  1. was impressed with Spain, their defenders especially for a change - they were pressing so high in attack for the vast majority of the game i felt sure the Germans would just pick them off due to their pack of pace at the back but they never looked in doubt Alonso made some great interceptions, one of the best games I've seen him play for Spain albeit not with the ball at his feet so much a lot will depend on Robben come Sunday, he'll have to stretch Spain to the edge for them to have any chance of winning it - if Spain manage to use Busquets correctly and double up on him whenever Holland look to break i think it's Spain's game
  2. Christ, Pompy must be really fucked! Unless James was on 140K a week. try that again man
  3. :fwap: +1 agreed, looked good....box to box, won't fit in with us mind running and all that
  4. that aek one move the puma into the black area on the shoulder level with the badge and it's a great shirt, would have loved that for the toon
  5. can you not just add "pain" as an option?
  6. oh dear, i've always thought taylor would do well in a settled defence and good coaching seems like we'll probably find out - he'll make the england squad next season if that move goes through
  7. me too, or 2 more Spain wins with a few more Villa goals!!
  8. and Godsmark, Baheng and Danquah, but its not as if Sky would notice these things. Lets not forget Butt as well. no, lets
  9. from bbc: "Manchester City have been linked with a £16.5m move for Cologne's Germany forward Lukas Podolski."
  10. Is there actual pictures of him training? aye another young(ish) Frenchman to add to the collection huh? wonder if this ones any good
  11. So what you're saying is you want a return to Communism, Stalin and queuing for bread then?
  12. for terrible style of play see: England WC 2010 for the dutch see: johnnypd above; the dutch are not playing pretty (losing) football, they're countering and are in the final of the world cup
  13. what do you need Hawkeye for? the officials spotted it and Suarez was sent off.
  14. this is not jingoistic but you're clearly not English right?
  15. at people not liking the dutch style of play absolutely fucking hilarious
  16. Ahahahahha, summed up nicely by the Fiver: "When Uruguay striker Luis Suarez fisted a goal-bound shot off the line in the closing seconds of his team's World Cup quarter-final against Ghana, a number of things happened before everyone in the world completely lost the run of themselves and started bleating self-righteously and wailing: "But what about the children? The children, dammit!" Suarez was sent off and Ghana were awarded a penalty, as the rules of football dictate. Asamoah Gyan mistook his spot-kick for Soccer AM's cross-bar challenge, won a T-shirt and prompted a shoot-out in which two of his team-mates also missed spot-kicks and his goalkeeper showed a demonstrable lack of research, resulting in Ghana's exit from the tournament. The blame for all this Ghanaian self-harm was laid squarely at the door of Suarez, who demonstrated his obvious remorse much as you'd expect: Riverdancing a celebratory jig in the tunnel, before getting carried shoulder-high around the pitch by tut-tutting team-mates and flipping metaphorical Vs at the sanctimonious hordes of mouth-foaming imbeciles who are now calling for football teams to be awarded goals when the ball hasn't crossed the line. Because they do a similar thing in rugby, see? A sport where constant knee-jerk tampering with the rules has completely destroyed the sport in the past 12 months."
  17. EVS never had an issue, he's been one of the most accomplished keepers with the ball at his feet his whole career. Given I honestly don't agree that he improved that much but yeah, maybe an improvement over the 10 or so years he was here.
  18. The pricks ruined every South American he's bought. The way he fucked up Veron and is doing so with Anderson is criminal. He buys these players that quite clearly don't fit into 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 and then they inevitably flop. Anderson was brilliant when he was given freedom as a total AM, running at defences and causing havoc. Now he's just been shoehorned and moulded into a workhorse midfielder. Wouldn't say he fucked up Veron, i actually thought Veron did alright at Man United. Totally agree with your comments on Anderson though, he's lost his edge massively since he moved to Man United, has done from being a huge attacking threat to a poor mans Darren Fletcher. doesn't stand up, in his first (two?) season(s) he was all energy and box to box play...looked like he was going to be a superstar - without looking it up i seem to recall he never scored a goal during that period fergie probably recognised he wasn't gonna fill scholes's boots and acted accordingly Meant more in Porto days although his scoring record has never been brilliant. I see what you are saying but he and Man Utd were definitely better when he was playing that role than what he does now. Wouldn't shock me to see him sold this summer anyway or used a make weight. he was 18 when he signed for manyoo no? anyway agree: send him to the toon!!!!
