pride Park stadium - and won. Took on NUFC, huffing glue under the bridge 2021. Shaheed Fatima - clients include the UN Refugee Agency; World Bank Group as well as experience working on behalf of the UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Took on NUFC, working behind the counter in Greggs 2021. We are a very special club.
  22. his mate is a fictional character, or luke edwards...bruce will never match anything that rafa's team played at the end of his tenure imo
