  1. can someone try and get a quiet word with mitrovic and explain pardew to him?
  2. Don't disagree with anything in that post actually. He doesn't have good close control and does rely on pace and strength to beat players. He's not a good player on the eye but is generally fairly effective I agree with this as well, he's a frustrating player, perhaps it's because he seems to offer very little defensively (imo) while at the same time rarely dominating in an attacking sense.
  3. Done in the sense that he's fucking useless for us as the rest of the team can't function without a presence up top.
  4. He'll be shit as a target man but he could certainly run the channels and fight for balls there with people looking to join in play. Would offer a lot more than Cisse in general play imo.
  5. Thing with Dyer was he had pace and good close control so he could run at people and commit them at speed. Sissoko is basically limited to kicking it into space and using his long stride to eat up the ground. Hated Dyer for obvious reasons but I'd take him in a heartbeat over Sissoko.
  6. Riviere looks like he'll never finish a chance as long as he lives but as long as he's being paired with Perez or De Jong I'd prefer him to this version of Cisse because he'll run the channels, stretch defences and make space for Wijnaldum, Perez or whoever to exploit. Cisse looks well and truly done in the PL.
  7. Dress sense aside I'm not massively concerned about this lad yet as long as the team starts performing and he's integrated slowly but successfully. Considering the money we spent (by our standards) it's unlikely he'll be frozen out but it happened with Cabella. Important he doesn't get a lengthy injury like Cabella did I guess, so he can take the chance when it comes.
  8. would like to see an extended run in the team for him now and plus double figures by the end of the season, new contract ASAP love the kid
  9. Its funny when someone does it the first time, not when other people copy. Also, Mbemba is a smiling, lovable African while Thauvin is perceived to be an arrogant French man Should have just turned up with his lass alongside him to really ratchet up the hate...
  10. This is very close to the truth. Mind you, IRL I've never come close to meeting people on the same that have similar ideas about football as I do vs. this board. Either we all know the crack and everyone else is fucking stupid or we're all suffering from a collective delusion.
  11. I was with it until the GTA cover and then the "wah it's got girls in it bit" which I just didn't get.
  12. Said since the first time I saw him he only works in this league if he's scoring 15+ goals a season because he looks so off the pace everywhere else he'll continue nothing. Looks a really bad fit for the league.
  13. Good today, but somehow not great
  14. yes and no http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/607684/Nile-Ranger-still-no-future-Blackpool-Neil-McDonald
  15. i'm sorry but vurn really should have just made shit happen, thrown out all the preparation with the coaching team and done whatever he wanted to make something happen, unlike every cunt else on the who are apparently able to piss about hiding from the ball no wonder TCD is such a fan of AP AP: "make something happen vurn" VA: "what does that mean boss? i need specific instructions on how to play, what the tactical plan is, where i should position myself, where others are going to position when i've got the ball, how we're going to move the ball and so on" AP: "you can work it out on the fucking bench son"
  16. Swap both the cunts and get Benny back.
  17. OK I'm out. We both know you're wrong on this but you'll never admit it and keep referring to intangible things like "being progressive" when you don't know what he was instructed to do. Ah but then yeah he should have just ignored what he was told, I keep forgetting that.
  18. Was wondering about that comment as well, it's fucking awful most of the time.
  19. I'd be happy (so to speak) with not being out of the game within a few minutes of kick off and going on to at least worry them with a goal or two, hopefully for Mitrovic. Imperative we go into the Norwich game full of ourselves and twat them.
  20. Carry the ball forward. Ask your team mates to come deep or make a run. Anita's been too content to pass it to Chancel. Colback's a similar character. Too many of those types in the squad. You don't have a clue what he's "content" to do. Again, prior to the 6 games or whatever since McLaren came Vurn played nothing like this whatsoever, he was much more progressive in his positioning and use of the ball. So he's either decided he couldn't be arsed anymore and fancied being an auxiliary CB at 4' 11" or he's been told to play a certain way and did it. One makes sense, the other does not.
  21. The explanation is that it's blatantly a massive crap lie. FIFA portions probs short a bit cash.
  22. How fucking much was he being paid like, if that's the 'final payment'?
  23. Fucking weird stuff. New coaching team come in and give players instructions on how they want to play and institute a new style. The only bit that came close to working was Vurn, in the sense he could do what was being asked. It's not down to him the overall system was balls. But aye, after 6 games he should just have said fuck it and did what he wanted Had identical conversations about Pardew's teams post 5th finish where I was being told that rather than stand in two rigid lines of 4 twatting the ball up Cabs and friends should 'take the initiative' if it was Pardew's instructions. When has football ever worked like that?
  24. Available outball to play up to made such a difference for the midfielders, we couldn't really knock it long or over when Cisse was there as he has no pace or strength. We still used a variation of that splitting tactic, mind, Anita just went over as fullback when Janmaat pushed up, instead of directly splitting. I wouldn't give up on that tactic, tbh, I think player confidence was really getting in the way of our possession build up but mixing it up with more direct play should really relieve the pressure on our other attackers more. It's something we should use to mix it up and should be re-integrated slowly over the next couple of matches, as long as we've got a more capable CM on the ball to come and link play. I would disagree that it was down to an available outball in the case of Anita. Anita only completed 60% of his passes which indicates a lot of those balls weren't on. We went more direct in every sense. Anita carried the ball further then he has this season. Wasn't content to "make things tick" by passing it to defenders, he tried to get it to midfielders and attackers. Definitely told to be more direct with his passing. I like the way you're sure he was told to go more direct but still say he wasn't content to 'make things tick' thus implying he uniliterally chose to play a certain way before this. He's clearly a pretty aware and intelligent footballer and imo has been following instructions to the letter the entire time, so don't credit the coaching team with a good performance and blame him for all the s***/average/poor ones. Eh? I would like our players to understand the game and change as it develops. I hate players who show no impetus. i.e. when you're 2-0, take responsibility and try to make things happen. Not continue to pass it to CB's and hide behind managers instructions. He had to execute the plan and he was better. He's going to have to find a middle stall in his passing however. He only completed 20 of his 33 passes. You're implying that his earlier performances were his own choice and the Chelsea game he was told to play differently. I'm firmly of the belief he's being strictly following instructions all along. It's really very simple.
