to Kaizero and Tooj - i still fail to see how that makes Klose a 'less worthy' record holder than Ronaldo just because Ronaldo was born with more natural talent and had a difficult upbringing/personal problems my post was facetious, as most of mine are, but the point stands...why the fuck should inspiration beat perspiration? that's what i was saying ronaldinho, what's his excuse? upbringing, dentistry? what? i play football, as probably do you, and for me to see the likes of a Klose stick in there and do what he almost achieved would be inspiration in itself oh and i take it you two are massive defenders of maradona then for all of his transgressions over the years? ticks all the boxes: poor, mental etc.

does anyone know how it started? i often wonder this about many things but at what point did someone get so bored that they sat there and produced 2 choices for a fucking octopus to see what it went for? then continued it and somehow linked it to the german games in the world cup maybe they'd been watching the family guy episode of south park or something

It's a victory for inspiration over perspiration. Shite. Maybe if Ronaldo had more perspiration he'd have been in a position to extend his record further rather than settle into his decline towards being a fat fucking tranny-loving waster (who's a millionairre granted). No time for the Germans per se but fair play to Klose - it's similar to when Lineker came close to beating Charlton's record for England; he was a limited player but if he had of broken it he'd have deserved it simple as that. As it happens if Klose is out I'm happy for my bets but if I had nowt riding on it I'd have been rooting for the lad. I think the term I'm looking for is ignorant. Very smart. How so? I think it's fairly well documented that Ronaldo has had fitness (weight) problems for years directly related to how he lives his life off the pitch. After that knee injury at Inter it was hard for him but look at the player at Barca vs. the player at Real Madrid in terms of his weight. The guy has/had so much talent but his off the field behaviour contributed to the shortening of his career in the top flight(s) of football. I fail to see what's ignorant about that.

don't think the lad will get a look in unless we have an injury crisis - too much focus and pressure on hughton, he doesn't come across as the type who'd drop a plodder like smith or nolan to give the lad a chance to prove himself unless he goes out in a league cup game and runs riot or something, we'll not hear from the lad imo...probably fuck off somewhere the season after and do well Apart from when he dropped Smith to accomodate the much better, less fancied Danny Guthrie? very, very different dude...we're on a hiding to nothing this coming season and hughton will know it - guthrie is/was not a gamble in the championshit but vuckic would be a massive one in the PL That goes without saying but few if any managers have the luxury of being able to throw youngsters in at the deep end so I don't understand why you're insinuating it's a Hughton issue. It's a Hughton issue 'cause (a) he's our fucking manager and (b) primarily because everyone under the fucking sun knows we have a horrible, horrible, slow and decrepit midfield that will get raped next season so any manager worthy of the name would be looking for a solution to that, we potentially have one in this lad and i'm saying Hughton won't have the bottle to drop the senior players to try it out. Doesn't matter two fucks what any other manager does or doesn't do. However didn't Coyle at Bolton rely on throwing Wilshere in now that I think about it? Examples do exist, managers just need to have the balls. I wake up in the night with cold sweats thinking about what PL midfields are going to do to Smith and Nolan next season man. -

agreed, hargreaves & carrick were excellent signings for fergie...even taking into account they way things have gone recently they were instrumental in the 3 consecutive titles they won

Until poor kids in the states start playing football in greater numbers they'll not produce enough players with enough magic to lift them above the ordinary in my opinion - they'll remain what they are now, a well-drilled physical side with good tactical analysis by their coach(es). American kids will gravitate towards their own sports as that's where the money is for them, simples. Plus their own sports are too dominant, as football is with us. As regards African nations they really should develop like Brazil but I honestly think the lack of planning, support and infrastructure at club level there will continue to hold them back. Africa's too chaotic to take football seriously, however if European clubs start linking up with African ones and put money into the game over there they'll be contenders before the Americans will.

Stoke, Wolves, West Brom, West Ham, Bolton, Blackpool & Blackburn are all better propositions than us are they? That was just skimming. Howay man, we're not that fucking bad a prospect for a professional footballer.

Midfielder that can run, striker with pace and some cover on the wing and we'll stay up imo. You're probably right, at least it looks like Hughton has identified our criminal lack of athleticism in midfield... that's what the PL is all about. how does it look like that, from the paper rumours or is there something more substantial i'm unaware of?

which they did, so how exactly is he going to fail? not winning the CL you mean?
-
he won the treble in his first season with Bayern didn't he? No. Inter won the treble. Bayern came into the final because they had Robben & luck. What? So the German double then, yeah sorry. Abject failure, I agree.

It would depend how it was worked out to get 18-1. Am guessing it was about 4-1 for Spain leaving about 11-4 ish on Villa. Be looking at about 11-1 give or take i would say shee-it - just realised on another thread that the likes of Muller, Klose, Forlan etc. can also fuck that bet up my prediction would be Klose, the Germans will be going apeshit trying to get him goals in his last WC -
arrrrgh you're right, never thought that Suarez or Klose could fuck my bet now...

If he is joint with 1 other his odds are halved, think thats how golf do it for places Cheers. Well better than nowt. Got Villa TGS and Spain WCW for £80, would be nice to have me £60 up from the WC. It would also be my biggest betting win. Anyone know how that affects double bets? I've got Villa top scorer & Spain to win at 18/1 man, cheeky fuckers better not start dropping those odds if he doesn't get outscored by Schneider.
