  1. oscar, mata, silva, aguero....there's loads man, granted none of them are playing as CM's but then on the other hand i don't think anyone is advocating that role for anita either
  2. mapou and sissoko man highly rated as fuck, linked with allsorts, and choose us
  3. he has been terrible business but he's not a terrible player if he'd signed for liverpool under rodgers, for example, i doubt his size would be an issue given he's been brought up on pass and move football and looks very good at it too He left Ajax for this. Got to feel sorry for him. What a mess he's made of his first move in his career, hopefully it gets back on track here when Pardew fucks off. i could see good football in the lad last year when he had that little purple patch around new year time before being dropped at the first sign of new signings and cabaye coming back as you say though, he couldn't have picked a worse club in the PL bar maybe allardyce's WH and pulis's stoke

  5. i think he's always been able to exploit weaknesses in the teams he's up against myself and negate what they're good at...he just didn't do it when he was with us, otherwise he's strong enough to use tactics to his advantage in either nullifying a better team, or exploiting a shit one either way we're fucked
  6. Touchè. eh? i as that question from the pov that pardew only talks about 2 things in the wake of the disaster that was last season, new players and fitness...nowt wrong with his tactics or selections or fuck all like, so he hasn't got any new players in but did they at least look fit enough to compete against poorer teams, 'cause that's basically his only hope for success isn't it?
  7. 6 just now, 60/40 to go down if you like, still time for things to change so not going all out an 8 or 9 yet myself
  8. allardyce might be a cunt, but he's tactically astute enough to know how to take the piss out of pardew on our turf (it's not difficult) only way we win is if hatem or someone decides from the kick off they're gonna have a stormer and we hit them before they have chance to enact their gameplan
  9. Don't think we will, mainly because the teams that have come up are even worse than the ones who went down. we escaped last year due to QPR and Wigan simply being worse than us, generally doesn't happen too often that like
  10. you'd have to be dumber than a fucking post not to be at least considering us as relegation candidates like as many excuses as some people have made for pardew, and as much as they believe he'll "turn it around" based on nothing but hope, he's still the same sack of shit we saw last year and he's not been given any new players in the summer to bail him out said this last season as things were going south and i'll say it again, we need to see something from the man to show us he's an actual football manager who can makes tactical and personnel changes that will have a positive effect on how we play football and the results we get....alls he did last year was cry about new players and he's doing it again i'd rather him say "i'll work with what i've got", go the fuck away and come up with something new to try and put in a shift against west ham...however you know he'll spend the week talking about cabaye, about players we won't sign then he'll get to west ham, throw in the same players with the same tactics and we'll get played off the park by an allardyce team...he'll then start whittering on about new players in the press again repeat 'til we're relegated or he's sacked fucking wretched manager
  11. aye, stripping away his authority and bringing in kinnear were the things that made him utterly inept last season as well
  12. In dropping him and publicly stating he's had his head turned hasn't pardiola fucked any chance of a bidding war? We need to get shot of him now, simple as that no? There will be no coming back from this for cabaye if we keep rejecting bids.
  13. reckon they'll use 500,000 of whatever they get to pay off the agents for gomis and make it look like they've blown a wedge on him from the cabaye money, and people will buy it
  14. The stumping other managers for a full season was a sarcastic comment as you claimed they never sussed him till last season but if his tactics were so one dimensional, why did it last a full season? Why couldn't managers during that season figure him out? How didn't Brendan Rodgers figure out that we would turn up, press his team all over the pitch then hit them with slick counter attacking football when they gave away posession? Why couldn't fergie work we would target their centre backs and would use the long ball to good effect? Why couldn't a lot of teams break us down? It wasn't simply a season of wonder goals and getting bailed out by two players. Our tactics were spot on, our organisation was brilliant, our work rate was superb and confidence was sky high. We hit a few bad spells and took a few maulings but we bounced back and showed good character when we did. Nobody expected us to achieve what we did, expectations went through the roof the next summer, sign more players, we are in Europe, start of something good again, the whole city was given a massive lift, you could just feel it around town during the season and Europe had everyone dreaming again. Christ, at one point we were even thinking about Champions League!!! Unfortunately it all came crumbling away last season and turned into an absolute nightmare, atmosphere had the opposite effect, you were going to games more anxious and worried at what the outcome might be, you could sense the nerves and tension. That's why i've said a good start is crucial this season, a win against west ham would be massive and then back it up against Fulham to get the confidence flowing and the belief factor back around the city, kick on from there and anything is possible again. On the phone so can't make a full reply but leaving aside the amount of things that went his way that season to answer the above overall point: we only played each team twice Brett. As you say we were organised, full of confidence and had strikers in fine form. Last season was always the test cause we were no longer the surprise and teams looked at how we finished 5th then tried to counter how we did it. It worked, Pardew was worked out and he had no answer to it other than crying about new players all the time. Can't believe this still needs explaining like. Imo he knew he'd been found out last season too, that's why his breakdown was so spectacular.
