  2. How do you rate Nordtveit's chances to get a look in this season if you don't get in a new CB, Gash?
  3. Not sure if I rate Bob Bradley or not yet. He did wonders with USA, but was that more to do with him tapping into Patriotic Pride over ability? I honestly have no idea, know very little of his work. Though he does seem to be one of the most succesful coaches domestically and internationally for the US. Yanks are obsessed with tactics, though. Especially on the coahcing side of things. I'm amazed there's been very little American managers coming to try their ability in Europe, and would love to see how Bradley would do at Villa out of sheer curiosity how the tactical approach from the Yanks would work in the big leagues. Can't say I've ever been inspired by any tactical insight from an American coach yet (MLS or International football). The good tacticians are usually stuck managing college sides for some reason.

  5. MLS is the standard of a European "second tier quality" league tbh. i.e. Scando leagues, Scottish league, Ukrainian league and so on. IMO. It's Henry that's playing cack. I'm aware of what standard the MLS is, to say its second tier quality is generous, perhaps the top players are, but teams overall, not too sure. Ljungberg had his one decent game a season today. I watch the MLS almost every round due to being a nocturnal bastard, and I also watch the odd random European league match-up from time to time because, well, it's football. Combined with watching the Scando leagues often I'd no doubt say the better MLS teams would slide in easily. The lesser teams would probably struggle. The issue with the MLS and overall player quality is that they have very small squads in the first place, which usually means a mixture of say, 30% good players and 70% filler. I dare say you know all this already, but yeah. On topic though, Henry have been nothing but shocking since he came over IMO. He should boss the league even on the decline.

  7. Did you even watch KPB in the world cup? When Ghana lost the ball he dropped back central and was tenacious along with anan in the middle, part of the reason why they progressed so far. We don't have Annan, though. We have Smith.
  8. Who cares as long as we'd be starting our best players, doesn't mean shit if it's balanced or they're in their correct positions you know! Just as long as they're the best players we have at our disposal. [/bontempi]
  9. You would be happier with smith and nolan then? No. That team has one central midfielder and a set of wingers and second strikers/strikers. There is absolutely no balance and we'd get ripped to shreads. LOL Really think you have no clue what balance is. That would be the most balanced newcastle i've seen in a few years.

In the first place, yeah. But now everybody are all "He can't act like that if he doesn't do stuff on the pitch well enough to act like he does! "

Nile Ranger thread had like 70 pages or something before he made his first team bow. 100+ before his first goal. Should have been locked and hall of famed before he became a hate object tbh. Glory of the first pages is ruined by the latest pages and his behaviour now.
  12. Do you realise that both Wes Brown and Paul Robinson are older than Shearer was when he retired from international football? Yes. Areet then. Was glad Shearer retired at 30 personally. Didn't do us any harm. Of course, it benefited us greatly. Doesn't change my personal opinion of Shearer in that instance though, in principle it still winds me up hugely that a player is willing to quit playing for their country. Beckham has the right idea, never moaned when McClaren fobbed him off and says he'll be available for selection until the day he retires. Whether he or any player is up to it is in the hands of the manager. Will probably never get selected again though, MLS have said he'll not get to go on loans in the spring anymore and he's backed that statement.
  13. How come every other football forum uses such horrible design? Considering the userbase on Red Cafe, it's a bit embarrasing on their part tbh. Then again they're all plastic mancs, they have no taste.
  14. Can't help myself: Resize dickweed. /Ronaldo How low is your resolution if you need that resized?
  15. Backng Tromsø @ 2.90 with £30 to try and recoup some of the disastrous events of the day.
  16. Fuck this shit. Fuck it to hell. £70 out of the fucking window. At least I got loads of cheap Swedish booze to ease the loss pain.
  17. This is blatantly what happens every time I feel like going big on a quadruple, bar that one time I won a lot of course. But still.
  18. I'm in Sweden shopping cheap food and beer and won't be back in time to do a decent write-up before the matches start. I got a Stabæk, Hønefoss, Haugesund dnb and Brann dnb quadruple going. Brann is the least secue of those four. I'd not dare bet on the other two matches as they're very likely to go either way. You can toss in Fredrikstad and Bodø/Glimt from the Adeccoleague as well as they're pretty safe even being away.
  19. No offers yet. Only a year-ish left on his contract now, mind.
  20. If that's true he really should've got the sack after the WC. I feel for you, England.
