Just idiocy. If we lose, we get even more deflated before the real derby as well as giving the Sunderland players a confidence boost. If we win, we'll only pump up the Sunderland players so much more and gift the motivation to defeat us in the match that really matters. Lose/Lose for us, Win/Win for them.

Townsend 80 apps 6 goals 6 assists Obertan 84 apps 4 goals 10 assists Obertan is complete dog shit obvs, but stats wise he's running him close like Obertan doing his for an arguably shitter team as well.

Pats went into that game with an 18-0 record. The Giants came in as a wildcard, with a 10-6 record. Oh and no way Eli Manning was/is better than Tom Brady. I have no idea what you're getting at? In what way were they the 'best team?' The best team for that one off game? Yes. Better team and quarterback over the course of 16-20 games? No way. I love the playoff set up for American sports, where you have different conferences and a s*** load of teams. I don't see the need for it in England, when we have league systems that work well, with the current format. The record books show that we won like. The fact you think that's what this argument is about says it all. Yeah. He's either somehow totally missed the point or being a hilarious WUM..... He just wants some time away from the wife.

We almost added play-offs to our league. We're further along than you already.

Mike is going up in my estimation.

My main issue with the amount of games isn't really play-off related though. I feel that because the league is so long, games matter less in the beginning and middle as teams always feel they can catch up later no matter what. With fewer games they'd all matter that little bit more.

Already mentioned I can't get into hockey or basket, even though I want to, because there's far too many games. Baseball is a shitty ass sport so they can do whatever they want

Booooorrrrriiiiiing. Too many games in the PL tbh.
-
Only way to truly fix it is for people to stop using fucking Tapatalk like it's 2003 or something. Fuck.
-
Denver, man. How can anyone not want this in their lives? I don't even care about either of the teams playing but fuckkkkkk that shit was tense.
-
You don't need 38 weeks of games though. Fewer games makes things more exciting. That said it would never happen like that, because money.
-
Easy fix, split the PL into conferences. Add some of the more historical teams to the mix as well. Spread the joy.

Fuck is that sig, thomas? Bit early to campaign for that tbh, you'll fizzle out like Trump eventually will and see Jeb! (Mike) take the throne.

This thread has shades of NUFC54's horrible questions.

I'd personally take Mourinho over McClaren tbh. Dunno about you guys.

Will donate after the weekend

Oh, don't get me wrong, I hate any "serial" play-offs. And I can't watch hockey or basketball (even though I want to) because there are so many games and they clearly don't matter at all. I quite liked oldtypes (I think it was him) draft proposal though. The way football is broken with regards to rich clubs fucking shit up is a global phenomenon though, and I don't think it will ever be fixed and we're more likely to see a global "super league" than economic restrictions.

Why not give an argument against play-offs rather than snide comments. Would be a lot more interesting. Too many reasons to go over, but first of all it's not as fair as having the team that wins the league being champions. It also makes league games less important and less interesting as they don't really matter that much. The league is also more interesting as it is, with it's many tiers of trying to reach CL, EL, avoiding relegation (EL not being a priority is UEFA's fault, not the PL) than it would be with a play off. Finally, play offs doesn't even solve the problem it sets out to do unless you start implementing a whole other bunch of rules, the rich teams would still win it most of the time. A better way to "fix" the PL is for UEFA to make the EL actually matter financially and give CL places to the FA cup. To be perfectly honest, I just really enjoy play-offs I'm aware they won't singlehandedly fix the issues within the sport. I think a compromise could be made though, with a play-off system in place for the 4th (and possibly 3rd) CL spot. Something to give the middle part of the league something more to play for in the last third of the season.