  15. "Still no praise for Pardew, canny. 'Clogging style' had other managers stumped for a full season. Aye sounds legit" Brett. Can't quote properly atm. Anyhow on this, Pardew deserves credit for what he did, and he's been given it tbf. When you boil that season down though his main successes were organisation and player management. He did nothing clever tactically which he paid the price for last season. As for 'stumping' other managers are you truly that clueless? We were outplayed for a lot of games that season, we just had 2 very in form strikers scoring goals often of their own creation. Plus Ben Arfa came back at a great time to add another dimension to the team, the same dimension Pardew has gone out of his way to abandon I might add. So if he is taking the credit for 5th and assuming that being outplayed and relying on goals from nothing from ba and Cisse was his tactical masterplan then I'm more than welcome to credit the guy. Unlike you however I could see through it when it was working, therefore he deserves the full extent of the criticism he's had for being a poor, one dimensional and outdated coach since he was found out.
  16. "they" were expected to fail i said, let me retract and say "not expected to succeed" if that helps you i've come to the conclusion you know absolutely nothing about football brett, nothing at all Just like Newcastle weren't expecting success when they haven't replaced Carroll and spent the 35 million, they've sold Enrique, they've sold Nolan, they've released Barton and brought in 'jokers' like Cabaye for 4 million? Works both ways. Just your basically trying to go down the line of we fluked the 5th because of a few good players. The original point which was made 'you need a good manager to have a very good season' is basically what Pardew proved to be incorrect, like i say, if he is in fact poor. I think your trying to deflect away praise for Pardew for our season we finished 5th, people don’t want to believe he actually did it. He, Alan Pardew, got a side who were the underdogs, fighting for a champions league spot. No two ways about it. brett, in fucking crayons mate from tron: "but you need a good manager who has a squad which is tailored to his preferred style of play. We have neither." when we finished 5th we were arguably split between the promotion and staying up team (pardew's style of cloggers) and some of the new blood like cabaye...he played a very basic, static game that relied heavily on the strikers making something from direct balls...ba and cisse did him proud that season however it was very easy to work out and when he was required to adapt the following season failed beyond human failure, there should be a statue to commemorate his failure tbh again brett, you either know fuck all about football or are now too invested in defending pardew
  17. "they" were expected to fail i said, let me retract and say "not expected to succeed" if that helps you i've come to the conclusion you know absolutely nothing about football brett, nothing at all
  18. i'd like the facepalm explained brett, disgrace tbh Facepalm explaination: Basically Swansea have had one good year under Laudrup, finished 7th. We had our good year under Pardew finished 5th. He then went on to fail last season. We don't know how Laudrup will get on this season yet but Pardew has proved as well with a 'half decent squad you can still have a good season' but everyone is in sort of agreement he isn’t a good manager which makes the original point incorrect (you need a good manager), if it is to believed he is in fact poor. well, as tron was pointing out swansea were essentially a new promoted team in their second season in the PL, laudrup came in and signed jokers like michu for 2m and they were expected to fail....alas they thrived and won a cup due to have a manager who knew how to coach good football, rotate a small squad, and succeed when it looks like the odds were against him, that type of thing contrast wtih AP who went into in his best ever season with a plan a...it worked then it started to fail, badly, only he was lucky enough to have 2 double figures strikers hitting form at the right time...actually that wasn't quite enough, it took ben arfa to force him to play him and embark on a period of quality football for say 8 matches that we'd never seen the entire season the same system he abandoned at the start of the next season to such wonderful effect i don't know man, your wish to believe pardew will "turn it around" seems to know no bounds, not even those of reality
  19. wullie the club is a company as much as you might not like to hear it, freddy mortgaged our future and now we're paying for it that's the simple fact...it'd be great if fat mike was benevolent enough to forget the 100m he spent wiping out freddy buying owen and luque but apparently he's not
