same here, completely torn over the whole thing - want the players to succeed but the team to fail :/
-
you think he'd score at the same rate against PL defenders in a team that doesn't create chances for its strikers?
-
got an 8 fold yesterday after a looooooooooooong losing run, thank fuck
-
i'd argue some of the results this season have been down which of the opposition teams have shown up tbh, we've been fairly consistently shit throughout
-
i feel like the labour party, nothing you say makes any difference

well exactly, he's certainly not the player we're trying to make him, just like mitro couldn't be the player that rafa wanted him to be i remember when we signed him people from germany likened him to firmino, and that's what he looks like to me...playing as a deep/false nine roaming about looking for the ball and moving about into space i'm sure bruce will get the best out of him
-
it's mitro under mcclaren again really, astonishing the people telling us to bin him off can't see the commonalities

Javier Manquillo (now playing for Celta de Vigo)

i never understood the massive amount of criticism he got tbph, he had the odd howler here and there but most of the time i've seen him he's been solid or better than -
we're a cup team if ever i saw one mind, except we can't score goals for shit
-
That's good. I had to google it though. you use the google, i'm impressed

old man yells at coud

better than playing RAM anyway, he's looked awful on the right the entire time he's been there, if he has to play LCM in a 3 to be in the right place i'd rather see that as he's going to get in better positions from there than he ever will on the right
-
He can put in a decent cross tbf, just has a heavy touch and can't carry the ball. Yeah he can, but he hasn't today at all. They're letting him have the ball as much as we want man.

Looks like 5-3-2 to me with Almiron left of the 3 in the middle. Looks more comfortable there than he does on the right. Who knew? Shame about Dummet really.
-
Ahahaha what's he doing with Almiron. Fucking idiot.

that's the difference between elite managers and PFM type garbage, guys like rafa will improve everything across the board...obviously a handful will not take to methods or personalities and in the main top managers will improve most of the players and performances average PFM's like bruce will improve a handful if they're lucky, some will stay about the same if they're lucky and others will collapse into oblivion i'd say we've seen improvement from shelvey so far, but i've yet to entirely buy into that, but beyond i'd say what's been noticeable is he's destroyed almiron is in the process of destroying joelinton looks like destroying sean longstaff thrown Ki in the bin completely people like hayden, clark, fede have done well under him but i'm not sure you could class any as an improvement on where they were under rafa Almiron and Longstaff - fair comments. Joelinton just looks gash - not sure you can blame Bruce for that. I disagree about Joelinton. I personally won't judge him until Bruce sorts the system or we get another manager that gets him chances nearer goal and he starts missing them. Carroll, with all his experience, looks equally shit standing up on his own fighting for hoofs against 2-3 defenders. But let's judge a 23 year old new to the country as we always do. Pepe at Arsenal presumably shit and needs binning as well. 1 goal in 17 though. I mean it's pretty terrible for a striker. He played fairly well against Spurs, but apart from that he's done fuck all really. Someone needs to show me a stat on how many chances have been created for him. i can see with my eyes what's going on like, don't need stats to tell me, but it won't be pretty i'd have thought again i'll ask anyone booting off with joelinton to watch carroll in the same position and tell me what changes

As soon as someone scores a goal they're deemed to be playing well. Um ... okay. I notice it's the same thing whenever the team manages a result no matter how badly they've played. The performance is just swept under the carpet. We are eventually going to pay dearly for so many players playing so poorly in general and the subsequent terrible performances overall. I've said elsewhere it's just Pardew 5th season again. Shit performances, 2nd best every game. Keep it tight and nick a goal. You run out of road playing that way, ours will be when the defenders stop scoring or we start shipping goals.

why? he'd thrive at a club that plays modern, attacking football imo
-
Well done Captain Hindsight. things like this that make me miss rafa so much, he'd protect a player for long term benefits rather than look to the next game like this knacker
-
classic bit of NO there, arguing over absolutely fuck all
-
he's really unlikely to in this system tbh, looks stifled - for all the complaining about "boring rafa" the system really clicked around the time longstaff came in and we looked a good, cohesive unit going forwards as well as being solid at the back this is not going to happen under bruce i'm afraid, he might if he scrapes closer to safety he might change things a bit i suppose but we'll ship more goals as a result
