  1. I don't think there's any chance he can continue at the top level. Doesn't those who survive sudden cardiac arrest get a pacemaker due to the likelyhood of it happening again?
  2. Went with £10 on England -1 so I'm cheering for England in this one.
  3. My father died of sudden heart failure. In my darkest hours I've thought about what it might have looked like for my uncle who was with him, as in if there were any signs or if it could have been caught sooner if he had paid more attention. I can't believe how sudden that was, and abrupt. Life is fleeting. One second we're here and in the next we're no more. I wish I still didn't now know what sudden heart failure looked like. I'm just glad it seems Eriksen will recover. Absolutely harrowing. Kjær probably saved his life with his quick actions.
  4. 9 odds for Turkey?! Have a free £20, Unibet
  5. Winner: France Runner Up: Germany Golden Boot Winner: Benzema Player of the Tournament: Benzema Young Player of the Tournament: Mbappe How far will England get: Round of 16 - They will face the second place in the group of death, so either France, Germany or Portugal, which means bye bye. Surprise Team of the Tournament: Denmark First manager to be sacked post tournament: Southgate
  6. There's Liverpool, for one.
  7. He's an Arsenal supporter though so would make less sense for him.
  8. Given the clubs he's been linked to, and his success rate in the Scottish League, as well as his stats on the Norwegian national team - he's quite clearly at least low to mid Premier League standard and young enough to improve in the right environment. It's the move to the better league that will be the make or break issue, in that is his current level his roof or can he take the step up in intensity on a weekly level. He might not, I don't know that, but as with any player with potential you won't know until you try. That said, he'd be a lot better off at a club that knows how to bring through players.
  9. You... You... you don't... know... if that's... real... or not...? Please tell me you're wooshing me. Please, for the love of god, please. You read it, right?
  10. A Norwegian in talking down a Norwegian footballer shocker.
  11. Looking at the crest, that looks fake as fuck.
  12. The moment Solbakken appointed Ødegaard as the new captain of Norway was the moment I knew nothing would be different and we would waste our best generation in two decades.
  13. We used to flip coins to decide a winner before that.
  14. "Remember that time we only needed 1 goal to level the field against Lincoln City because that was the fair way of dealing with things and it gave us a much more realistic mountain to climb, energizing us and giving us faith it could be achieved? Boy do I wish I could trade that for a million to one shot at having to score twice! Now that would be exciting to watch as time runs out, us needing two goals instead of one. Wow. I'm excited just thinking about it."
  15. Was a bit of hyperbole, but the point stands. Penalties are part and parcel of the game. It's easier to get a winner from a penalty shootout than a free kick shootout. I don't mind the hockey type penalty idea though, but actual penalties are more normal for the game and would take less time.
  16. Taking things like that literally is the easiest and yet, somehow, still one of the funniest jokes there is
  17. There's still skill related to the actual game of football involved. It's not a coin toss. They're exciting as fuck as well. If the teams can't get a winner in 240 minutes and added time I prefer the game to be decided by something relevant to the game of football where some skill under pressure is needed.
  18. Should exclude that from the goal total then since it's not a natural part of the game. Penalties are a more natural part of the game when it comes to it actually being decided than the value of a goal scored away being higher than at home.
  19. I hate watching a match where the first leg ended 1-0 for instance, knowing that if the team that lead scores once the other team now need to score three times rather than two, meaning it's nigh impossible. It's a shit unfair aspect of modern football and I'm thrilled it's being sorted.
  20. Boooooooo, rather leagues expanded.
  21. They've literally just played two games of football and it's ended up a tie, so to break the tie they do something that matters. Away goals have always been shit and nonsensical.
  22. That goes for every club. If we were Saudi owned and they signed us up for the ESL we'd be cretinous as well. I actually have much less faith in us saying something about it.
