  1. can you name me another keeper who has started with a problem kicking has gone on to overcome it? they never do it's about technique and you can't make that better if it doesn't exist at the start - lots of keepers look VERY uncomfortable with the ball at their feet and will do so their whole careers clear enough for you?
  2. good call, as is the back page etc... you'd need viable places to sell it
  3. This will never go ahead if the SBR Foundation don't want the money. Would have no meaning to the average toon fan otherwise, and wouldn't be able to shift out enough shirts to earn in the initial investment. No offence taken, anyone doing it regardless of not giving the earnings to a great charity would be mental. This thread is just to see if there'd be any interest whatsoever in such a shirt, would be an absolutely shit thing to do talking to the foundation about something like this without even knowing if fans would get it. yeah we're talking the same thing here - if the shirt is smart as fuck and has SBR foundation plastered on it and his name on the back etc... then i think it'd sell like hot cakes if it's a smart shirt but has no SBR foundation stuff on it but maybe only a loose "association or endorsement" tag from them then i think people would see it as the equivalent of buying a cheap fake shirt on holiday Yeah, this won't happen if the SBR foundation wouldn't be interested in it. and if they are you'd be laughing but it'd have to be a clear partnership imo with their name all over it, like i said vague "support" won't cut it imo if you get that and it gets off the ground sign me up btw
  4. sure i just saw glenn roeder with a pair of binoculars in the crowd
  5. nah, that nike one was the fucking law (with the red numbers) based on an inter shirt i think

  7. because then his club wouldn't care and would accept both bids for the sake of a Euro...for a million they'd be exclusive and only accept one could believe the story if the teams were the other way round btw, not this way
  8. now if you're talking a joint collaboration with the SBR foundation, all official like, and maybe his name on the back and a poignant number then average joe might take it up...probably would in fact however a wishy washy shirt made and sold by nobodies (no offence) with no club crest and most people won't touch it
  9. bin dippers are full of self-righteousness and hate for the yanks at the moment, that'll shift shirts - they'll think it's boys from the fucking blackstuff all over again won't work for the toon, everyone's too numb if you ask me, the hate isn't there yet
  10. what would be the reason, anti-ashley or solely for the foundation? or anti-the new PUMA KIT? anything other than for the foundation alone i think the average fan on the street wouldn't give a fuck, he'll be buying his PUMA tbh
  11. You must hope of getting relegated with the way Gerrard and Torres act in every game. A-ha-ha-ha
  12. not if he can't fuckin kick the ball it's not Erm, what? pretty clear what i said really
  13. With the exception of Jenas all 4 of them were talked about before they hit 18, and Jenas was bought by us and playing at 18 iirc even though he kind of came out of nowhere. Perch is 24 and forest have been down in the 3rd division for a few years. Very, very different caliber of player we're talking about here. Fair points. On a budget like ours you don't get anyone of known calbre, though. Premier League experience is valuable but on a budget like ours it'd as likely mean a dead wood player like Ryan Taylor. If there is any other money to spend, it needs to be going on a striker better than what we have, and a midfielder who can pick a pass, among other things. Oh right yeah, i see and agree. I think there are likely better prospects around the leagues at a younger age, that's when I feel we should be taking the punt not when they're 24. There are exceptions but generally the holds that some who's played pro football will have shown his ability by the time he's that age.
  14. nailed - even ashley when he 'attempted' to start this under wise never actually had the fucking nouse to recruit the best coaches for handling youth players FIRST...what's the point in signing them if they're just gonna rot, as you say?
  15. agreed...from what i hear Vuckic might end up being the biggest disappointment of how we handle younger players should he get a move before we inevitably destroy him for good
  16. oh yeah the purple hooped grandad, kwality...both great strips actually PUMA should have just made an identical version, they'd have cleaned up
  17. you said it's a damn site better than the PUMA one also and agreed about those strips, best two we've had by miles in my time watching the toon
  18. not if he can't fuckin kick the ball it's not
  19. some post a pic, quick! EDIT: just checked and i'm really not sure it's better than the PUMA one, aside from the sponsor obviously...hindsight and time are wonderful things but that strips ropey man
  20. Am a bit wary about this deal. Old bacon face will probably expect Newcastle to give him Haris Vuckic for nowt to show their thanks and appreciation for lending Cleverley. what's his game, Cleverly? passer, mover, shaker, runner? does he have pace 'cause we could really do with adding some more pedestrian midfielders to our collection
